@winniebee: Aww.. poor baby. Is he doing okay otherwise or fussy?
Excited to FINALLY have 6 month stats!
6 months, 3 weeks; 19 lbs, 14 oz (78%) and 28" long (86%).
I was surprised he wasn't higher percentile for weight since he's a little chunker but growing perfectly.
He did pretty well with shots, cried of course and hugged mommy/nursed and then slept while I got some shopping done.
Dr. said it looked like his other ear was also getting infected so good we started antibiotics when we did.
Funny story DH told me last night... he had given me a hug before leaving yesterday (in bed) and I had warned him the bed was wet b/c I had leaked but he didn't think anything of it... on his way to work he noticed his shirt was damp from breast milk! lol.. he said it kinda grossed him out but was too late to do anything about it. I'm sure it was dry by the time he got there.

@josina: hahaha, poor your husband!!! Too funny! And great stats for your growing boy! Sounds like he's doing great!

So after two nights of soothing herself back to sleep on her own all night, K was up at 2:00. There was no getting her back to sleep without the bottle. Thus me being up for a whole hour trying to help soothe her. le'sigh! At least we stuck to the plan of letting her try AND giving her a smaller bottle. She wasn't really pleased with the 4oz bottle and protested by not burping but she did get back to sleep.

And, I learned that K is moving classes starting Monday. She's headed to the older infants class. She just turned 7 months today and she wasn't really the next baby scheduled to go, but LO is too mobile to be with the little babies anymore. She's rolling all over the room and getting into areas that aren't really safe for her. The room is really geared to non-mobile kiddos. I knew this day was coming as there was only one crib left in the rotation before she'd be the one to move. But crap, seriously, growing up too quick!

@MamaG: Oh wow!! Mobile baby! But I bet she'll love the older infant room. Logan will probably be the last to move from his room - he's still not really rolling at all.

@josina: my husband is grossed out by it too. Although since I pump at night I've learned if I skip the session on a week night the bed will be soaked by morning. There's at least been one time where the bed got so wet that when I got up to feed K he moved to the couch for the last hour or two.
And speaking of pumping, since we moved K up to 5 ounce bottles last week I've been able to pump more. No idea if this means she's eating less from me so there's more leftover or that she's gotten used to bigger meals so she's also taking more from me so I'm producing more to keep up?? Either way, I hope it continues!

@MamaG: I don't think they move babies at K's daycare till they start walking. It is a smaller center though with only about 5 in Ks class plus they have a super long wait list. There's still only 1 baby younger than K in her class and the others all seem to be at least crawling.

@josina: Another big boy! Glad that you started the antibiotics when you did - I hope he's feeling ok. Too funny about your DH's shirt.
@MamaG: That must have been frustrating to have to feed her, sounds like she's been making good progress though! And that's amazing that she's ready to move rooms. I keep picturing her rolling all over the place
@Adira: I think that Jack and Logan are on the same milestones track. J just really started sitting up independently the past few days (he's 6 months and 3 weeks) and he still has only rolled a handful of times. He really hates tummy time still, so that's not helping.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: Oh good! I'm glad Logan's not the only one who's not that mobile. I don't even think Logan can sit up unassisted yet!! He has rolled both ways, but most of the time, can't seem to figure it out. And he hates tummy time too.

@MrsF: @Adira: Mobility almost feels like a curse with an older child around. I just see an ER visit in our future related to her mobility and things that could end up in her mouth.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: @MrsF: Ahh, I don't even want to think about that. Xander's already tried giving Logan some of his smaller choking hazard toys!

@winniebee: growing boy, I hope those shots didn't keep that fever long
@josina: Nice stats E!!! Too funny about the milk...lol
Glad he got on antibiotics too, ear infections no fun!
@MamaG: aww it's so hard to read them!?!
I never know If I should feed her or not since her nights are random with no patterns....lol

@Adira: @MamaG: @MrsF: I am so scared of those things.....choking-getting hurt...
She was playing on her floor yesterday and eye balled a piece of string from a blanket seriously feet away?????
It is like they zone in on tiny objects

@MamaG: haha even MOTN she knew! I feel ya, we keep having these 2 hr wake ups MOTN randomly and it's NOT fun!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Miss Ariel: that's so nice! I'm the opposite.. my supply keeps going down.. sometimes I'm a whole bottle short
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: we had a nurse-a-thon last night for45mins?!?!??! Then some rocking to go back down!?
I am so sorry 2 hrs is horrible
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: This is what she does pretty much - If she is asleep before 8:30, she is almost guaranteed to wake up after sleeping for about 7 hrs, and she will stay up happy for close to 2 hrs but then will go back to sleep with rocking or nursing. And she will sleep another ~3 hrs to complete her 10-11 hrs total. So we always let her take a late nap and then have her stay up, but sometimes her nap just isn't that late and she is tired and needs to sleep... But then she'll wake up! We've played around with all kinds of bed time and this is her pattern now for sure. So last night she went to sleep at 8, and woke up at 4, stayed up till 6 and slept till almost 10! It's so messed up!

