@whenoceansrise: Wow, I hope the rest of the night went just as good! That is great he fell asleep quick!!!!!!

Total of 9.5 hours of sleep. He woke up a few times MOTH crying and I went ahead and fed him in case he was hungry then put him in the crib asleep. One time he woke up while I was putting him in the crib and cried for about ten minutes them fell asleep. Each MOTH feeding only took about ten minutes.
Sooo I woul call last night a success especially considering how our first night of sleep training went
Also I didn't move his leg, he moved it himself!

@whenoceansrise: To go from co-sleeping to crib/putting himself to sleep, just shows these babes are so smart and getting so big! Big boy, be proud Mama!

@whenoceansrise: What a great night for Micah!
Put M to bed around 9:30pm last night (which is late for him). He cried for about 10 minutes or so in his crib, then fell asleep and woke twice to eat (around midnight & 4am). He woke once around 2:30am fussing a little, but just shushing him got him back to sleep. Hope these babes continue sleeping well.

We have a tooth! And the second won't be far behind.
I wish we could ditch the 2am feeding.

@whenoceansrise: that's great! I was going to say not to bother moving him so I'm glad you didn't. Sleep training went much better for us this past week too- I can put him down awake now and he will calm himself down.
@MamaG: we have a tooth too! I think the second is not too far behind though. Ugh, A woke up at 10:30, 12:30 and 3:30 last night. He kept pooping!

@whenoceansrise: that's great!!!
Last night was better but not great - bed at 7 after some hysterics. Up at 12, 330, 530 and 630 for day. My husband thinks it's teeth rather than cold. Once this cold is outta here I'm ready to let him cry a little motn. The first wake was clearly a mommy pack move.

@whenoceansrise: Aww yay! Go Micah!@MamaG: No teeth here yet and I keep checking!
@winniebee: Sorry for the awful night! Hope he feels better soon!
We had a good night, he woke around 1:30 again I think and hung out in his crib for probably an hour till I fed him... Wasn't crying so I left him but it'd be nice if he'd fall back asleep. Then up at 6:30 so basically only one wakeup.
His new thing the past two days is crying hysterically till I pick him up. And then he's fine. Needy baby all of a sudden.

@AngelicOne: That is great!!! Sounds like success to me!!
@winniebee: I am saying teeth...I think they hurt far worse then we think before they are noticeable......G chews all day long and now gnaws my nipple when nursing, still no tooth in sight

@josina: awww that is a good night!!!! He just wants to see his mommy....lol and have you join his party!

@whenoceansrise: that's such great news! Glad to hear this time went so much better than the last.

A newborn will likely sleep better than Ryan who was up at 11:15, 1:45, 3:50, 6, 630 with poop and 745 for the day. What the heck?!? I don't know if this is teeth or cold or developmental but I am over it. He's using me as a pacifier.

@winniebee: awwww no it may be teeth!!! G was nursing a lot last week when we had those 2 awful nights..... I've read it feels good on theor gums!
Either way I am so sorry!

@KayKay: yours came with a manual?!?? No fair! The stork must have lost ours.

@winniebee: I'm sorry lady just commiseration here - we had a similar night (up every two hrs). I think it's developmental with h, but who knows. Hang in there!
@whenoceansrise: I'm so impressed with Micah and his rockstar sleeping!

@KayKay: I need this manual?!?! Heck I'll settle for the cliffnotes...lol

@KayKay: I'm wondering if his factory warranty had expired yet...maybe he's broken and I should exchange??
KIDDING.

@theotherstark: he definitely seems more into toys and figuring things out and is trying to crawl. I just hate making excuses for poor sleep.

UGH, just had the most frustrating nursing session. Logan would latch and then IMMEDIATELY pull off to look around. Rinse and repeat for 3 minutes straight with him not eating anything and I finally gave up because he was hurting me. Stupid distracted babies.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Adira: ouch!! I'm sorry h has been fairly distracted lately, too, although for him, it's usually pulling off so he can smile and chat with me, or just babble to himself/the couch cushion. Haha. So adorable. I can't help chatting back to him.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: Ryan often pulls off to blow spit bubbles or coo. That is cute. It's not cute when he pulls back and turns his head when he's trying to tell me I'm out!

For those that have been eating solids for a bit, how much are you eating/meals a day?
I am doing:
Breakfast: 2 TBS of cereal
Dinner: 1-2 cubes(from ice tray) of a veggie and 1 of a fruit
She would have more if I let her.....lol
nectarine / 2210 posts
@FaithFertility: we've been starting slow and are just doing about an ounce or so for dinner. Although we did give her a pancake this morning and while she had fun chewing on it I'm not sure if she actually swallowed any.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: We only recently started solids, so Logan's not having much. He has cereal at daycare... I'm not sure how much, but I'd guess maybe 2 oz. And we've only been giving him half a container of food at home, so maybe 2 oz? He could probably eat more too, but I'm trying to make sure he still has enough milk and doesn't mess up my supply!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: depends on the day but I usually give him fruit in the morning and a veggie in the evening and usually mix it with a little oatmeal. But there are some days we are too busy so he only has one meal. He probably has around 3 oz total a day. Sometimes he wants a whole 2 oz jar sometimes it's half. I usually let him play with some food too or give him something in the teether at some point if I need to distract him.

I need to get a mesh feeder I think she would like to chew as we finish eating!
Night sleep is so funny, no 2 nights are the same
Last bed at 8 up at 10:45 demanding milk.
...lol
Then sleep until 7:45

And our second tooth is through too. Sleep last night was a bit of a mess. I think it had to do with a late afternoon nap and not eating enough during the day. And then a power outage overnight to make her room completely dark and quiet.
I realized this morning that I really suck about keeping her nails trimmed. She has a big scratch on the side of her face. C was a forehead scratcher so I was either trimming or filing her nails pretty much daily. I'm not sure when I last cut K's nails. I know she hates it though!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: We do 2 tbsp oatmeal cereal + milk for lunch at daycare, and then food at night, it'd be 2 ice-cubes of food, usually just 1 kind. He'll do a whole container of applesauce though, loves it.
I gave him a half a banana yesterday in the skin and just cut the skin back as he went, he got mad when I tried flipping it around for him (sucking on the wrong side). He is going to be a independent little boy, and I'm already afraid of the tantrums!
I got a solid 5 hours of sleep last night, woo hoo! He did an almost-7 hour stretch, longest yet and only 1 wake-up. Yay for progress.
@MamaG: No teeth here yet, or signs at all, not complaining! - They're nails grow so fast, its hard to keep up and i only have him to worry about. Luckily he doesn't seem to mind usually and will watch me cut them.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: that sounds like a perfect night to me!!
@MamaG: I'm bad about this too
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I think I want to quit breastfeeding. Ryan is 6m and his spit up is still outrageous. I can't eat dairy or else he immediately pukes up what he ate. I'm sure he reacts to other stuff in eating but I'm already so damn hungry I can't bear to figure it out. He nurses constantly and it's exhausting. He still wakes 2x a night to eat. I'm just feeling over it. But also feel very guilty for feeling this way since technically there are no real issues is gaining weight beautifully and I'm a stay at home mom.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: You know you have to do what's best for your family. As long as Ryan as being fed, gaining and healthy, how he eats is the "right" way. You made it six months, that's awesome! Maybe gradually quitting will help with your guilt?
