@snowjewelz: aww go K!
@winniebee: omg I am soooooo hoping that this is a good sign and his spit up really does start to improve!
Micah has been in his crib for over a week now! I pretty much ditched the full blown sleep training and now I nurse him to sleep then put him in his crib- the CIO method worked on getting him to actually stay asleep in his crib but I decided I'm okay with nursing him to sleep. He usually wakes up twice for a quick feed and goes back down easily. last night he was up at 11:00 and again at 3:00- both times it only took ten minutes and he was back to sleep in his crib.

@winniebee: Awesome! Our spit up seems to be better some days and not so much others. She even spits up purees (nasty!). I need to call the doctor this afternoon for a refill on her medication

also- what are your thoughts on giving loveys to sleep with at night?

@snowjewelz: Teeth and crawling! Wow
@winniebee: So great that R's spitting up less! Some days I think that J's spit up is improving too (and then he'll drench me). It's kind of weird though, he often spits up now when he's in a sitting position (usually when I'm holding him on my hip) rather than lying down which makes more sense. Maybe he just doesn't like the pressure on his belly?
@Adira: Sounds like some tough days

@snowjewelz: Lol.. I use my phone to try and get him to move to it, that or water bottles!
@whenoceansrise: I still nurse to sleep at night too; he'll usually wake when I put him in the crib and roll over. Whatever works.
Ethan has a paci-plushie in the crib with him that he'll play with sometimes... otherwise we have a bear-blanket that hangs over the rail and he plays with the 'head' when he wakes up.

@josina: ugh - pumping is such a pain. I've been having lots of clogged ducts on the days that I work (I EP on those days). Yuck. So strange about the bloody milk!
@whenoceansrise: Sounds like Micah is doing great in the crib! You must be so glad to have that hurdle behind you.
We didn't put anything in the crib with M until she was a year. I'm sure it's overly cautious but we'll probably do the same with J.

@josina: Yikes! Sorry to hear about your pumping woes!
@whenoceansrise: Awesome he's transitioned to the crib! And I wouldn't worry about nursing to sleep. I have to do that most of the time with Logan too. Whatever works! As far as loveys, Logan has a little A&A lovey that I let him sleep with. The material is so breathable, I'm not too worried.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: That's still great progress! Agree with Adira about the lovey.. If you just get the muslin ones that they can breathe through... That way you don't have to worry!

@whenoceansrise: DH has K in the afternoons and her started giving her one for naps. It freaks me out a bit and I couldn't do it overnight, but so far she seems fine.

Oh and I needed to say this somewhere... I gave formula for the first time this weekend. We've been prepping for it... I'm just not pumping enough at work anymore and with K sleeping late I don't really have time to pump at night either (nor do I want to anymore).
DH had mix it in with puree to make sure she doesn't react to it, then I was gonna start this week. But on car ride home on Sun, there was a ton of traffic & she was so hungry. The milk in the cooler is SO cold and I remember I had stashed away ready to feed formula in the diaper bag for emergency... So I gave it to her! And today I am only getting two meals worth of milk (and I spilled 2 oz ) so formula is def on... Since I don't want to dig into my small stash too much.

@snowjewelz: Awww does she seem to like it? I am sorry your supply is lowering, maybe some formula here and there will make things easier with pumping!
@whenoceansrise: I am so glad to hear the crib is going good, I think a lovie is ok if your ok
@Adira: sorry Logan is sick again dang daycare huh?

@whenoceansrise: I gave Ryan a small A and A lovey when we transitioned to crib. I gave our first an angel dear (not breathable) at 8m
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: she seems fine! It helps... I'm not freaking out about how I'll get enough for the next day now, or that I'm burning through my freeze stash!

@winniebee: I am so happy to hear R might be getting over spitting up! Truly hope this stays for you guys!!!

@snowjewelz: No, he will be off Monday so we will then! We did take G to the Daddy fishing thing at Bass pro shop Yesterday... so cute!!! I am sure you saw pic on IG!

@snowjewelz: I hope that it takes some of the stress off of you! I almost feel grateful that my first LO was mostly formula fed because I think I'll stress less about giving J formula if it seems like the right thing. You're doing a wonderful job!

