I saw under the thread a card was sent to her a few months ago....
Unfortunately I must have misunderstood and thought it wasn't until they were going home something was being sent out
I know a card isn't going to change a thing.... but for the future..
Well I pray we can send something for Charlie to his home very very soon!!!!!!!!!!!

@BandDmommy: I think she's from a different country, so might just be a language issue.

Whew! We just waited an hour for our visit. I miss our pediatrician and his punctuality. K is growing well. 19 lb 2 oz (90%) and 26 inches (50%), and staying on her curve.
We spent a lot of time talking about spit up. He thinks the soy is a fluke and that we should give Zantac a try. I sort of want to go back to Gerber formula first and see if that fixes it.
We also talked about sleep. This doctor is certainly firmly in camp sleep train. He talked about how at this point she shouldn't need us during the night and that we need to let her learn that she will be okay in her bed alone from the time we put her down (awake ) until some significant time later.
We don't put her down awake, she falls asleep getting her evening bottle. I just want to get back to where we were last week with an 8-9 hour stretch followed by another 2-4 hour stretch. And improved naps would be perfect I don't ask for much.
Oddly he didn't ask about any physical milestones

@MamaG: Sounds like she is doing great!
I nurse G and she falls asleep 95% of the time and I lay her down!
She can soothe at night so I feel like when she stays up or cries she is hungry?!? IDK my theory....lol
Our pedi seems more lack on sleep and said a 5-6hr stretch at 4-5 months is good! So who knows!!!

Thankfully it sounds like Charlie is stable for the time being. Poor boy (and poor mama). Definitely keeping them in my prayers tonight!

What a scare with Charlie. I'm so glad to see he is doing better. Certainly makes me realize all of our struggles are trivial.

@MamaG: wow! Tyler was 18 lbs at 12 months!!!! Glad she is doing so well. Did he think Zantac would help with fussiness? Does she seem upset about spitting up? I've done a lot of research so feel free to ask me any questions! We are still on Zantac but actually Ryan is purposefully outgrowing his dosage to see how he does.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I can't keep track of anything! Ryan took all but one nap in his crib today (late day car nap). He even went down awake once. They were not good naps one was just over an hour and the rest short. Bed time today was fine. Down at 7 but awake and bonkers at 7.:30 Did the 5, 10, 15 and finally had to pick him up at the 30 min mark because he was just bonkers. Huge burp and passed out. Gah I'm a sucker.
I hope everyone has a sleeeepy night. And I think of all the working moms in such a grind. It's hard to be sleep deprived but the working schlep is really tough.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: I mean he cried but then passed out. Only 40 mins but who are we kidding that's normal! Oh and I meant to mention I often intervene and try to get him back to sleep but did not do that at all today.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: It is kind of sad, the dogs are even looking at the door like Mom what is that?....lol
Hey he is getting the hang of it!
40mins here is a good nap

@winniebee: I grow big girls. C was nearly 21 lbs and 28 inches at this same age. The Zantac is being suggested to help with the spit up.

I'm so glad to hear that Charlie is a little more stable, but my heart is just breaking for them. As a mother I just really can't imagine any of this. I'm crying just thinking about them...

@MrsF: agree
Not much going on here. D is sleeping well with exception of nais which are hit or miss. Yesterday was a miss day. My parents are coming this weekend and I'm so thankful for the help.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: so based on everything I have read and been told by GI doc, Zantac and other reflux meds don't technically help with spitting up. Just discomfort associated with it. But some parents anecdotally say it helps. Definitely did not help with actual spitting up here but did help with discomfort (or maybe he just matured).

