@Adira: DH is pretty good with her but I think she likes to be close to me sometimes bc of the milk or my smell? She also likes me rocking her.. I wonder if is bc I'm the closest thing to bring back in the womb??
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: I def keep telling myself that this won't last forever lol! Her sleeping really went to the crapper after 3 weeks. Overnight sleep is fine tho since I nurse laying down to sleep then just co sleep.

@Adira: UGHH he is adorable! 1 month already...geeez!
@snowjewelz: I think it is the combo of it all, our smell, the milk, the womb....... that is why they call it a mother's love...I am trying to take it all now, because I am one of 4 girls and we all LOVED our Dad... my poor mom!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: oh haha! I do hope she will be daddy's girl bc that will just melt me! I was never that close to my dad so I hope my daughter will be!
This is her sleeping for almost 3 hrs on me. Surprise I haven't had to pee!

@snowjewelz: Ahhh, so precious!!! And isn't it amazing how long we can go now without peeing now that we're not pregnant??
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I must say I do love reclaiming my body!
Ugh DH keeps suggesting go thaw some BM every time DD is fussy! I'm like noooo!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: That's really frustrating! Tell him to STFU and that this is all normal!! Since your LO regained her birth weight just fine on just your breast milk, you know your supply is probably fine and your baby is getting enough!

@snowjewelz: this is adorable!!!!!!! So sweet!!!
We had an awful evening, DH was changing her and I heard a cry I have never heard so I came running, he shut the wipe container lid on one of her fingers...how the hell that even happens I don't know....she is just fine no marks, but DH was and still is a wreck I can see it in his eyes! He felt awful and had tears! Now I think he shook his confidence!
Poor guy!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Awww!!! That was probably more upsetting for your husband than your LO!! Accidents happen. For a first one, that wasn't too bad! With Xander, I dropped him when he was only a couple weeks old because a spider crawled on my arm while I was holding him and I just completely FREAKED OUT! I felt horrible about it for soooooooo long, but Xander was obviously fine. Your LO will be okay too!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I know he is just concerned and he hasn't read every bf article out there and go on HB like I do haha. He doesn't fight me when I say no! I reaaaally need to start pumping but LO has been nursing all day and attached to me for sleep so I couldn't get anything done!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: aww it's ok!! I'm sure we are all gonna do some pretty dumb things! If LO is ok then that's all that matters!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: oh man! I would have prob done the same! I hate spiders and its prob our reflex!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: So true about them just not reading up as much as we have. And I'm sure it's hard to watch your baby fussing and not be able to do anything to help! How old is your LO again? I just started pumping this week now that Logan is 4 weeks. Before now, it just seemed like he was nursing too often to pump! Even now, it feels like that, but I had to start so I can build a stash before I return to work.

Omg, just got an almost 4 hour stretch that got me 3 hours of sleep, it has been weeks! I hope he keeps this up! I was worried it'd be a bad night since he gave me a 4 hour stretch today while I shopped!
@FaithFertility: I had a big oops already too and felt awful! I was carrying E into his room and got a hair too close to the door frame and bumped his head! He only cried for a few seconds but it scraped some skin, bad mom of the year. @Adira: I hate spiders, how awful!
@snowjewelz: my dh was the same about getting baby a bottle, but I had the Dr. Tell us the same thing week 1 so I lost that battle right away. Now though at almost 5 weeks dh tells me not to feed him so we can get him on longer stretches. It'd be easier with only one opinion in the house but I guess we better get used to it!
I am also able to calm Ethan easier than dh, he is super anxious about it too because in 3 weeks he will be home alone with baby when I go back to work. I hate it just as much though thinking that I won't be here. I always said I would never be able to be a sahm and now I wish I was able to!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: Yay for those longer stretches of sleep! It sucks that you are returning to work so soon, but at least your husband is going to be with the baby. He'll get the hang of how to soothe him soon enough. Plus they are easier to soothe for other people when we're not around.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
OMG, WTF. I can't get Logan to go back to sleep. We've been up for an hour and he will no longer nurse. I'm dying.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: I hope you all are back to sleep by now! I ended up having to enlist Hubs' help and he was able to get Logan back asleep. But now we are up again! I'm so tired! And I can't just sleep in because I'm getting my car inspected this morning.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: awwww we are back up too we have a Dr. apt at 9:15 whomp whomp........lol
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: I am sure DH and E will get in a great routine! Take this time 3 weeks will come fast! I too said I never wanted to be a SAHM but wow that changes quick!!!!!!!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: she will be 4 wks on Thurs. I wanted to start im pumping but she had been so fussy! I gotta just suck it up and start too! I want a stash plus for someone else to be able to feed her!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: ah, it's the worst to have too much advice sometimes! It's like, feed them! Wait don't feed them!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
When is everyone planning to introduce paci if you haven't? K will be 1 mo and I'm so tempted to start bc she is so bad at sleeping if she isn't nursed to sleep!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@snowjewelz: Have you held off on paci BC of nipple confusion? It hasn't been an issue for us at all. They used them in the NICU so we never really waited. N has one brand he loves and it's been soooo helpful with sleep, as he's a major "soothe-by-sucking" baby. I highly recommend it!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: I was waiting til 3 weeks which is now. Will try this week since R is definitely a suck to sleep baby.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I just started pumping this week. I'm trying to pump after his day feeds, although I'm not getting much out. Sometimes when he goes a long stretch at night, I'll pump after a MOTN feed - that's when I get the most out. But it's hard to sacrifice sleep just to pump...
We just introduced a pacifier yesterday when Logan turned one month!! He seems ambivalent about it, haha. Sometimes he'll take it and sometimes he won't. But I got him to fall asleep a couple times yesterday while sucking it, so at least he's not totally rejecting it and I didn't have to nurse him to sleep!

G had a good apt but hasn't gained weight he didn't seem to concerned, but since she is a sleepy eater told me to stay on one side for as long as I can so she gets the fatty hind milk! Man I tell you BF is a science! We go again Monday just to check back, I'm hoping we don't need formula!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: So far no, she is a sucker, but loves her hands, so we shall see!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: has she gotten back to her birth weight? By 2 weeks that's all that is expected!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: no she was 8/7 at birth 8/2 Friday and 8/2 today, close....

Sorry I've been MIA on thread.. Dealing with family drama.. But I've been following
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: what happens when u pump? Also when she nurses do u hear her swallow? How's her poo and pee? Maybe wake her every 3 hrs to nurse until she is above her birth weight? But if her doc isn't concerned don't worry too much!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: haven't broke out the pump yet, I can hear her v swallow and at times she pulls back because the milk comes fast, her poo is the seedy yellow and about 4-6 per day and many pees, I am def not letting 3 hrs go by anymore, I really wasn't but some times would, I'm hoping getting the guns milk will help, thanks
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: yeah everything I read just say wait till at least 1 mo for bottles/paci. We already had given her a few bottles for supplement. I guess I can just start?!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: sounds like she's doing great! Maybe she will just gain in spurts!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: ahh nice! That's what I want! Not to have to nurse to sleep every single time! Bc God forbid we have to change diaper then she is completely awake.
I found out my SIL pumps at 3am I am gonna try day pump first lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: hang in there! K gained back her birth weight by 1 week but has since gained very slowly (3 oz in 7 days). I'm very anxious to see how much she gained next week at her 1 mo check up!
That first week I woke her every 2 hrs to feed her like crazy to make sure she gains back her birth weight lol! I was so stressed!
