Ears are pierced!! She did the silent cry which is a million times worse. Luckily it's over. :). I wanted to do it young so I could make sure there was no infection.

@BandDmommy: I got my ears pierced in HS and it was a nightmare lol!

We tried bananas this morning....... maybe too sweet?? lop She kept making a face as if I was feeding her lemons!!!
So silly! She is sitting a lot better, and not throwing herself backwards every time
Naps are awful I am just not talking about it anymore as I am just not ready to CIO with her and nothing else is working..... lol

@BandDmommy: I bet she looks adorable!
@FaithFertility: haha we haven't tried bananas yet. We did avocado today and he actually liked them! Well, it's hard to tell...he isn't squealing with joy but he doesn't push the spoon away.
honeydew / 7444 posts
@Adira: A will only roll from back to front. And them he grunts and gets angry because he can't flip over. Head is too damn heavy.

Cheerios are a HUGE hit. Peas/spinach not so much, although I can't blame her because I wouldn't be very interested in eating just plain mashed up peas & spinach either. Ha.

@FaithFertility: So sorry that naps are still such a challenge I bet she'll get used to the bananas! It's so funny to watch their reactions to different tastes.
@Freckles: J's not a great roller either. He knows that if he fusses enough someone will flip him back over - not great motivation!
@KayKay: Hard to blame her on the peas & spinach Does she pick the Cheerios up with her fingers or fist? I'm not sure what J would do!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: haha yeah me neither!
Ryan tried raspberries and puffs. He actually ate 2 raspberries :). Puffs he can't really hold so kept putting his face on the high chair tray to eat like a dog but liked when I placed in his mouth. Sort of defeats blw though!

@KayKay: soo funny peas are a huge hit here!!!
Cheerios do you make them soggy? My MIL was saying the other day she would soak them in formula...I thought huh she might like that?!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: hahaha G can get the pinchers going some times but if not she just smacks it over and over and over...lol
pear / 1961 posts
@mrsf: mostly still fisting, but the times she successfully gets a pincer are getting more frequent.
@faithfertility: i don't on purpose. they soften up pretty quick once they are in her mouth...and half the time they end up drooled on or soaked in other random foods (fruit, etc) that are on her tray and get soggy anyways!
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: i consider BLW to be anything i'm letting her control. so if she is hollering at me to shovel more applesauce in her mouth, she's leading!

@FaithFertility: E loves bananas and he can feed himself, just suuuper messy!
No pincher grip here yet...
Any other babies throwing 'tantrums'? E wants attention 90% of the time and if he's not getting it, at home or daycare, he screams/cries till he gets picked up. And he actually threw a tantrum when I flipped his banana for him the other day, cried and threw himself sideways in the high chair for about a minute, silly baby. Too young to start that!
nectarine / 2053 posts
@josina: m wants attention too but instead of throwing tantrums he does this fake cough to get our attention... i tell dh that he's already mastering the "mommy i don't feel good- i don't want to go to school today" thing haha

Out of everything we've tried K seems to liked bananas best. I bought peas and avocados yesterday, so those are also next for us. I normally let her grab the spoon and try to feed herself which she's actually quite good at... At least until she decides it's more fun to hit the spoon against the tray.

@josina: Logan had a mini tantrum yesterday when I took him out of the exersaucer! He was NOT happy! But it was also past his bedtime, so I held him for a bit and then put him to bed!
pear / 1961 posts
@josina: yes! she started this horrific squeal/scream thing that she does if her normal fussing isn't getting our attention. i actually think it's hilarious (for now....).
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: Yess Kara loooves fake coughing! I thought she was sick at first haha!
@josina: K has "tantrums" too if she doesn't get her way. If she's laying down and wants to sit up, she grunts like a lil pig till we help her up! And she def protests if she's not into whatever's going on or wants something to be changed!
I am too nervous to give her solid things to swallow! I'm not good at this BLW thing haha. I gave her a slice of pear to munch on and she loooved it and cried when I took it away. How do you know if they can swallow the cheerios/raspberries, what not!? I know they will gag and it's normal and good... Just so nerve wrecking!
@FaithFertility: Yeah I'm not really talking about her sleep for now lol... I'm not ready to sleep train either!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@whenoceansrise: Too funny! Hopefully he sticks to the fake cough and not the all-out cry.
@Adira: He probably knew it was bedtime... my daycare said he will start screaming/crying when she walks up the stairs now because he thinks/knows its nap time!
@KayKay: lol.. they're lucky they're so cute yet!
@snowjewelz: I freaked the first time he gagged on the banana, I thought he was choking and it'd be all my fault for giving it to him! I've only given him small/soft stuff so far, beans (cut in half lengthwise), quartered grapes w/o the skin, banana.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: Yes to the tamtrums... not really for attention but if she can't get a toy or we take the spoon away
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: yeah naps more or less suck here too. My first kid had it figured out by 6m. He goes down awake and sleeps 30 mins. A log nap every so often but definitely not everday. He is chronically over tired.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: oh yes lots of yelling or crying when we take something away from him or if he chews on something that is not to his satisfaction ; )
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: is the bean soft enough that it will disintegrate in his mouth? does he chew on the grape or just swallow right away?
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: He does 'chew' a little.. the green beans are cooked and soft and I give those to him in small pieces too. I did find one in his diaper though, looked exactly the same as how I fed it to him!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: I hate to say this, but to see your post about E and how he will cry at daycare if she goes up the stairs makes me feel better....lol sorry!!!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: lol, its nice to know we're not the only ones going through these things, whether its tantrums or nap/sleep problems!
Luckily for me he naps fine at home but we don't have a set schedule either, I just put him to bed when he gets fussy.

We're leaving M with the inlaws for a bit so we can go out to dinner for our anniversary tonight. It's been about 4 months since we left him with someone (MIL was the last to watch him & she's here now), so hope he does okay!

@AngelicOne: that sounds so nice! Enjoy your dinner and happy anniversary I'm sure M will be great!

On the topic of food. Celebrated Ryan's half birthday with his first steak:

@Miss Ariel: oh yeah he got pretty pissed when he couldn't really ingest it! I had to break off small bits to stop the yelling!

@AngelicOne: Nice, enjoy!!!!!
@winniebee: he looks so serious, looks yummy!!!!
