I have to share this sweet story.....
Me and G every morning hang while I let the dogs out and enjoy my coffee on the back porch and watch the pups.
I always say to her to listen for the birdies and when I hear one I always tweet and say that is a birdie.
Well tonight we were on the back porch letting dogs out before bed and I had her on my lap...
We were just hanging out and I was sipping my wine..lol
There was a mocking bird right on our fence and it sang really loud... before I could say anything to her....
G turned to look up at me with this huge grin on her face as if to say Mom I hear the birdie!!!!
it was the sweetest thing!!!!!!

@FaithFertility: So sweet and such a smarty-pants! Isn't it awesome to see them learning? It only gets more rewarding from here

@winniebee: he has the "what you lookin at?" face! Haha
@FaithFertility: so sweet!!
Ok, I should have started solids long ago. He had three meals yesterday and he finally had a 5 hour stretch. Before he couldn't go longer than 3 hours at night (last few weeks) but he slept much better last night...and no MOTN explosive poops to deal with!

@AngelicOne: Enjoy!! (Or maybe this was all last night and you already did??)
@winniebee: That picture is AMAZING!! Love his expression!!
@FaithFertility: Adorable!!! I LOVE watching our kids learn new things and see the wonder on their faces.
@Freckles: Yay sleep!! That's awesome!!! I wonder if it was a fluke or if the solids really made that big of a difference!

@freckles: @adira: i know that they say adding cereal to bottles to lenghten sleep is just an old wives' tale, but E started STTN about 2-3 weeks after we started solids...and right around the time she seemed to really "get it" and for real consume some. she's been doing it for 2 weeks now -- there was only one night i had to feed her at 3am. maybe it's just coincidence, but i'll take it either way!

@winniebee: he looks pissed you were holding out on him -- what's with all this milk momma?!

K STTN last night. She had a rough time actually getting/staying asleep originally but she slept until almost 6:00 this morning and then went back to sleep after her bottle. It's only one night and possibly a fluke, but I could really stand for this to be a new normal.

@winniebee: @mrsf: @snowjewelz: @FaithFertility: @adira: Thanks everyone! M did great apparently. Only did 2 short fusses but they were able to calm him down. Mommy got to enjoy a glass of wine & great food :heart:.
@winniebee: Love the steak pic!
@FaithFertility: Aww so cute!
@MamaG: WTG K! M slept crappy last night for some reason. He needs to go back to his 1 or 2 wake ups. lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: woo! I hope it is!!
@Freckles: Glad solids are making a diff! I feel likes since she started solids she sleeps worse, but it's prob just a coincidence. Or maybe she isn't eating enough of it to make a difference (we only do 1 meal right now). I def like the less poop part of it, tho it's very stinky!
@FaithFertility: Awww so sweet!

@FaithFertility: Love that story. I agree, its so fun to watch them learn new things.
@Freckles: Yay for the 5 hour stretch, hopefully it sticks + gets longer! I've gotten a couple 7 hour stretches lately, maybe because of food, or getting rid of his cold/ear infection, or just because? Who knows, but I'll take it.
@MamaG: Awesome! I keep waiting for a STTN so I can write it down in his baby book!
@AngelicOne: Glad you had a good night out!
Ethan is going longer between eating at night, but he's waking up and playing in his crib, last night he was up every 3 hours to eat, but I think he was up more than that playing. 5 am this morning he's beating his mobile off the crib! I guess at least he's putting himself back to sleep but still! Mobile gets moved tonight so at least he'll have to 'play' silently and not wake me up.

@MamaG: That's great! I hope it's a new trend for you guys
@AngelicOne: Sounds like a great date night and so glad that M did well too.
@josina: We had to move the mobile out because anything stimulating is way too interesting for sleep! I hope it helps.

@Adira: @KayKay: It didn't make a difference for LO1 but A had been pooping 6-8x a day that I'm sure it affects how satiated he is at night. We do solids 3x a day and only pooped 2x yesterday.
@josina: 7hours is amazing! I would take it!
@snowjewelz: I think I read it only impacts sleep when solids are established (3x a day).

@josina: hahahah to the crib parties...G practices blowing bubbles/raspberries at 2 a.m. sometimes

Weird day I had 2 letdowns middle of the day? Leaked right through my shirt! Hasn't happened in a few months!

@Adira: Right?!? First time I thought G peeded on me...lol
I am thinking maybe because she ia eating less?

@Freckles: that is awesome!!! I hope it continues. I know it's not supposed to matter but Ryan has slept really well the last few nights and it's the first few days we have let him go to town BLW
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: that's strange! I bet it's with eating less frequently you've got more milk at the ready!
pomelo / 5298 posts
Yup that STTN thing - FLUKE! Her sleep was rotten at daycare yesterday, ONE nap at 9:30 in the morning. She fell asleep coming home at 6:00. And she still has a head cold.
Those of you that have kiddos in daycare - what are naps looking like? At best we get two naps, but clearly there are days where there is only one. At home we shoot for two naps as well.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: Naps at daycare are a crap shoot. Yesterday Logan only had one nap from 10:40 - 12:00. He was pretty cranky when I picked him up at 5:00!
At home, he usually goes down after being awake for 2 hours, so gets 3-4 naps a day usually!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I still wear nursing pads... I'm already battling low supply but I still letdown randomly here & there and I don't like the feeling so I always wear pads.

Our 2 7-hr stretch nights are gone, been up every 3 hours again the past 2 nights, plus he's playing in his crib in between, sleep baby!
@MamaG: He usually has a morning and afternoon nap at daycare. He used to sleep in the car on the way there and back but not anymore, and then I have a crabby baby who wants to be held ALL night.
At home I think we usually get 3 naps in during the day, or he sleeps in later.
Ethan just finished antiobiotics on Monday and we are sick AGAIN with another cold. I feel like he's been sick almost non-stop since starting daycare at 3 months! I want a healthy baby!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: Sorry to hear about E being sick again, but it's sooooooooo normal! Xander was sick for months and months after starting daycare. It wasn't until he had been there for a year that I started thinking "Hey! We haven't been constantly sick lately!!" And Logan's also sick again. He was JUST getting over his last cold and cough and now he has a new one. So sick of it.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: Ditto to being sick of babies being sick! Its June now the sickness can go away...

Well we hit a bump last night sleep training. He just kept crying and he cried so much his little nose was running sooo I nursed him to sleep and put him in his crib asleep.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: aww! it's okay mama, trust your instincts and go in when you need to!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@whenoceansrise: Logan's good about sleeping in his crib, but I often have to resort to nursing to sleep! Do what works.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@whenoceansrise: Ryan still nurses or gets a bottle before bed. Whatever works!
eggplant / 11861 posts
Sorry for the sick babies @josina: @Adira: @mamag:
@whenoceansrise: I agree with the rest, do what works
We still nurse to sleep too!

This little lady hung out at a beach house/pool from
11-2:30 with waking from a nap at 10:30!!! That is 4 hrs awake!!! Of course I tried to put her down, but that was a joke...lol She was having sooo much fun playing with my best friends little girl and watching the other kids swim!
She then took an epic 1.5hr nap on way home and home!!!!
She likes to party
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: So glad that Ryan's been sleeping well - no matter what the cause!
@MamaG: She must have been exhausted! I bet it's hard to figure these things out with daycare in the mix. (although I don't figure them out very well without daycare either )
@whenoceansrise: I hope you guys have a better night tonight
@FaithFertility: She must have been having too much fun!
