@FaithFertility: does she wake up from naps crying too? T always would wake up happy in the morning, but unhappy from naps. I thought it was overtired behavior, but in the end I think it's just how he rolled.
Thanks.! I'll keep you posted.

@winniebee: At home she wakes from naps crying most of the time :(I asked her sitter she sad she is awake and talking! But wakes to the other kids and talks to them!
Mom fail
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: I don't think it's a mom fail. She's just saying, "mom I want you right NOW!" Ethan used to wake up crying from naps/nighttime, but lately he'll get up and 'play' (throw everything he can onto the floor) and yell till I come get him.
Maybe she's used to someone being there when she wakes up since they're are other kids at daycare??

@josina: That makes sense and she has nothing in her crib she hates blankets and such so no fun in there
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Or it could be those damn molars, haha. K sometimes let out a random cry in her sleep... Is this the age for night terrors yet?!
Re-cap from my FB post last night - K did pretty well! Wasn't really cranky. Actually still fought bed time after being up for almost 7 hrs and would only go to sleep after I wrangle her into my carrier. But slept from 7:45-7:30!
DH asked teacher to let her nap later if possible since she woke up so late and we're trying to stick with 1 nap. So I'm interested to see what today brings...
I def feel like a new woman being able to get all my chores done early and able to take a long hot shower AND got myself ready for work before she woke up!

@snowjewelz: I was thinking night terrors, but I'm not sure?! She is OK once I am in there, happy the minute I pick her up!
I just think when she wakes she is pissed and wants us ornout
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Probably also they're at the age where they're just so hyper aware! K wakes up every morning and waves to us right away and says hi, lol.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Ohhh yes she will kiss me if she is in bed with us
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: Night terrors, you will know them when you see them. THey are not consolable when they occur.
I would try to give her something in her crib. K has pacifiers, a small stuffed animal that she snuggles with and a couple of lovey blankets (like a 12 inch square with a head attached to it). She will occasionally wake up crying, but mostly she will play quietly.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Def can try to introduce a lovey again.. Can't hurt! Sleep with it first so it smells like you. K LOVES her blanky and I've seen her stroke it MOTN (the bunny ears lol) and she looks for it in the morning and clutches it going to sleep.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: @MamaG: yeah definitely can't hurt, although I tried a small blanket a few weeks ago and she flipped out
Would not lay in crib with it in there!

@snowjewelz: so sweet! She LOVES her baby doll, but she is plastic?! Maybe I can find a doll lovey
pomelo / 5298 posts
K has this guy and loves him. Honestly though, she loves tags. If she can find a tag to hold and rub on just about anything, she's happy.

@MamaG: The elephant is soooo cute!
K has this one -

And I had gotten her a similar one off Amazon as a back up (that one goes to daycare). She HAS to have the long ears b/c she like.. strokes the ears to self soothe, lol.

How are all the toddlers doing on speech? I know the girls are kicking butt it seems like...
E was saying a few words at 12 months - Deer, Dad, Mom, Kee (kitty), Down - but now he doesn't say any, other than Dad really. Should I worry about that?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: I think I've read that girls typical babble more than boys? I think there's an 18 mo language explosion coming up?
I don't know whether being a bi/tri-lingual household has anything to do with her talking so much...
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: I've heard that too so not going to dwell on it too much, especially since I know he hears us and understands. I should work on some more sign language, we've just got 'more' down for now.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: Ryan's only words are dada, mama, and that ("dat"). Tyler didn't have words until 15 months and so I'm guessing R will be the same. He's not 15 months for another week or so.
nectarine / 2053 posts
@josina: M is still only saying "mama" "dada" and "uh oh" I'm ready for him to start saying more things!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@josina: We just had our 15 month well visit yesterday and our pediatrician was mostly concerned that she is in fact babbling. K will say mama, dada, hi, bye and beep pretty consistently. I wouldn't call her highly verbal. C had her language explosion around 18-20 months and she went right into stringing words together at that point. She was very reliant on sign language to that point.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@josina: J was 15 months yesterday and he's still not saying much of anything. He babbles a lot and says "dat!" to everything, but that's about it. I'm a little concerned because he doesn't even consistantly say mama or dada or really repeat what we say. He has his 15 month apt next week so I'll see what our pedi thinks.
M could practically have a conversation at 15 months, her vocabulary was huge, so it's hard for me not to compare the two
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MrsF: Sounds just like E except he was saying words and lost it.
We don't have another well check till 18 months.
@MamaG: I'm excited for the language explosion!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: G has a zillion words do they count if prompted?! Like I can ask her who her friends are?!
Or I say one word like Little and she will say star?!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: haha prompting totally counts! We asks K "Who is Kara" and "Who does mommy/daddy love?" and she pats herself and says, "meeee!"

Lovey night one fail, but I gave it to her sitter to give for naps too
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: ughhh more has been replaced with a screech these days
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: lol! I think it can take a while! K had been holding that lovey since like 6 months!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: yeah, I'm thinking to try a night light too, might be too dark MoTN?! IDK?!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: Do you use white noise? Could some random noise be waking her up (like the A/C kicking in)?
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: we do and she has a fan that is usually on too... I thought that might be too much noise?! Trying to weed it all out because this is not like her and getting old....lol
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: try the nightlight. I use one with both boys.
nectarine / 2210 posts
K has picked up a ton more words lately. Hi, bye bye, uh oh, mommy, dada, baby, hot, outside, ball. Those are all the ones I've heard although dh claims she says tree as well.
persimmon / 1050 posts
@josina: M still says mama & dada. I think he's said up before. We're working on up, kitty, dog & ball and signing more, please & book. He babbles a lot (sticks his tongue out a bit, moving it back & forth while talking....so cute!). He has a 15 mo appt tomorrow so I plan asking his ped about it.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I finally got my fingers in Ryan's mouth and he had his upper molars. So, 9 teeth.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: awwww those are sneaky teeth, G has her bottoms buds for awhile now!!
I turned on G's closet light and shut door to add some light she slept 7:45-6
praying this continues
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I only see her molars when she's laughing, hah! She has had her uppers for a while and with all the excessively drooling before, I believe the bottom ones are fully out now. What's next? Canines? Or more molars?
@FaithFertility: Oh so maybe she doesn't like the dark! I realize that K recently hates it when I turn off the light! Are they suddenly afraid of the dark?!
