@josina: Same here! I'm at work today and then off again until Monday! Loving all the time off, though dealing with two kids who want to play with all the same things at the same time (and NOT together) is stressful!
No advice about MOTN wake-ups. We basically do CIO. Last night Logan woke up and we let him cry for 5-10 minutes and then went in and gave him Tylenol and shushed him and he cried for a few more minutes and went back to sleep. But like I mentioned last week, that didn't work and I ended up rocking him and singing to him before he was able to go back to sleep on his own. Previously, I'd just nurse him and he'd be OUT!

@josina: I feel like he's waking to nurse b/c he knows you're trying to take it away, lol!

@snowjewelz: I know, I think so too, lol. He's nursing more at night than he had been!
And I've had him in bed with me in the morning after 4 or 5 (so I can sleep in) and he'll wake up and nurse like every hour just cuz he can!

@Adira: Now when E wakes up I try to rock him first and he just looks at my chest back and forth, like come on mom. lol.
Loving the time off, but by the end of the day I'm like 'daddy's turn!'.

@josina: I can't bring G in our bed right now, she associates it with nursing?! Which is odd I haven't nursed her laying in bed in forever, except when she was sick a few weeks back, but she will cry for it I think?!
Hopefully that will pass,I miss big bed cuddles!!

so Micah has been refusing to nurse all day. like arching his back and crying every time I try. what!?

@whenoceansrise: My friend's son has been doing the same thing all day today - we're suspecting ear infection Does he seem off otherwise?
nectarine / 2053 posts
@FaithFertility: he's never had an ear infection before so I don't really know! maybe I should take him to a walk in tomorrow?
nectarine / 2053 posts
@MrsF: he's been fussy today. he does have a runny nose. he's been drinking out of his sippy pretty well and has been eating enough solids. but very fussy today! which is definitely not like him.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: either has G so I'm not an expert!! Hope he is OK! Poor guy!
nectarine / 2053 posts
@FaithFertility: he's asleep now. I'll see how tomorrow goes and take him to the walk in depending on how he is

@whenoceansrise: K had her first ear infection this past week. She didn't really have signs except that she took a crazy 3 hour long nap and had a mild fever. But dh found out he had strep the day before so we brought her in too to make sure she didn't have strep. Thankfully that she didn't have.
Also my af finally returned. Kinda crazy it's been so long, but it's kind of a good feeling to know my body is back to working. Ha!

We are still among boxes but it's so nice to be in our house! Ryan is a stage 4 clinger! I remember 12-15 months being a pretty annoying phase in that regard. Walking everywhere seems like crawling will be done in a few days to a week. He's been STTN most nights he last 3 weeks - usually to 530 and then if I nurse then back down sometimes another hour.
Happy new year!!

So many babies acting like real little people now! I let E fuss on and off during her 4a wake up the other night and didn't feed her. Since then, she has been STTN, so yay? But I'm a little sad that we are done nursing.
Hope everyone had a great NYE, and can't wait for these babies to grow another year older "together" 🙃

@whenoceansrise: we have had symptomless ear infections here too. My doc actually gave me the option to treat or just let it play out. I chose treat since it seemed weird to not if I knew it might be bothering her (her sleep had been a little off but who knows what the true cause was). But that made me more comfortable not worrying about symptomless ones from now on!

@winniebee: Yay for STTN!!! yep G pretty much is exclusively walking about 80/20 I'd say, so cool!!!
@KayKay: Nice!!!! Sorry your nursing journey is ending!!
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: thanks! I didn't have any specific goals or anything (other than a year-ish). I think I would've been a little sad no matter when it happened! And like you said before, definitely easier to do it now than later when they remember it more and can put up more of a fight if you refuse. Also I'd love to start NTNP/TTC soonish...

@KayKay: congrats on 13 months!!! So you are in camp 3 kids now?

I'm dreading Monday so much! Been off for almost 3 weeks!!!! Reminded me of my LONG maternity leave! But I'm blessed with a job that I can do so!!
Think we are going to try size 5 dipaers! Size 4 seem to be leaving marks these days!?
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Miss Ariel: We've had symptomless ear infections as well. Glad she didn't have strep!
@winniebee: unpacking boxes with babies around is a totally different game! Glad you're enjoying the new house and that R is sleeping better
@KayKay: The end of nursing is definitely bittersweet I didn't know if you were planning on a 3rd - that's exciting
I'm still so on the fence - something seems to sway me one way or another every day!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: That's great that she's walking so much! J is still firmly in the cruising stage. Any other non-walkers left?
M was a late walker so I'm not really surprised, but I'm a little eager to see him toddle around, even though that brings more challenges!

Ohhh and decided to make spare bedroom a playroom.for now well until #2 comes along! Hopefully soon total baby fever, I joined the Jan POAS thread

@MrsF: Awww it does bring challenges! I love being in he kitchen doing something and in she walks so cool!

@winniebee: @mrsf: well we are definitely in the NTNP camp for 3 at least! We used clomid to conceive K and then E came naturally when we were NTNP. I don't really ovulate regularly (hence the clomid first time!) so we are just going to see what happens. I'm not sure we'd seek any treatment for a third so who knows!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@MrsF: K will take steps, but when she wants to go somewhere she's still crawling.

Anyone pacifier weaning? Daycare decided to stop offering at nap last week and said she did well. I'm not ready to take the leap at home yet. We are certainly limiting to sleep and the car now though.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: nope she never took to one, or a bottle or a sippy cup kinda sucked in the early days but now I don't have to wean from any of them!
It's so hard to take a "leap" into change......I think that is why I also held on to that last nursing session, I was afraid of how she would go to bed for the night then!
I'm sure if she is OK at day care, she will be OK! Good luck!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: we let C keep her pacifier until 17 months and it was much easier than I expected. I know k will do fine, but I'm just not interested in trying yet.
nectarine / 2053 posts
@MrsF: Micah is cruising! He's taken a few steps but definitely not walking yet!
@FaithFertility: we're still at the walk in! Been here for almost 4 hours... Ugh! Doctor just came in and said he saw some fluid in his right ear but saw that his throat is red so now he's testing him for strep. Poor baby!
nectarine / 2053 posts
No strep! They are putting him on antibiotics for an ear infection
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: omg 4 hrs?!? I'm so sorry!!!!
Glad he got some meds!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@whenoceansrise: wow! I can't believe you guys had to wait so long. But at least you know now what was going on. Hope Micah feels better!
persimmon / 1050 posts
@whenoceansrise: Feel better soon Micah!
@MamaG: M never really took to the pacifier, so weaning for that. Working on bottle weaning though.
@MrsF: M isn't walking yet either. He's definitely getting more daring with standing & letting go. I did get him to take 1 step/lunge to me yesterday though.
