So I officially have the easiest baby - sorry ladies! Today, I put him down in his bassinet swaddled but awake and he just fell asleep on his own THREE TIMES!!! It didn't work this last nap - I had to hold him, but his day naps, it was amazing!! He used the pacifier for two of them, but didn't for one of them.

@Adira: glad you had such a good day... and jealous! I thought I was due for an easy baby after my first colic monster. Oh well!

@Adira: so jealous!! But that's great!
K was a little fussy tonight but I chose to nurse to sleep vs paci still. I Don't know why I'm afraid to try it!

@snowjewelz: Hey, do what works!! I've been trying the pacifier so that Hubs has another tool to use when I'm not around (although I'm always around...) and because it was the tool that helped me stretch out Xander's MOTN feeds, so I wanted to introduce it now so that I can use it to stretch out Logan's at some point!

@Adira: both B and D are/were super easy babies.. It's toddlerhood that's been a kick in the pants

@BandDmommy: Good point! Xander has definitely been more challenging now that he's a toddler. Thankfully he's still a good sleeper, so maybe I'll get lucky there again.
Happy 2015! I'm 31 today!

@Adira: Happy Birthday!!!!
Happy 2015! We must be having a growth spurt, we partied on the boob all night just put her down in swing, I'm praying o can catch a quick nap!

@BandDmommy: @Adira: interesting! M was a nightmare baby but so far a really awesome, easy toddler. I guess they all have their moments

@MrsF: we swaddled my first religiously but this one seems to get pissed about it! I still do it and keep trying. Agree with the sleep sack and white noise too!

My first was neither an easy baby nor an easy toddler. He is very high energy and willful and was that way as an infant! But he wasn't super difficult either. He is incredibly funny and really good when we are out and about and for others. He never misbehaves except at home and is so social! Not a great sleeper but not awful and slept through earlier than most without sleep training. A mixed bag I guess! This one seems a lot like his brother so far.....

It looks like we have hit the point of mostly 2 hour stretches at night. That sounds so horrible as I write it lol but thank god as he is 23 days old!!

Where are you guys playing white noise from! Sound machine? Phone app?
I so far just have a sleep sheep that I haven't used. And we havent really used any white noise.

@winniebee: those 2 hour stretches have been a long time coming! Glad things are looking up a little
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: we have a marpac dohm sound machine for each kid (still use it with m at 2 years to drown out noise when she's sleeping). Right now we have it going in our bedroom to soothe the baby and also drown out some of his grunting, etc so we're not waking up for every little thing.

@Adira: happy birthday!
B has always been a good sleeper. He's just very high energy. If you keep him stimulated he's great, but it's tiring keeping up with him at times.

@snowjewelz: we don't do white noise. Our kids can sleep through anything. We have 2 very yappy dogs.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: I have a cheap noise machine and projector from amazon. My baby soundspa. We states using it at 8 months with my first And he then starred going 10 hrs straight regularly instead of sporadically. We sleep with a fan on in our room and so that's all the white noise we r using for baby right now.

@Adira: happy birthday! Seriously, so jealous that you get easy babies! Did he just take the pack automatically? Mine spits it out after 15 seconds, and it is tiring putting it back into his mouth.
@winniebee: ugh, mine gets angry with the swaddle too. I can only swaddle him after he has fallen asleep.
I got a nice 3 hour stretch, but the rest of the night was me going through 3 shirt changes for myself because he spit up soo much, multiple poopy diaper changes. Finally when he fell asleep on our bed and I thought I could get some rest, DD woke up and wanted to come in.

@Freckles: Awww I feel you on the changing, we have a new thing where right as I or DH is about to re diaper her she pees or poops....lol We have learned our lesson and immediately put a new diaper under her...lol

I completely forgot to pump today! I read that you should start pumping at the same time everyday; there will be at least 2 days when I can't really do it in the morning since I would be alone. So I'm thinking maybe night time??
We finally introduced a paci; she sucked on it for a little but didn't seem to do much magic. I am also confused about whether to give it go her or if I should just nurse her. I would never give it to her right after feedings since she would either be asleep already, or have some awake time. But by the time she gets fussy it'd be kinda close to next possible feeding that I don't want to mess up our nursing. Ahh so confused!

@snowjewelz: I had no idea you had to pump at the same time every day. His feeding needs are so unpredictable and sometimes I have no time! I try to pump either in the MOTN or early morning bc my output in he afternoon/evenings are so low. I usually pump with DS on my lap!
I also wasn't a fan of the sleep sheep bc it shut off after 45 minutes. I had to go upstairs right before the 45 minute mark and prepare to press play so she wouldn't wake up. I'd use a soundtrack or an actual sleep machine.

@FaithFertility: oh yes, always have another diaper ready! it's the worst when it's a boy bc the pee goes everywhere! I wasn't prepared for the shooting pees since LO1 was a girl.

Just popping in to say I'm sooooo worried about tonight! Logan has been sleeping ALL day!! He's only had one hour of awake time this morning and has since just been eating and sleeping.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: I find it so hard to predict what the night will be like. I hope you're wrong!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: besides a two hour stretch this morning and a one hour stretch this evening Ryan has been sleeping allll day as well. He just fell asleep again and I'm going to wake him at 9 to eat and go to bed!
@snowjewelz: I have been giving it the past few days when I can't get him down for a nap or when he is fussy after a feeding and doesn't want to eat more. Aka if he has eaten and it's been only an hour and he is fussing. I figure if he is hungry he will let me know. I don't think he needs to eat every hour at this point esp if he had a double boob feed.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: yeah I don't think it's possible for me to pump at the same time either.. I'm not sure when I read that! How do you know when you have the best supply? I can't reslly tell!
I offered her a soothie twice, she didn't seem to care for it. I guess I'll keep trying!
pomelo / 5660 posts
LO seems to be pretty steady in her pattern, she sleeps for 2 hours or 3 hours with around an hour awake time. We just did cluster feed...
pomelo / 5660 posts
@snowjewelz: I pump everyday around 2. I'd like to pump earlier but I can't do it until my toddler is napping and he naps 1 - 4 pm.

How are your little ones doing with tummy time? Darcy is sooo strong and she tries to plank and roll. Slow down baby girl!!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: in general most women have the most milk in the morning. I exclusively pumped with my first and never pumped at the same times and it was never an issue.
