@snowjewelz: No big plans here! Maybe a walk now that it's cooling off a little
@josina: Pumpkin butts sound so cute!
@BandDmommy: Go D! M is working on #2 popping through (bottom left one)

Pedi called DH and said her urine showed signs of infection so to come back tomorrow to test again?!
Huh? Bummer!

We've never done urine samples. But we've also not done blood work either which I think is common at 9 months or so for iron.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: they didn't do blood work at 9 mos either which I thought was going to happen since it did with T at out practice in Boston.

@snowjewelz: Congratulations on nursing for so long! Must feel great to wear a real bra
@winniebee: That's amazing! So glad that sleep training is going well. I'm with you about the early feed being ok if they go back down. J wakes about 5:30 but never goes back down . Usually I just shower while he fusses a little and then go back and get him.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@KayKay: That's quite a breakfast! J will pretty much eat everything we offer him too. Sounds like a fun weekend

@BandDmommy: Poor kiddo. I hope the teeth aren't bothering her too much!
@FaithFertility: That's too bad! My kids have never had urine checked. Just out of crazy curiosity - how did they even collect her urine?!?

Night 3 of sleep training - Ryan slept 745-645 and cried less than a minute at 3am!! After taking a 3 hour nap yesterday afternoon
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: fully prepared for Ryan to start waking for the day at 5/530 if he sleeps through :(. Early rising is for the birds!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: I think Ryan might have figured out sleep. Hope you are feeling better rested.

@MrsF: hahah I thought the same when she said it I was like?!?? Squeeze the diaper
They have a small collection bag that sticks on around her area, and you just put the diaper back on over it
She HATED it
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: yeah - that doesn't sound very comfortable. Interesting though!

@MrsF: ughhh they used a mini catheter today to get a clean sample! Great way to start DHs bday!

@FaithFertility: poor baby It's times like that when I'm so grateful that they won't remember!

Oh my sick kids are keeping me on my toes... I thought they were on the mend from their colds so I took them both grocery shopping this morning. M started melting down as soon as we got there, sobbing all over the place. I got her sorted out (with the help of a very kind woman who held the baby for me). Then when J was sitting in the front of the cart and M was "pushing" it, he leaned over the rail and barfed all over the floor! M walked right though it.
Some days if I didn't laugh I would definitely cry

@MrsF: ohhhhh no, poor babies!!!!!!!
I am sorry, how sweet of that women too!

@BandDmommy: @AngelicOne: H has his second coming in, too. He has his bottom left tooth, and the top right tooth is coming in now. Ha. So weird the other bottom one isn't coming in first!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@KayKay: Both good points! It was SO much easier to clean up the floor than cleaning up a child or two!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@KayKay: I'm so sorry. Hope everyone is feeling better today.
@theotherstark: @BandDmommy: @AngelicOne: More teeth! Yah!
@FaithFertility: Hope it turns out to be nothing. I'm curious why the doc does the urine test.
@winniebee: Hope you keep seeing success in the sleep arena.
Where the heck did the weekend go? My house looks like a mini tornado swept through. K has a pretty good cough but it doesn't seem to be slowing her down. For some reason she's having a little party in her crib right now (10:15p - go to sleep!). She worked more on walking this weekend and seems to be walking more than crawling. She's not great at it, but she's getting better. She can get up to standing without pulling up on something now too. In so many ways she seems so much like a baby, but she's doing all sorts of toddler things.

@MamaG: I posted about it, and apparently many are curious too and well asking as if it is not good practice?
Makes me mad, I truly don't know why it is standard at my office ...I should of asked but blindly just did it at her 9 month apt it was collected in a bag so no harm there!
Now I kind of feel bad
I am definitely asking when I get results today!
I love our office and Dr!
P.s. her walking is amazing, little lady!!!!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: I saw the video of her walking, it's amazing!!!
We had a bad night Saturday night - cried a long time and Ferber wouldn't help him so I had to feed. Last night was better. I fed him only at 4:45 am after he was babbling and singing for a half an hour....
@FaithFertility: So my thought is that the way they do the initial urine catch would result in a very high chance of contamination with other bacteria and therefore is an unreliable way to determine if there's bacteria in the urine. The fact that she had no symptoms at all is a red flag....and a catheter is no small procedure. So I'm perplexed why they would have pushed that. My niece had recurrent UTIs as an infant, but they were accompanied by very high, otherwise inexplicable fevers. I hope her test was negative though!
Tooth #2 looks like it has popped through here. Two in one week. Maybe that's why his sleep was so crazy?
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: Who knows , I guess I just trusted that the sample was routine and when it came back high and they suggested the catheter as her levels were high I just thought well they know best
Lesson learned!!!!
She has no symptoms at all, cranky today but honestly I think that is teeth she is a hand chewing, snot nose mess!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: I'm obviously not a doctor that's just my take! And I definitely don't mean it as a criticism of you!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: ohhh not at all, I am learning as I go being a mom...lol
Why I love these boards ask questions, get opinions...etc!!!!!

My normally sweet sweet baby was a cranky pants yesterday afternoon. I think (?) its due to the top 2 teeth coming in. I gave her some advil and then let her beat up (she likes to throw herself at him and then laughs hysterically) her brother and she was feeling fine in a little bit.

@BandDmommy: yeah, top teeth have been worse for us than bottom!
I know, the weekend flew by! Had so much fun but got no house work done. Stayed up till almost midnight last night to re-organize her closet, pack away summer clothes and take out all her fall/winter clothes. I only dare to stay up nowadays since she seems to STTN now (till 5am anyway). But I still have to clean the bathrooms, vacuum and mop
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Thanks for sharing tho! I wonder what happens at her 10 mo appt next week, and I'll def ask all the questions and make sure everything is needed!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: Well, hopefully the test results come back negative, which then you're justified in being a bit upset that they did it at all? And if its positive, then it's good that they caught it pre-symptoms? Let us know how it goes.
We do blood work at the 12 month appt... 2nd time mom's is that just a prick in the toe, or do they take a lot of blood? Not looking forward to it.
@BandDmommy: Too cute about her 'beating up' on brother.
I think I may have a clogged duct? Haven't had one before but the left side of my right breast has been sore/tender since yesterday. These things just work themselves out?
pomelo / 5660 posts
@josina: Make sure to nurse from that side first. Definitely want to get it unclogged so it doesn't turn to mastitis.
