@KayKay: so happy you're getting that amazing sleep!!

@winniebee: sorry that sleep is still such a challenge It makes the rest of the day so much harder!

@winniebee: I hear you on naps we nap in car or stroller now 75% of the time

I'm not sure we will ever get to 11-12 hours of sleep at night. If for no other reason than we really struggle with an early bedtime. We don't get home until 6:00 and then we need to get dinner together, eat, etc. Last night K went down at about 8:00, slept until 5:30 (9.5 hours). Had a bottle and back asleep until close to 9:00a. I'm not going to complain about that one bit!
We've had fair success with naps but they really are hard in that C still naps too. So it feels like we spend a large chunk of the day on the weekends with one kid napping. K is pretty consistently only doing at most 2 naps/day.
K + C both have snotty noses and a bit of a cough. Nothing severe, but not completely healthy either.

@Miss Ariel: they suggested adding another feeding. She weighed 13.5 lbs and she weighed 5 lbs 14 ozs so she has doubled her birth weight. What was your LOs birth weight?

In other news K has got up on all fours a couple of times today. Eek. Crawling is just around the corner
pomegranate / 3045 posts
STTN? What is that?? I just want my 4-6 hr stretches back. H has been up every 1-3 hrs lately. No idea why. Bah. Fun times.
@MamaG: ah!! H is getting close, and has gotten onto his fours once or twice, but is still a little ways away. So crazy to think of them crawling!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@BandDmommy: awesome sleep!! Whenever h gets a long stretch, I get super paranoid. Ha.

@winniebee: omg your bath story. Bahaha. I remember taking a bath with my baby sister when I was little, and she pooped. It traumatized me. Haha
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@KayKay: nice sleep!! Depending on naps, I try for 6:30-7 pm bedtime too.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Miss Ariel: I don't have any advice, but it's great she's grown a pound and a half!!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: 9am! That's amazing, but not too convenient for the weekdays, I'm sure. It's so hard when the naps are staggered between the two kids. Do both girls ever nap at the same time?
@theotherstark: @MamaG: Jack is so far away from crawling it's hilarious My little chunky monkey is just not interested in moving. He's getting a little sturdier on the sitting though!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@BandDmommy: she was 6 lbs 13 ozs. So K was about a pound more then, but a pound less now, which does put things in a bit of perspective.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: we won't ever get 11-12 either the most be older did was 10 and then up for the day. Ryan did 8-4 last night and then tried to get up for the day! Ultimately slept 430-6
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: Did you just put him back in the crib to work it out?
We kept the girls up too late. I'll be so glad when at least C gets to the point of "sleeping in". C's all ready to go swimming. The sun isn't even out but she stripped out of her pajamas after breakfast and is now reading to K in her swimsuit.

DH... Wow G slept like a rock last night didn't wake until what like 6????
Me: Smacking him in face.... in my head.... lol
No sir she woke around 1ish too.......lol
Jeeezzzzzz must be nice!

M started getting up on all fours and rocking while we were on vacation. Think he'll be crawling in no time.
So we got back from our vacation last night. I kinda hate flying with a baby. I hate carrying everything that we needed for for such a long trip (including pump parts & frozen BM since I didn't want to deal with trying to find someone to donate it to while there). Also getting spit up on while on the plane sucks!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: we are at the family lake house so he is in our room and his loud chirping and cooing was keeping me up so I did a few pack and lovey replacements
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: oh my husband hasn't a clue. Every morning he asks
@AngelicOne: welcome back! He will be crawling soon!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: so cute with the swim suit
@FaithFertility: Ooooh husbands!
@AngelicOne: I can't believe he's working on crawling! These babies are getting so big.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: Awww ready for the day... lol
@winniebee: Lake house sounds so peaceful
@AngelicOne: Crawling.... so crazy!!! Lately G will roll right over to her back if on her belly....It is like she is obsessed with rolling again!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: We are the same with that early bedtime.. our dinners often don't happen till 8 b/c dh gets back from work late, so the earliest Ethan goes to bed is 8:30... this weekend though I couldn't get him down till 10 both nights, but he slept in till 9 (up 3x)
Sorry K + C are sick, any better today?
E still has his cold and was raspy again this am, but I think just needed to cough cuz sounded better after. He wasn't nursing much yesterday though so depending how he does at daycare today I might be bringing him to the dr. tomorrow (vs. waiting till Wednesday for 6 month checkup?) I doubt we'll be getting shots this week... I would like to see our reg. pediatrician though.
E is rolling all over the place now... Last week Wednesday was the first time he rolled to his tummy, and now he's rolling like crazy, and belly-sleeping in his crib.
He backs up some, and will roll to get things or spin a bit, but no crawling yet.

