@winniebee: yeah I have given an Oz here and there in SIPPY.... she doesn't drink much
@snowjewelz: Fingers and toes crossed

Speaking of sippy cups.....we have reached a stand still latley using it more as a teether
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@winniebee: Ethan has a sippy with water but hasn't really figured it out yet either, like @FaithFertility: its more of a teether.

@FaithFertility: Aww it's okay! Still got time!
So she decided to nurse/nap at 9, then stayed up till 10:45 But thankfully she was still sleeping when I left the house at 8 and should sleep till at least 9 to get her 10 hrs minimum... Of course she woke up MOTN too but those were quick and relatively painless.

@snowjewelz: Glad she's getting enough sleep but that must be a little hard on you!

@snowjewelz: crazy schedule!
Anyone still dealing with awful naps?
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: Naps seem to be hit/miss at daycare. There is at least one day that K will only take a morning nap.
Naps at home are also hard, if both kids napped when they wanted to, we'd be stuck at home from about 10:00 - 4:00. We just can't function that way!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: I don't talk about it any more....lol but yeah they are pretty bad some days
I'll just say it is either:
Fall asleep in car/bring in carseat to nap if we are out, doing laps around house on our shoulder, or stroller around the block....all for a 30-40min nap!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: I will say she is happy all day and loves being out and about so I can't complain!
pear / 1961 posts
@winnibee: our naps are fine but she has never really had a problem with them. every once in awhile, we'll have a quick one (30-45 minutes), but usually 1ish hours in the a.m. and 2+ in the p.m or thereabouts. our biggest issue is trying to sync e's naps with k's activities, drop-off/pick-up, gym daycare outings, etc. poor second kid

@snowjewelz: micah seems to be a night owl! he wants to nap around 6-7 and then not go to sleep until 9-10 and we've tried keeping him awake until like 8:30 and he still treats that as a nap and is just fussy all night because he's tired soooo i guess we are just going to let him nap and let him have a later bed time
honeydew / 7444 posts
@winniebee: I have given up and just wear A for naps. I still have him on a schedule but all of his naps are in the Ergo and usually when we are out. I manage a total of 3 hours, maybe 3.5 hours total.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@winniebee: k really only takes 30 or 40 minute naps still. Although she's normally able to fall asleep fine, it's the staying asleep that's the issue.
persimmon / 1050 posts
@winniebee: M's naps are still pretty awful most of the time. He does like 4 or 5 naps that last about 20 - 40 minutes usually. He will surprise us once in awhile and do an hour or so, but not often.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: glad I'm not alone! For now I don't see it as a huge issue but if she goes to daycare at some point and we need to leave the house then I need her to go to sleep earlier and stay asleep!

We've been putting off lowering our crib, but now it's a necessity. K has figured out how to get herself from laying to sitting without our assistance. This morning at 5'ish while DH was making her bottle, I watched her do it on the monitor. And she's done it repeatedly today. Slow down little one!

@MamaG: ohhhh my goodness..... we are no where near that.... thankfully..... lol

I am having such emotions lately about going back to work :\ I cant even bring myself to call her sitter to go over paperwork and have G meet her again........I feel like if I do it is real......
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: Woah! I would say that J is nowhere near getting to a sitting position on his own - but it is amazing how quickly these milestones come!
@FaithFertility: These changes are so hard!
pomelo / 5660 posts
@MamaG: we lowered our a few months ago. D is crawling backwards now.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: haha I totally jinxed myself woke to G on her belly in pnp and also pulling up on the side I doubt she could do it, but...........I think we are headed to crib pronto....lol
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: Awww going back is so hard! I'm sure you will both do great
nectarine / 2053 posts
you guys.... Micah woke up every thirty minutes last night... WHAT? please tell me tonight will be better
pomelo / 5298 posts
@whenoceansrise: teeth? I hope tonight is better. Is he napping okay today?
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: awful teeth maybe! Hope he is better today/tonight
nectarine / 2053 posts
@MamaG: @MrsF: @FaithFertility: who knows! He's drooling and wanting to chew on everything but he's been doing that for awhile. He seems to want to nap a lot today
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@whenoceansrise: ugh! I bet it will be better. Ryan was up constantly a week or so ago and I never knew why but he didn't do it again

Tell G to sleep She has been up since 9:30
I've rocked, nursed, you name it...... currently letting her yak away...... This kid!!!!!!
pomelo / 5298 posts
Okay, so last night K had a party in her crib at about 3:30. She was content so I left her. She was growling/grunting and the thought crossed my mind that she might be pooping. But I really didn't want to intervene and struggle to get her back to sleep. She was angry crying at 5:15, so I made a bottle. And she STUNK! Sigh, she laid in a dirty diaper for nearly two hours. Her bottom was red this morning as well.
Anyone deal with this? Any magical way to know if she pooped in the middle of the night? Oh the joys of solids!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: We're offering water in a Zoli. I put it to his mouth after every 3-5 bites of food. He figured it out pretty quick how to drink from it (although the first few days, he just let the water dribble back out of his mouth).
As for naps, we're still all over the place. Some are good, some are crap. No rhyme or reason to it.
@MamaG: Laying to sitting!!! I'm impressed!! Logan can't even sit unassisted, so definitely don't have to worry about him getting himself up yet!
@FaithFertility: Going back to work is hard, but it gets easier every day.
@whenoceansrise: Ugh! Teeth? Growth spurt? I'm sorry!
@MamaG: No advice about pooping in the middle of the night, but you're not alone. Logan's done it too. Lots of desitin after helps the redness go away.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: it was for the books but babies will be babies!
@MamaG: awww stinky
I use A&D ointment and redness gone away quick, plus some extra diaper free time....
G will sleep in a blow out and not even care, I have woken up to her singing away at 7 a.m. reach in to grab her and she has caked on dry poop up her back Lord knows how long she was like that!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: After I wrote this I started offering Zoli with water to Ryan with meals. He figured it out on the second try! I'm shocked because I don't think Tyler figured it out until 8/9 months.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
We had our 6 month appointment on Friday. 27 inches long, 17 lbs 2 oz. So he's growing well! Still sick, but no fever, so he got his shots. He cried while getting them, but then we nursed and he was fine. And totally fine (besides being sick) over the weekend, thankfully! We got a refill for his inhaler and got a new ointment to try for his eczema.
Nothing really new to report. Still not really rolling. Can't sit unassisted yet. But loves supported standing. And he LOVES his exersaucer. Food front is going well. He's had carrots, sweet potatos, peas, and bananas so far. We'll be trying yogurt on Saturday and prepping for an ER run in case of allergies. I'm scared!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Same here! It definitely took Xander longer to figure out the Zoli straw than it did Logan. He figured it out during his first meal (although actually swallowing it took longer). Go babies!
eggplant / 11861 posts
I want to try a Zoli, but I think I'm just going to give her something else to reject
She drinks water but spits it back out but will go in for more, I think it feels good on her gums?
