@KayKay: I think EVERY kid I've seen/come in contact with lately have a runny nose...

@AngelicOne: Moving with kids is no fun - but it's always nice to have more space!
@snowjewelz: So glad that K is doing better! And yes to you and @KayKay: on the runny noses all around. Our whole house seems to have a perpetual cold.

@KayKay: In the past I have actually always had high iron, so I didn't worry about it too much with E. If it's still low I'll have to invest in a nice cast-iron skillet.
Luckily he did eat much better yesterday, so maybe he just wasn't feeling well from the shots the day before.
@snowjewelz: Runny nose over here! Its amazing how much things change as a mom, wiping runny noses and picking boogers don't gross me out anymore, lol.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: We high five when we can pick a giant one out of her nose, hahahaha! And I literally have boogie wipes in my pant pockets, shirt pockets.. Half the time I don't even know if they're clean or not..............

@MrsF: we have had colds/sickness in some form or another since right before Christmas no fun!! I guess it's that time of year.

I think we are heading toward one nap... J still takes a great morning nap, but has been resisting his afternoon nap or just napping 20 minutes or so I think this is what was happening when we switched M to one nap. It's so hard though because he seems so ready for his morning nap. We'll see! It's also hard to change the schedule because M has activities, preschool drop off / pick up, etc. We'll see!
Our nanny is here Tues, Wed, Thurs this week, so maybe I'll just give her free rein to experiment (such a cop out on my part )

@mrsf: cop out away! working has plenty of downsides...you might as well relish the benefits (e.g., people tackling some of the hard issues for you!). i REALLY miss all the things K learned at daycare while going FT!!! one of my old coworkers said that basically not having to potty train his kids was totally worth all of the daycare payments. hahaha

@MrsF: haha no that's great! I think we might be heading to 1 nap land too, BUT she takes super short morning nap and takes a super long afternoon nap. Today DH happened to get her down earlier enough both times, but most nights she's up till 9:30pm!
@KayKay: Hahaha wow I can't wait for them to do potty training for me lol
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: We are at 9:30 bed times too.. my goal is always 8:30 but it doesn't happen often!
I bought E a training toilet a couple weeks ago so he could get used to it, so far he just likes to stand in it
@BandDmommy: First days are so hard.

@MrsF: No Cop out!!!!! Hahaha I hope her sitter does potty training

@snowjewelz: Glad K is getting better!
@BandDmommy: Awww she will rock it!!!!

Speaking of PT my Mom asked me yesterday when I was going to start?!?!?
I mean what is he earliest?!?!
Now just seems CRAZY to me!

@FaithFertility: they need to show signs of readiness.. Ability to pull down pants, knowing when they are wet, communicating they need to potty, etc.. No way is that anytime soon!!!

@BandDmommy: Right?!?! I think she has fuzzy memories of us as babies
honeydew / 7283 posts
@KayKay: @snowjewelz: I know it! I feel like it's easier for the nanny to switch things up because she doesn't have these crazy parental anxieties that I have!
@FaithFertility: We potty trained M when she was just under 3 and it was the perfect timing for us and was much easier than I expected. I wouldn't have done it any earlier but each kid is different! It seems like a lot of people on HB potty train before most people I know IRL.

C took an interest in the potty just before 2. It was certainly all at her lead. But she didn't night train until after 3. So a very long gradual process for her.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Since I seem to be baby led everything so far, I'll prob wait for her to tell me when she wants to be potty trained too lol
And while we are on the topic, here is K pooping tonight lol
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: Wow! That's awesome! I can't even picture what potty training looks like at that age. I would say fingers crossed for J to train early but that seems doubtful. All in good time

@MrsF: having a child that is obsessed with public restrooms isn't always a blessing.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: yeah, there is definitely a convenience factor to diapers!
As soon as we have a full grocery cart M always needs to pee. So I'm trying to hold J because, gross, while also lifting M up on the high toilet. She sits for a minute, looks at me and says "mom, I think this is going to take forever"
We have to laugh so we don't cry

We potty trained right before 3, but we really didn't train. He was ready and did it himself. Boys tend to be later to potty train because their muscles develop later than girls. So, many girls potty train around 2/2.5 whereas boys it's more like 3.
@snowjewelz: glad the rash is gone!

@BandDmommy: transitions like this are tough. I'm sure you will both do great.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: Aww it will be ok mama! First time is the hardest!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I'm behind, sorry ladies! Hope everything is going okay with everyone. Sorry @BandDmommy: about starting daycare - that's hard.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@BandDmommy: Glad she did good at least! So hard.
@winniebee: Good to know that boys are a bit further behind. A coworkers daughter is already showing interest at 18 months!
E was up from 1 till 3 last night for who knows why. Nursed, back to bed, 20 minutes later crying, repeat, 3rd time gave water, repeat. In to bed with us and nursed forEVER before he fell asleep. Ugh.
Ready to be done nursing and hope that he will start STTN again. He has just started to pull down/up my shirt looking for it, so... time to work on weaning completely.
**Oh and good news, E's iron is now in range so I don't have to worry so much about what he's eating! Ped. said I could keep giving the supplement as long as he doesn't fight it, so I will keep doing so for now. Yay!

@BandDmommy: I hope you can find peace with your new normal. I bet I'd struggle after all this time with my girl too.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: yeah my older definitely showed interest around 18 months. he even peed and pooped on the potty before 2! He definitely would do it every day starting around 2, when he wanted to. I never pushed him anymore than that, though, and I think that's why we ended up having a really easy time of it when he was read!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@BandDmommy: Oh that's so hard I bet she's having a blast though!
@josina: That's great news about his iron! Must be a relief

@MrsF: I love this center, they provide such detailed updates and LOTS of pics!!