I've been reading some this morning on night weaning. I went through C's baby book this weekend and we really need to drop K's night bottle. I believe it's habit at this point rather than real hunger. Boo, I don't want to do this battle.
K is still snotty and coughing, but I think it's just a cold. She seems to be over sitting and flops down onto the ground pretty quickly. I think she's trying to figure out crawling.
She also says da-da constantly and if I try to correct her to say ma-ma she just starts to whisper da-da. Cute, but crafty little shit! She's going to be trouble, I see it already.
I was just thinking this morning it won't be too much longer and we will need to put our baby gates back up. Oh, I don't miss those things!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: awww hope E is feeling ok! He looks happy in your recent IG pics
G all the sudden is a rolling machine again... she wont stay on her belly for nothing... lol
@MamaG: Awww I know about the battles....lol I am headed to the crib July 1st It just will be so much easier when I go BTW to have her out of our room, I hate to do it as our night routine and sleep to me is rather good, but she can't stay forever...lol
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: He's a trooper, he was 'singing' on the way in to daycare so he must feel fine other than his cough/runny nose. If he eats fine today than we should be able to make it till Wednesday, here's hoping.
@MamaG: Aww, cute that she's saying da-da. DH tries but so far we've only gotten ma-ma and totally not on purpose.

@winniebee: Kara doesn't STTN either, she has done it randomly sparingly but def not consistent
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: Kara never sleeps a full 12 hours either~ And we're finding she does better with a later bedtime (defying all norms...)
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@AngelicOne: I can imagine how much stuff to lug around with a baby! Welcome home!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I think I see an iceberg of a tooth! And last night she has this sad/whimpery cry that's very different and seems to be very annoyed with her paci (but still wants it) so I think she is for real teething!
K is starting to army crawl! When left alone she scoots and scoots and scoots till she gets to whatever she is trying to get at! Or she will roll her way there hahaha!
We had a super busy weekend but she was a trooper! Had a bday party on Sat, then church and then an adult bday dinner in the evening. Munched on tons of watermelon and even some corn. I think I feel more comfortable giving her more and more actual food rather than self feeding puree.
Oh and I can tell when she poops now; she grunts, haha!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: hope he's better soon : (
@theotherstark: sorry sleep is bad again. 6 months is a good age to figure it out!!!
@snowjewelz: army crawling!!
@MamaG: sneaky devil! Ryan still just chirps and hollers nothing discernible.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I'm almost scared to write it here but it seems like Ryan's spit up is improving? The GI doc said 6 months....so maybe this will be it? He's definitely eating more solids so maybe that's why? He has barely spit up at all the past few days. FINGERS CROSSED!!! Night sleep has been consistently good the past week....I hope it sticks. My first didn't really "army crawl" so I wasn't really paying attention for that but R definitely inch worms and spins to get what he wants. Yesterday when I left him in a room alone for a few mins, I found he had backed way up and was half under an easy chair. Oops!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Miss Ariel: Xander (my first) continued to drop in percentiles every visit until after 6 months. I've heard that babies don't "settle" on their percentile until around 6 months, so going up or down in percentiles until then is normal. Xander started around 80th percentile at birth and settled around the 13th!
@MamaG: @AngelicOne: Strong babies! I'm still waiting for Logan to figure out ROLLING!
@snowjewelz: Army crawling??? What!!!
@winniebee: Fingers crossed that the spit up is FINALLY going to improve!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Not much new going on with us. Logan's sick again, of course. We have our 6 month visit on Friday. Still no rolling or anything mobile. He likes to stand though while being held. And naps this weekend were SHIT. 10-20 minutes TOPS. Ugh, so frustrating. But he sleeps well at night, so I can't really complain.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@josina: Sorry E's not feeling well
@MamaG: I wasn't a fan of the idea (and I'm afraid to write this), but night weaning J was much easier than I expected. He was eating routinely at 1am and then about 5am but then started adding in a 3am feed too. DH went in a few nights and gave him a pacifier when he cried at 1am and then we made a plan not to feed him until 5am. After a few days he wasn't waking up at 1 any more. DH still occasionally goes in and moves him if he backs himself into a corner and is stuck, but I think that's a separate issue that will hopefully resolve as he gets more mobile. Now I feed him when he wakes up around 5 (sometimes a little before). Sometimes he goes back to sleep for another hour and sometimes we're up for the day but I certainly can't complain!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: Oh how I wished it could have worked for us like that. But even with DH she wants her bottle. She angry cries (with her eyes closed) until you pick her up. Then she's immediately looking for her bottle and is content as soon as she has it. I tried the decreasing bottle size once before (probably closer to two months ago now) and it was a no go. But we all need to sleep!
I'm afraid of the 5:00 wakeup though too. But I think waking at 5:00 might be better than waking for an hour in the middle of the night. I have a hard time getting back to sleep.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@winniebee: Glad the spit up is improving finally!
@Adira: E only had one nap yesterday but it was a couple hours at least. He slept in till 9 yesterday morning, but then wouldn't go to bed till 10!
Our night sleep seems to be better, he's sleeping till 3ish and then till almost 6... soo close to 1 MOTN wake-up.
Pumping is so not fun lately! 4 times in the past 2 weeks I've had bloody milk, twice today, not sure what to do to prevent it, if anything? I don't think it's anything external. Then twice this weekend got milk in the tubes, so need to replace the membranes I think and hopefully thats it? Ugh.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Bad naps def suck too b/c you reply on them sleeping to do things around the house so it's annoying when they don't even give you that! And I hope he feels better, poor thing!
I think she is only "crawling" b/c she is sooo determined to get whatever it is that she wants... If I put anything that's not hers in front of her, she is sooo motivated to get it (ie. my phone!) And I don't know how she figured out that if she keeps rolling she'll also get to said object eventually! Crazy kid.
