@BandDmommy: G wakes a lot too, I turned the volume off of our monitor and keep her door open, I can hear if she cries!
I think your house is WAY bigger than mine so might not be an option, but it helps me sleep...she chats a lot...lol

Also, any recommendations on sippy cups? She does fine with her cup for water but when I put milk in a cup she slaps it away and gives me a disgusted look...

@snowjewelz: Crazy! Once they are mobile all bets are off!
G is pretty content rolling as her form of transportation.....lol

@BandDmommy: B ahahah that is G and a bottle!
We use Tommie tippy stage 1 sippy cups seems to work....some days

@BandDmommy: Yes, diaper changes and bottle feedings are awful. The bottle is okay if there are no distractions.

@BandDmommy: sorry for the late night
And yes - diaper changes are getting more athletic and nursing is even more distracted. When big sis is in the room - forget it! So frustrating when we're going out and I'm trying to make sure he eats first!

@banddmommy: i have a handful of toys i use for distraction when doing diaper changes. they work about 80% of the time...other than that, i've just gotten super-fast! she's still a distracted nurser, but i wouldn't say it's gotten worse since about 4 months or so. girl likes to eat! she just does a lot of whipping her head around to investigate noises.
we've mostly been using the Zoli, which i don't love. but it's nice to have the weighted straw end. i've just been doing water, though, not milk yet.

@BandDmommy: I can do pretty good at diaper changes because the changing pad is right in front of the window and he just looks outside, or plays with this toes.
Nursing on the other hand... he takes a break every couple minutes to sit up and look around!

@BandDmommy: Nursing is challenging for us. Logan's soooooooo distracted, it's hard to get him focused unless he's sleepy. And if Xander's around, forget it. It's impossible!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: I try to stretch out nursing sessions so she is hungrier and more focused haha. Bottle she can take anywhere but nursing I have to nurse her in bed quiet.
Diaper changes are pretty annoying too! All she wants to do is sit-up or roll away
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: there isn't even snuggles on the bed anymore! She just wants to crawl off the bed or reach our side tables and the stuff on it

@snowjewelz: ohhh no!!!! Today G woke from her nap 5 minutes into it crying hard, she pooped and it most have hurt.....lol
Anyway I rocked her back to sleep in the chair and she fell asleep..THAT NEVER happens she will try to push off of me or stand up if I sit
So I cherished it sat there for 30 mins

We're finally making progress with naps AND bedtime. The past couple weekends and the past couple days at daycare, Logan has been doing two naps a day! At home, his first nap is usually 2 hours and his last one only about 30 minutes, but at daycare, both are about an hour. AND the last two nights, he's been going down without being nursed to sleep!!! Progress!!
And now I'll shut up because I'm the asshole with the baby that sleeps well.

She's home. Her heart is still enlarged and lungs full of liquid. She is on lots of medication. We will know more friday.

@BandDmommy: K always tries to climb off the changing table. I try to let her hold something while I'm trying to change her which helps, but we've definitely had some fights doing it.

@FaithFertility: those are the ones we're using too! Although I really just bought it because it had a cute night sky design!

@Adira: That's great! (and you're not an asshole - all of our babies have their strengths & weaknesses )

@BandDmommy: I'm glad she's home with you. I hope that the medications work and that she continues to improve

Has anyone had this happen? We were at dinner and this woman came over and grabbed Darcys hand and started taking pics of her. It was really awkward.

@adira: live it up!
@banddmommy: no way! what a creeper! you might have to make darcy be less adorable.

On "vacation" following along but no time to comment really!
Slee has been so bad on vacation. Waking before 6 every day and before effing 5 last two days. 4:45 today. By naps have been decent.....diaper changes are hard! I let him play with a "non toy" toy. Nursing had to be under a cover if we are out and about. Inside in a quiet dark room. We use the zoli but he can drink from any straw cup (which is crazy to me). Only water so far.

@BandDmommy: Hope the meds help your doggy! That woman sounds strange. Did you say anything to her? lol
We had this weird guy we see at our local coffee shop sometimes, very lightly touch M's leg today and it almost woke him up since he was sleeping in his stroller! DH almost went off on the guy.
@FaithFertility: I have a cup like that too. Tried to get M to use it yesterday & he made me hold it. lol

@BandDmommy: Poor puppy. Hope everything's okay.
And OMG - WTF with that lady???? I think I would've been all "excuse me, what are you doing??"
@winniebee: Ugh, sorry to hear you guys are having a rough go of sleep on vacation.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@BandDmommy: glad puppy is home, and that lady sounds nuts
@winniebee: gahhh sorry
@AngelicOne: ohh I hold it for her too she just started to hold it
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Haha no! It's great to hear progress! Were you actively doing something? Or it just happened naturally?
@BandDmommy: Aww prayers for you guys. My dog is 9.5 so we always talk about how we don't know if she'll be around for Kara to really play with
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: It just happened naturally. We didn't do anything to encourage the two naps. Although he's been eating solids more consistently, so maybe that's part of it??
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Nice! Kara eats 2-3 meals a day on top of milk, and I give her extra formula before bed and nothing makes a difference lol. But I have faith that one day she'll figure it out!!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@BandDmommy: Sorry about your puppy.
@Adira: Nice sleeping! We've been trying to get into a good two nap schedule. It's not been going well, but I've sort of given up and try to just let whatever happens with naps, happen. Eventually we will get to one and I'll feel more in control. And awesome on no longer needing to nurse to sleep.
@winniebee: We are "vacationing" in about a week. I'm not looking forward to everything going to shit, but it's sort of what I expect to happen.
@FaithFertility: I did that the other night (rocked and let K sleep on me). Dad does most of her night time feeds because for a period of time he had the "touch" to get her to sleep easily. I fed her the other night and she fell asleep on me. I just rocked her quietly and cherished it. He came in a while later and was all "is she okay? Why isn't she in her crib?"
K is pulling up on EVERYTHING! She's getting brave and lifting on hand off too and sort of shuffling her feet. Last night she actually let go with both hands and instantly fell (of course). The look on her face was pretty priceless though.
While our spit up is improved, it's still not gone. She's almost 8 months! I'm starting to feel like it's never going to go away.
