It was a two nap day at daycare today and both of them fair. Maybe the sleep begets sleep will play out in our house tonight. If not we will be up at 12, 2 or 4. One of those has been her wake time for a couple of weeks now.

Does anyone else get a little freaked when their LO STTN? I'll admit it, I do. I'm scared something is wrong.

Last night, Tyler was in the tub and I was about to put Ryan in with him. Tyler shouts "poop is coming!" I immediately said ok get out and get on the potty! He then shouts "no, Ryan!" So I ended up with a load of poop in my hand. Motherhood.....

@MamaG: I hope the night went well!
@winniebee: oh yuck! How do you bathe them together? Do you hold Ryan up? It will be so convenient to bathe them together when J can sit better (although M isn't going to be happy about sharing her precious tubby time)

@MrsF: I put the infant tub in the big tub with big bro! It's tight but it works when I have tondo them both together and my husband is gone. Otherwise my husband bathes with both of them! Both need baths most nights now from being outside /blw!

@winniebee: yeah - that's how I've done it too. M looks at J like he's cramping her style. Oh well!

@FaithFertility: haha, Logan's like that! Whenever we're somewhere new, he just doesn't sleep because there's so much going on and so much to see!
@MamaG: Hope sleep was okay for you last night.
@BandDmommy: Logan doesn't sleep through the night usually, but on the weekends, sometimes he'll sleep past 5:30 and I'll wake up a little panicked!
@winniebee: That was nice Ty tried to warn you...

@BandDmommy: When she does I definitely lean over to listen for her to breath....lol

@winniebee: Sorry, lol. I've gotten pee'd on sooo many times, but luckily no #2... yet! at least it was before he was IN the tub?!
@BandDmommy: I've freaked when he was younger and slept longer stretches, it doesn't happen very often so when it does I have to check on him!
@FaithFertility: Yay, have fun!

@winniebee: haha! better than the tub...
@banddmommy: i did with K, but not so much with E. i'm just happy to have all of the sleep!
@faithfertility: sounds like fun!

D slept from 7 pm to 7 am.. Freaked me out.. She's usually up at 5 or 6.

@BandDmommy: Yahoo!!!!! That is awesome sleep!!! I think the one time G slept like 7-7 was when FPL was here due to power outage and I was up shushhhing my dogs for hours......lol
Her STTN is usually 9-10 hrs but we got a 11.5hr stretch last week
When she does...sttn...lol

@winniebee: hahaha I can't help but laugh! How does he know Ryan is about to poop?!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Enjoy! DH and I are really due for some alone time soon. D's sleep patterns = zero free time, ever.
In order for her to not wake up randomly for 1+ hr I now nurse her to sleep, where she naps and then wakes up and we play until 9:30

@FaithFertility: have so much fun!
@BandDmommy: that sleep is my holy grail! Amazing!

@snowjewelz: it was already coming out of his butt!!!!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
The good thing about starting solids... Kara has so little poop and it's very solid already. It's just always stuck to her butt tho!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: I am a little hesitant because if she does wake which is rare a few hours after we put her down it is a 50/50 shot on being rocked or nursed....DH said it is what it is and he will take the brunt if she wakes.....I said ok

@KayKay: wow!!! Nice 6:30 bedtime, sometimes I think that is where G is headed skipping that last nap and in bed by 6-6:30 I should try it
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: yeah we usually are getting her ready between 6-630. Every once in awhile she will be up til 7 or 730 if her naps were off (and ended up with a third one late) or if we are out and about. It's pretty nice but means we have to either eat before that (ugh) or after (too late for K most of the time).
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: I don't know why but K just will never sleep that early! If she does, she will wake up for sure and stay up for 2 hours.
pear / 1961 posts
@snowjewelz: strange! Prior to STTN, e had been waking up around 10ish most nights (so 3ish hours after last eating). I finally just decided there was no way she was hungry and let her fuss. She cried on and off for about 10 minutes, fell back asleep, and hasn't done it since!

K had her 6 month visit today, I'll post her full stats once I get home, but while she gained almost a pound and a half these past two months she dropped percentiles again. She's only 12lbs 5oz and has yet to double her birth weight.
Our dr recommended increasing the amount of food she eats, right now it's only about an oz per day, without decreasing the amount of milk. Also since dh has been making her food she suggested adding cream to it. She also wants her to come back in 6 weeks for a weight check.
@BandDmommy: I know D is tiny as well, and you said ur dr wasn't concerned, but did they make any similar suggestions for you?
Even with all this I'm not necessarily too concerned, especially since I have my own medical records and there's all types of similar notes in them, like feed her more, fattier foods etc...
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Miss Ariel: MY BF added cream to her DD milk for fat intake I also know they ate tons of avocados... good fat sources

@snowjewelz: J needs more solids (he's not actually ingesting much because we're doing BLW). He's still having liquid poop. Only every few days but he literally needs an outfit change every. single. time.
@KayKay: That's awesome sleep! We're early bedtime people over her too and I totally agree on the dinner timing issue. When M was an infant it was easy because we could just eat after she went down but now that she's a toddler and we like to eat together as a family it definitely complicates things!
@Miss Ariel: Glad that your ped had some suggestions for you. It must help to know that you were the same way as a baby though!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Miss Ariel: first, it's great she is growing! I had some concerns with our first son Tyler (he was just over 13 lbs at 6 months which is like 1st percentile for a boy). He wasn't the best drinker though. Turns out he loved solids and he actually started drinking more once on solids. Cream seems like it could be rough on her belly? We had some suggestions from our then GI doc to put olive oil in purées. I sort of disregarded that advice, fed him as much of whatever as he wanted, and he ended up loving actual food (blw) so that's where he got in more calories (and frankly until age 2 I was pretty vigilant about giving him a high calorie diet through solids). But ultimately at age 1, he was still only 18 lbs and at age 3, he is probably only 27 lbs (haven't had his we'll visit yet). I was only 17 lbs at a year so none of this was terrible surprising though a little stressful at the time. I think you can also add some high caloric formula to breastmilk if that floats your boat. But at the end of the day she is probably just small like her mama. Hang in there!

Ryan still has not STTN ever! The past week has been a lot better - usually down around 730 one waking around 330 (though one night it was 445!) and up for the day around 6. The best he's done in like 3 months. Naps have been so bad unless we are in the car then he binge naps! Early bed time has to happen because his naps are just so bad but I'm not willing to do earlier than 7 just because I know he will be up soooo early. That and we don't have dinner til 6.
