@Adira: Yes, this! My kids get heavy eyes, but they do not fall asleep unless forced to.

You guys. H slept an 8.5 hr stretch last night
That is the longest he has ever slept,by a few hrs. Ha. I think he's tuckered from all his grandparents being here. He has also been rolling onto and sleeping on his tummy the past two nights (previously, he would always wake up if he rolled onto his tummy), so maybe he likes tummy sleeping.
So fun to hear about all of the solids! Im waiting until H is 6 mo and can sit fine unassisted, but I'm getting so excited!
I hope Charlie is doing better today

@theotherstark: That's an AMAZING stretch of sleep!!!! Let's hope it continues! And I think most babies prefer to sleep on their tummy. I know Xander did! I can't wait for Logan to be able to roll on his and hopefully be more comfortable and sleep that way.

@FaithFertility: aw she must be tuckered out! Ryan seems really tired today too sleep nursing after waking from his nap!

@Adira: @FaithFertility: @winniebee: I know!! I get excited when he gets a 5 hr stretch, so this was just crazy town. And probably a fluke. Oh well

So far we've tried green beans and sweet potatoes. She seems to be eating them, but is a little indifferent to them. Although in general it takes her a lot to get excited about something.

@BandDmommy: Great that your parents are coming. It's always nice to have the help and a distraction for the kids
@winniebee: Woohoo for sleeping in the crib and unswaddled! Maybe once R's more comfortable on his tummy he'll cut out some night wakings?
@josina: Sounds like a rough day You could always ask to have his ears checked out if things don't get better today.

@Adira: We haven't started any solids yet either (well, I did let him chew on a watermelon rind and some made it into his diaper). J will be 6 months in a week but he still seems pretty far away from sitting unassisted I'm waiting patiently for that!

@theotherstark: that's awesome! i'm jealous!
@winniebee: not too bad. could always be worse...you've had worse
@josina: that's really strange! i think the Wonder Weeks theory mentions often eating less when going through one of the jumps -- maybe that?
DH texted me this morning saying "did E do awesome last night?" (meaning STTN) Ummmm, no. You slept through the 12a and 430a wakeups. Cripes.
For food, we've done quite a few. Biggest hits: PINEAPPLE, broccoli, banana, sweet potato, carrot, apple, and pear. Biggest misses: cauliflower (not mushy enough, even though it breaks apart easily), raspberries (too sour?). I may try some meatball tonight. She is still gagging a fair amount, but seems less surprised by it at least...and keeps shoveling it in

@KayKay: haha, that's happened to me before too with Hubs thinking Logan slept WAY better than he did!! I'm like "No, you were just snoring through it!"

@KayKay: @Adira: right?????
I think DH ignores it at times
Not to long go ne was like patting my chest and bed I thought..... he was trying to get frisky I said what are you doing? He says making sure you didn't fall asleep nursing her and put her back in pnp!!!!
Ohhhh so you heard her huh?????...... Men!

@theotherstark: that is great sleep! i can't wait for micah to start rolling from back to belly so he can roll on over and sleep on his tummy

Is anyone interested in another thread? Milestones? 6 month stats? Photos? This one has lots of daily chatter (and I love it), but wasn't sure if there would be any interest in a separate special one as these kiddos are growing.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: With my other due date group, we started a new thread every 4 months or so until our babies were a year and then we started a Toddler thread that we're still using. So I wouldn't be opposed to starting a new thread. We can post all our 6 month stats once we all have them and embark on the fun journey of solids and crawling, etc!

Today is our first full day with the kids home with a sitter. DH and I both have varying schedules and have been alternating days but his schedule is changing a bit so we need some help. She's recent college grad who we've had over to meet us but this is her first day with both kids. I'm feeling so nervous! She seems great but she was a little awkward when I was leaving this morning. You know how someone who doesn't feel super comfortable with babies holds a baby? Sort of like that... Anyway - hopefully she was just feeling uncomfortable that I was still there getting ready. I just hope everything is going ok! M was shy but I'm sure she warmed up quickly. J is teething and I'm worried that he'll cry all day and not nap and the sitter will never want to come back! Gah.

@whenoceansrise: I finally decided sleep training is not for us, not at the moment anyway! So now we happily co-sleep, nurse to sleep, do whatever I have to do. We'd only re-think if her sleep is so bad that it's affecting HER
I swear I'm still alive and kicking! Work is SO busy now and I barely have time to pump

@snowjewelz: I agree. cosleeping is working for us at the moment and I really don't want to give up the all night snuggles yet!

@MamaG:Maybe like a question board??? That way questions dont get lost in the daily chatter.... which I also love!
@MrsF: awww I am sorry! My sister is a nanny and swears the kids are much better than you would think!!!! They adapt quick!!! Hope it is a great day!!!!
@snowjewelz: I was thinking where you are
Hope all is well!
Just got back from taking G to my work for the First Grade awards where my class FINALLY got to meet her!!!!
It was soo sweet they loved her and a few kiddos cried when they saw me

@whenoceansrise: I am a closet co-sleeper.......lol
DH is afraid of it, but I pull her in bed and nurse her and kinda like the 5-6a.m. wakes because αΊƒ nap for a bit in the bed

@snowjewelz: @whenoceansrise: Go with your guts ladies Every family / baby is different!
@FaithFertility: Thanks for the encouragement I'm sure they'll be fine - and hopefully I'll feel less anxious after the first day is over.

@FaithFertility: The story about your students is so cute! They must have loved seeing you and G.

@MrsF: Teaching is such a heart sting job as much as I LOVE being home seeing all of them today made me miss it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: It's easier to check IG/FB when I'm pumping at work or late at night... So I'm much less active on HB lately Plus K's sleep is pretty horrid these days so I'm tired!
And how sweet about your class. They are really just babies too!
I shared Charlie's page on my FB, desperate to get more people to pray and so many of my friends ask about him/keep up with the page now. I hope the added prayers/positive thoughts will help.
I'm waiting to see of mrsscallop replies to us on FB about whether we can still send stuff to the current hospital address and if she'll even say what she would like.. And then maybe we can pool together again to get her something? I'm sure the last rounds of giftcards didn't last all that long.
