So much for good sleep last night. Of course, on a night I go to bed late, he decides to wake up at 11:30pm & 1:30am to eat (which is normal & I can handle that), but decides to wake up crying at 2:30am & 3:30am. I had to bring him in the living room for the 3:30 wakeup so DH could get some sleep since he has to work today. Can't wait for STTN!

I'm loving the age G is! She is soo fun and observant! She went to a local fountain park today amd watched the kids play in the shade and laughed as they ran by
She then went to dinner with dad and me and just "hung" out!!!! She is my buddy and I love it! How will I ever go back to work?!?!?!?

@AngelicOne: oh no! K is permanently on 3 wake ups now a days. I don't know when I'll see anything better!

@FaithFertility: going to work stinks I guess you just get used to it.. And I treasure every moment I have with her even more and complain less about hard nights and what not bc I'm just happy to be with her! I'm solo parenting today and kinda loving it since I get her all to myself and we will have a girls day just us lol.

@snowjewelz: LOVE your words! It is the truth!!! I know I will cherish every moment with her!!!!
Yay for a girls day!!! Enjoy!!!
We had an AMAZING night of sleep! Down at 8 up once at 3 to eat down again until 7...
Funny thing is she got tired again at 8 and went down for a nap

K is still asleep. I'm not sure what her early night looked like since we weren't home. We were told she went to sleep. Woke, ate and down for good at 9:45. Woke at 4:30 and I sent Daddy to feed. Hopefully she will be well rested and smiley for pictures. Never did find her headband. I'm worried about drooling now. She went through tons of clothes yesterday.
And apparently not a fan of peas. She ate them okay. But they all came back at me a few minutes later.

@FaithFertility: that IS amazing sleep!
J actually did great too after some really hard nights lately. STTN from 730-5:30 and then up for the day. I think I would prefer the 3am wakeup and sleep 'til 7 but I'm not complaining!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: maybe put s bib on her and take it off at the last second? Their drool really is insane!

@MamaG: Hope the pics turn out great and sorry K wore her peas.
@FaithFertility: Glad G had fun people watching!
The night before must have been a fluke or something because last night was pretty good sleep wise. Went to bed around 7pm, ate at 9pm, 10:45pm & 2:45am, DH brought him in to the living room around 5:30am where he slept until 7:15am. He spent from 12:30am - 2:45am sleeping on his belly & didn't freak when he couldn't flip back over.

If I ever say that I want to stop breastfeeding - will someone please remind me how nice it is to get away from my MIL and snuggle here nursing my baby?
The woman is crazy.

@KayKay: Goodness, that's four teeth, right? I thought for sure that K would have one before she turned 6 months. She's got until Monday before I'm wrong. I remember C got her front four rapidly once that first one came through.

Thanks everyone, pictures were a success. I didn't get as many individual ones of K as I would have liked. But they went well. I will take some more of her on Monday for her official 6 months. As many of you have already seen, I posted one on IG and another in the FB group. Now we wait for another round of storms to hit here.

@MamaG: So glad the pictures went well. They're so cute! I forget where you live - what kind of storms are we talking about?
@FaithFertility: @KayKay: it's definitely nice to sneak away sometimes!

@MrsF: I'm in Texas. We have had a stormy and very wet spring. So far nothing today, but I think we are going to get thunderstorms overnight. And with it, will come flash flood issues (again). We desperately needed the rain, but I think our lakes are finally full again.

@MamaG: Pics were so cute! Hope everyone stayed safe during the storms. I know there were tornados all through the midwest last night.

E has been going to town on the solids lately! Eggs and broccoli in particular have been huge hits. Putting those teeth to good use I guess!
Ugh -- hope everyone's kiddos slept thru the storms!

@KayKay: Whoop eggs and broccoli?!?!
We feel so bad when we eat infront of her she looks at our food and chomps away as if the cereal is just not enough..... maybe I'll try some BLW
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: yeah we roasted some broccoli with olive oil and lemon juice and she sucked on those florets forever! I think it was easy to grasp and we joked that the floret probably had a mouth-feel like the ears of her lamb lovey that she loves to suck on. Haha. Even when I give her purees, she wants to hold the spoon and feed herself. Little miss independent!

@KayKay: well that broccoli sounds delicious...lol
Funny story at MIL and went to feed G BIL who has a 12yr old says ohhhh she is still milking,???
Haha you mean nursing?

@MamaG: she likes you all too much
@KayKay: blw is so much fun! Ryan gets mad if I don't let him hold the spoon too!
Busy weekend here - had Tyler's birthday party yesterday which was a lot of work but a lot of fun! Today we went to the beach and playground and had a movie night. He was really great this weekend! Ryan was good as well - passed around like crazy yesterday and barely napped but was still fine til like 6!
We are all finally better (Ryan still has a lingering cough) and sleep has just been so bad! Ryan's been going down earlier and earlier which means his first waking is generally earlier but man it keeps creeping up. Last night was 715-11, up again at 230 and 430 and up for the day at 6. He keeps having enormous 530/6am poops. Not sure if solids are too much on his gut?! In any case, I am done with the rock and play and swaddle. In the crib he went tonight in a sleep sack and with a lovie. I'm doing a 15 minute rule for all wakings before midnight - he has to fuss or cry for 15 mins and if he doesn't sort it out I will go to him. I would like to eliminate all feeds before midnight since it's really only a new thing that he's waking so soon. And after I feed him motn I'm not running back in if he starts fussing again. I will feed him and put him back down and he can fuss it out a bit. I am hoping that some of his wakings have been frustration with the swaddle and being all scrunched in the rock n play. It's been one hour and no word from him yet. Wish us luck!

@winniebee: Best of luck!!!!! I'm sure he will do great!!!!
I'm with you I let G fuss/play motn unil she either cries or it has been 10-15minutes.....
She also has been having massive poops at like 10:30..stinky but seems to have stopped the past 2 nights!
She is still in our room in pnp....I just love havubg hwr near since DH works nights... but I know the crib awaits!!!!!!

@KayKay: Sounds delicious! E is eating well! I'm looking forward to starting solids with J too but I want him to be sitting up better first.
@MamaG: Booo I hope the naps get better!
@winniebee: Glad T's birthday went well. Your IG pics were so cute! Your sleep plan is pretty close to what we're doing: giving him some time to work it out before going in there and not feeding before 1am. If he wakes up a second time between 1 and 5 DH wants to give him a bottle so he doesn't have the comfort aspect of nursing. I'm not sure if that will work but I suppose it's worth a try. I hope things go well for you!
I found a little pinhole in J's gums where his first tooth is trying to poke through. I hope it doesn't keep him up! I guess I'll give him Tylenol if he wakes early / often.

I really want to blame a tooth for our weekend sleep issues. Lord, I hope that's what this was. Last night she was up every three hours, wanting a bottle. That's not even close to normal for us lately.
I know she's having some tummy issues, but I can't pinpoint the issue. She's having daily BM's at school, but I'm not sure what they are like. On Saturday it was small and a lot of effort went into it. This morning she had pears for breakfast and well, I had a big old mess in the jumperoo a couple of hours later I'm not sure if it's the solids or the soy formula or both.
I'm getting the distinct impression K is going to have a touchy tummy. C has an iron gut for the most part.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: sounds like a great plan. You are stronger than me. I can't listen to the crying/whining that long at night. But then again, K escalates to being pretty mad quickly. I hope it's a successful night.