G slept decent last night but I think was whimpering a lot due to teeth?
She woke for the day at 7
Played with Dad for a few and passed out eating at 7:45 poor girl!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: What a growing girl! I have no advice on the sleep side. We've had to nurse Logan to sleep lately and it's annoying, but I can't stand listening to him cry! And our six month appointment isn't for a month!
@winniebee: I'm not part of the FB group (if that's where you guys are getting your info on Charlie). Can you update me on what's going on?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: mrs scallop actually has a FB page dedicated to Charlie called "Charlie's Journey". They don't know what happened but he took a turn for the worse but is doing better.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
So Ryan had a "normal" night - 2nd full night unswaddled in crib! Sadly, normal for us lately is bed at 7, up crying 30 mins later (let him CIO and soothed a bit and finally back asleep at 8). But then he slept til 12 and ate, ate again at 3 and up for the day at 6:45. Now, if we could get back to just one feeding around 2 am....that would be better for everyone. I'm not going to complain given how horrendous this could be! He is sleeping with 2 little A&A security blankets and in a sleep sack. Mostly on his side. I find him on his belly for night wakings but not sure if he's slept like that or just rolled to that position once awake.

Not sure whats up with Ethan lately... yesterday he only had 1 bottle at daycare, he nursed fine last night but has less, 1 side vs. 2 and only about 5 minutes each time. Woke up at 2 and wouldn't quit crying. (3rd time this week he's done that). I gave him some Tylenol and eventually put him back in his crib and he fell asleep.
I don't see any signs of teeth yet and he seems fine during the day other than eating less yesterday.

@winniebee: for unswaddled in crib I think he is doing well!
You too for sticking it out!
@josina: Huh? Maybe it is teeth pain!?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: You mentioned he had a cold last week....maybe an ear infection following the cold??

Cereal is going great! I'm thinking a veggie to add to the mix? Sweet potato, carrots..... how fun!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: woot! two nights in the crib, way to go R.
@josina: hope he has a better day today. Is he eating solids at daycare? one bottle seems like way too little.
@BandDMommy: Yeah for visiting grandparents. Is this B's birthday weekend?
@FaithFertility: I wish K would just pass out! Getting her to sleep is a challenge.
Speaking of sleep challenges. K was up at 3:00, I let her cry (scream!) for 10 minutes, then spent about another 15 trying to soothe her back to sleep. I had her calm, until I put her back in her crib. Screaming again! So finally, I gave into the bottle. Not at all a horrible night, but I don't know how we are going to move past this wake-up. I guess I can try the decreasing feed to see if I can get her over it.
Also, she had banana puree for dinner last night. Most successful so far. They seem a little thicker than the other foods we've given her. Now she just needs to cut these teeth!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: I'm sure you aren't the only one not using the crib yet. She's in the PnP in your room right?
We haven't done cereal yet, I like to do solids in reverse. We start with purees and add cereal later. We've done sweet potatoes and green beans for veggies. Peas were a fail
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@BandDmommy: 8 hours... 1 bottle is 5 oz. She kept trying but he just wouldn't take it. He usually will do 3 bottles, sometimes 2.
@winniebee: That's what I'm worried about, I think one of the other daycare babies had one last week. How do I tell if he has an ear infection? He seems fine other than eating less yesterday and the motn cry-fest. We'll see how today goes.
@FaithFertility: We are on sweet potatoes now... it took 3 tries before he liked them!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: so the ear infection itself isn't contagious Bc it just develops from a virus usually. Only way to really know is having doc check ears. But usually baby will be more fussy, tug at ears, trouble sleeping, eat less. Within a day of antibiotics usually remarkably better!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
As far as foods we have done plain rice cereal (didn't love), peas (yuck), bananas (meh), sweet potato and pears and peaches were all hits. He also loved gumming a slice of watermelon yesterday. I'm going to start doing more BLW in a few weeks once he is 6m.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Two MOTN wake-ups isn't HORRIBLE, though it's not great. Hope it gets better soon! And bummer going down is so rough - ours is rough too, but we get a much longer stretch, so I can't complain. Hope you get some real sleep soon.
@josina: I wonder if he woke up hungry because he ate so little during the day? Poor baby.
We haven't started solids yet! Logan can't even sit up on his own, so we're still waiting.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: Yeah she is in pnp in our room
Ohh and she passed out nursing.....lol in my book that doesnt count
eggplant / 11861 posts
Gahhhhh what is up she is falling asleep again nursing????
She must of had a restless night or I have major sleepy dust in my milk
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: Ha! When you said passed out eating, I was picturing her asleep in her high chair with a bowl of cereal. Ooops
