Thankfully C has done well typically with DLS. Both kiddos have blackout curtains in their rooms and tend to sleep while it's dark. K actually sleeps pretty late on the weekends (please don't let me jinx myself!).

I have to admit I'm bad at keeping up with what D "should" be able to do based on her age. Currently, she stands and pulls up without assistance and can take about 10 steps, she waves, points, and has about 5 words. She babbles a lot but I have no idea what she is saying, but she is passionate about it. LOL.

@theotherstark: Me too. K seems to wake at the same time more or less no matter when she goes to sleep! I do not want to wake up at 5:30! I can barely wake up at 6:30 now since it's so dark, haha!

@BandDmommy: haha, I love that. H babbles and is passionate about it too good way of describing. Yeah, I have no idea what he should be doing right now either? Who knows. I figure I would notice if he was super behind with something, and even then, wouldn't get too concerned until his ped was concerned.
@snowjewelz: ha, h wakes anywhere from 5:30-6:45 lately. Hopefully he doesn't start waking up at 4:30

@MamaG: that's great!! Hopefully it doesn't even register with her

@Miss Ariel: With Xander, I didn't start pump weaning until after he had turned one because I didn't have the freezer stash to make it otherwise, so I feel you!
You guys are reminding me that I need to buy whole milk!! We always use 2% for Hubs and me, but Logan will need full fat.
@theotherstark: Not looking forward to Daylight Savings.... what do we do this weekend? Set the clocks back? So my kids are going to be waking up SUPER EARLY??
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Haha yeah that's what we've been griping about!
I'm thinking about putting her to bed at the new time so it'll be an hour late.. In the past if she slept later tho she still wakes up at the same time. Ugggh.

@snowjewelz: some people swear by adjusting 15 mins every night and get to the new time by DST...never works for me / I just deal with it.

@Miss Ariel: So cute!
@winniebee: I just started bringing him straight downstairs for a snack after his naps (dropped one and then a few weeks later dropped the other) rather than nursing. He didn't even seem to notice. More recently I've started giving him some pumped milk in a straw cup so at least I feel like it's being offered to him.

We always just change the clocks and deal with it.
OMG though - J was up for the day at 430 this morning though (and then skipped his AM nap). I'm not sure I can handle 3:30am!

@FaithFertility: it certainly was a long morning
Luckily we got together with a friend of mine and her two kids so that really turned the day around. Our kids are the same ages and it's so nice to be with someone who's going through the same things - just like you ladies. It really brightened the day

We just change clocks and deal with it too. It sucks not getting to really make use of the extra hour of sleep, but even if we are getting up early (by the clock), it's still the same amount of sleep we had been getting.
Those with 2 kids, what are you getting LO2 for their birthday? I feel like we have most of the typical "big" items (play kitchen, bikes/ride-on toys, anywhere-type chair that doesn't get used that much), so not sure what to get E! I'm thinking some sort of playhouse or some sort of indoor climbing thing, and maybe asking the grandparents to do a little piano (she loves music).

@KayKay: Nothing exciting. We are spending small fortune on her birthday so we are probably not going to get her any gifts. But considering we spent $90 on her actual birthday dress and $300 for her dress for 1st birthday pics, I don't feel bad not getting her a gift. She'll never know.

@KayKay: I've been thinking about this, not sure yet. We have the typical big stuff too. Plus Christmas right around the corner. My parents will get him a rocking chair I know that much. I'll probably ask for clothes and books for him for Christmas. He's really into figuring out how things work (screwing things, ball racers, shape sorters, puzzles) so I'm trying to think of something that plays into that.

@BandDmommy: nice! we have this that was a gift for T long ago and he loves it! But that's definitely more involved ; )

@winniebee: It's tall! I posted clip awhile ago on IG with Darcy playing with it. It has groovy roller skating rink music.

Car push stroller
Clothes
My mom is getting her Little people farm
Christmas:
So far we have on our list

My mom ordered her a rocking horse already!!!!

@MrsF: omg 430!! Ack!!! Glad you were able to spend a nice morning with friends though. That kind of thing really does turn the day around! Hope you got to bed early, though
pomelo / 5660 posts
@FaithFertility: I'll give you a little heads up about a ball pit. We had one and sold it. It was a disaster! Balls everywhere.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@KayKay: H is my first, but we probably will just get him one of those little step-stools with his name on it for his birthday and a bunch of Christmas books. I was thinking of getting him a little play tent, but we don't really have the space right now.
A playhouse sounds really fun!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I was set on a PBK chair but now I'm not so sure! I just realized it's pretty big and will take up a good chunk of her play space/our living room space. But I may still go with it b/c I love it, haha!
For Christmas I'm probably getting her some new books and stuffed animals. She's over the flip-the-flap books she used to be obsessed with. And we don't really have too many stuffed animals for her so it's time to start a collection!

@FaithFertility: i have the Little People Fun Sounds Farm in my amazon cart! I'm debating between that and a Roundy Chair for him... decisions!
E is also getting from us a little deer rattle and book 'in my forest' (featuring a deer) since he loves deer.
For those that have chairs (anywhere chair/etc.) do they get used? I 'think' E would like it since he's likes his wood rocker, but an actual toy might be more fun?
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: Thats what I was thinking with the chair... where to put it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: I asked this question somewhere else and I think it depends. Seems like lots of kids love to sit as well as climb all over it, or line up their stuffed toys on it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Oooh, are we sharing gift lists??
Birthday:
Teddy Bear (GUND My First Teddy) - Xander has one that he LOVES and was just telling me that Logan needs one, haha.
Christmas:
Blocks
Megablocks
Books
Clothes
He's getting more than I think he needs, but since Xander's old enough to be into Christmas this year, I want to give them both the same amount of gifts.
pear / 1961 posts
@snowjewelz: @josina: ours doesn't get used that much. E actually likes to climb all over K's right now, and/or use it as a step up to climb onto the couch. I wouldn't say it's been a bad purchase, but not a super-huge hit in our house to the point where I would want more than one.
@josina: e LOVES the little people dollhouse that k has...she plays with it all the time. probably her favorite toy, honestly. it has various buttons/noises that it makes, and she dances to the little songs it plays also chews on the people and drives the car around.
pomelo / 5298 posts
I'm slacking. K turns one in two weeks and I've done zilch. Must go shopping.
She will get a PBK chair for Christmas.
I want a teepee, but we really don't have anywhere to put it.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
For Christmas I'm thinking of doing a few joint gifts for the boys, as well as some books and clothes. My older is very into little people, so I might do a big little people gift, since both would use it. Probably also some duplos for my older.

For Christmas: We are getting D a little people doll house and little people. And books, lots of books.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@KayKay: @snowjewelz: @winniebee: @BandDmommy: Sounds like little people are a hit! I'll def. be making that purchase.