@snowjewelz: Wow! crazy schedule! I mean if you were home great...... but with working (hugs)
Babies are crazy!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: They are growing so fast! I see younger babies and am just like awe! I miss it already, he's not so cuddly anymore!
@Miss Ariel: I actually hadn't leaked in a long time, but E's been going longer (6-1/2 vs 4 hours) and only taking one side so the other is doomed to leak. We have a king so once my 'side' is wet I'll just scoot over to his.
Awesome for pumping more! I've been getting consistently 5 oz. + now too, vs sometimes was only 3.5 oz.
@snowjewelz: Sorry for the decreasing supply. But glad the formula is working for you. I need to check my stash so I can see when I can quit pumping (but hopefully keep nursing morning/night.)
Luckily for us when E wakes up early in the mornings he'll hang out quietly, and I think he's been waking in the MOTN and playing/moving all over the place but I don't hear him so yay? I find him in the craziest positions now, lol.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: She is totally fine if she goes to sleep after 8:30! So most of the time I can manipulate her schedule... But now that has longer naps it's hard to!
@josina: Yeah the perfect set up would be to quit pumping during the day but still be able to nurse morning/night for as long as possible! If I can't even nurse to sleep then it's really time to sleep train haha!
I'm starting to think we have to re-consider sleep train... And just leave her to play and fall back asleep eventually... She just defys all "sleep rules"! I'm part of a sleep training group on FB and everyone says if they have night wakings it's b/c they are overtired, need to move bed earlier, etc... Nothing is true for this lil princess lol!

@Adira: @MamaG: I'm really worried about choking hazards with a toddler around Toys, food, ugh.
@snowjewelz: such a crazy schedule!

Florida is soooo hot
I know I shouldn't complain but I feel like I cant be out with for too long!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I totally get it though. When it's really hot/humid I feel like she's getting too sweaty, or I worry about sun protection, or I think she's gonna be extra thirsty and need to nurse more... Or get sick if we go between hot outside air and cool AC!

@josina: Seems like M is the biggest baby here! Hope E feels better soon.
@FaithFertility: It's way too hot here in AZ too. High today is 112! I feel like I'll never be able to take M outside until October lol.
@MamaG: @snowjewelz: Those are long wake ups! M actually went about 5 hrs last night without eating. (He did wake a time or two, but put himself back to sleep)
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Ohhh yes, I nurse her like crazy if we are at pool and such, I offer it just incase.... don't want her dehydrated
nectarine / 2210 posts
@snowjewelz: technically I don't actually pump enough each day for the following. But I do pump Sunday morning and that's normally enough to make up the difference. So far this week I haven't needed to defrost any, but will likely need to defrost 3 or 4 ounces to have enough for tomorrow.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@josina: I feel the same way about quoting or at least cutting back on pumping. I would love to keep her ebf till a year and feel like with what I have I could maybe cut out a session around 10 months. But since I do dip into my stash a little each week it's hard to know when that could be.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@FaithFertility: @snowjewelz: it's that way here in Louisiana too. Dh plays in a baseball league and by the end of the game she always looks so hot. We always stay in the shade and she never seems upset by it, but I'll be happy when his season finally ends in a few weeks.

@MamaG: ha yes I am totally happy with the lump on a log phase! Ryan can lunge for stuff on his belly and spin in circles and roll but hasn't done much damage yet!
@snowjewelz: that's crazy she is up so long at night!! But I guess Ryan is kind of the same. If he sleeps 8 hours he acts like he is ready to get up. 8-415 last night also and then I had to intervene twice to get him back down finally by 445. And then he only slept til 630. His wakings are usually only 15 mins.
Still have a bit of a fever over here post shots. He's ok but I've dosed him with Tylenol before bed both nights. No big long naps to fight it off or anything.
Are you guys offering water yet? I can't remember when I should start. I guess he's consuming solids so I should.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Miss Ariel: glad that the pumping is working out ok now - but man yeah BF / pumping is so demanding I don't think we will make it to a year.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@winniebee: I gave K some water when she tried to grab mine last night, but besides that nothing regularly.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: @AngelicOne: @Miss Ariel: It must be so hard to have infants in crazy hot climates (I guess kind of like our winter was here!). Stay cool!
@winniebee: I've been giving J the Zoli cup when he has solids. I can't really tell if he's getting anything but he's interested in it!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: I got a new zoli for Ryan and guess who stole it??
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I put barely an oz in the sippy cup and would show her water comes out if she bites. She usually just plays with it
She is just nursing to sleep now at 9 so fingers crossed for a good night!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: it's impossible to keep baby things out of the toddler's hands! Those things aren't cheap, either!