J had his first day of looking like a very stable sitter today! I've been really looking forward to him sitting well. It's amazing how one day it looks like they'll never meet a certain milestone and the next day it's no big deal. He seems a lot happier to be viewing the world from a new position

@MrsF: That's great! A loves sitting up too...i remember being worried because he wasn't rolling and all of a sudden i realized that he could sit up unassisted. Things seem to happen so much more quickly the second time around.
@whenoceansrise: I was able to do the same thing with my first kid. She had no problems staying asleep so we nursed/rocked to sleep!
@snowjewelz: I think it's great that she was fine with it - makes you less stressed about giving her formula and not having to use up your stash!

@josina: @Adira: ugh, i feel so bad you guys have to deal with sick babies.
@winniebee: fingers crossed it's getting better!

Today was A's 6 month checkup - his weight is still in the 90th percentile despite 6 weeks of diarrhea and height is in the 75th percentile. We just got back from the east coast (after the kids adjusted to east coast time!) so we have all been waking up at 5am the last few mornings.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Freckles: Big healthy baby!! Bummer about the time zone difference though.
@MrsF: That's awesome he's sitting up!! I'm hoping Logan will be able to do that soon too because he seems to prefer being upright.

K must have sensed I was ready to night wean. She was up at 12ish and 5ish and both times worked it out on her own. She never did her usual angry cry last night. And at 620, still snoozing. She's got a pretty harsh sounding cough. I hope it goes away soon.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Freckles: big boy!! I hate time changes with kids!!
@MamaG: good sleep. I hope she doesn't get too sick
@MrsF: that's awesome! It's funny how that works! I still sit behind Ryan to catch him he's wobbly still!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: I love the sitting they look like little people
@MamaG: Nice!!!!!!
Weird night for us up at 9,1,3,5 ????
Nursed only at 1
So I was proud of myself for that!
She is such a talker these days I think she just wants to chat MOTN!
Must be a leap too... she is all over the place!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: ugh I'm sure jetlag sucks! How did he do on the trip?
@MamaG: awesome! Keep it up K with the whole reading of mummy's mind lol!
So I def felt Kara's tooth! It hasn't messed up her sleep too bad yet so I haven't given her anything. Wonder when the next one will sprout.. Crazy!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: yeah leap 5 was pretty brutal for us.. She should be coming out of it soon!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Freckles: sounds like a good appointment! I hope the jet lag resolved soon.
@MamaG: that's great!
@winniebee: yeah - J had one big tumble yesterday Doing pretty well though!
@FaithFertility: sounds like a long night
@snowjewelz: that's great that the tooth doesn't seem to be bothering her!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: Thankfully she went back to sleep quick each time...... was just up singing away as if it was party time and after me listening for 10 minutes each time I had to intervene.....lol

@snowjewelz: Wow, glad it isn't bugging her too bad.... we still do not have a tooth.....lol

M had oatmeal for the first time last night & loved it! Actually kept opening his mouth wanting more.
Think there might possibly be a tooth coming in (he either sticks his tongue out or closes his lips tightly every time I try to check).

@MrsF: Go J. E really mastered sitting in about a week so he'll be a champ in no time.
@MamaG: Awesome night! Way to make it easy on you.
@FaithFertility: lol to the crib party!
Well E did fine at daycare yesterday so thought we were in the clear with just a cold, and then up every two hours last night crying. I gave him Tylenol and finally just laid him next to me and rubbed his back till he fell asleep each time. Poor guy. Dr. This morning and right ear infection, 3rd one now. Back tomorrow for 6 month (aka 6 mo 3 wk) well check.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@AngelicOne: Awesome he loved the oatmeal!
@josina: Poor baby. Bummer for another ear infection. Daycare is brutal on our kids.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@josina: Boo to the ear infection. Poor kiddo (and Momma!)
@AngelicOne: K is not a fan of showing off her teeth either. Very stubborn that one! Woot for oatmeal.
@MrsF: Hooray, sitting. It's so fun, until it's not and they are ready to move... Then the real fun begins. How is big sister adjusting to his new world of sitting?
@snowjewelz: I hope you are finding peace with your formula feeding.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@AngelicOne: just stick a finger in! I could never tell either until I felt it!
