how are naps? anyone transitioning to one nap? m seems to be wanting to drop his afternoon nap so i think we're going to try to start pushing back his morning nap to around 12:30-1:00
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: naps are good here when i don't stress out about whether it's 2, or 1, or whatever! we're still mostly on 2.

@whenoceansrise: Sleep is crap this past few weeks! Last night was awful again
Naps on weekends I just don't know anymore.....lol
She naps great at daycare 12-2 ish

G held onto me all night last night?! Separation anxiety maybe?! Went to bed fine but at 11:30 screaming bloody murder?
Finally at 12:30 I couldn't keep trying to get her back down and in bed with us she went again!

@FaithFertility: Awww. Maybe she knows little brother and sister is in there?!

@whenoceansrise: M is usually on 2 naps. A couple of times he's done 1 nap (30-45 min...not fun days!) and the other day he took 3 naps (has been sick, so think that was a fluke). As of right this second, he's in his PnP fighting his morning nap, but yesterday he tok a 2 hr afternoon nap. I don't know with this kid LOL.
@FaithFertility: Awww

@snowjewelz: Yeah - J's feet don't look big but I guess they are!
@whenoceansrise: We're sort of forcing the 1 nap transition because he had started refusing his PM nap which was messing with his nighttime sleep. It's been a rough week because he's tired mid-day but I'm keeping him up until 1. He'll sleep for a good chunk then but it's not easy getting there! I remember going through the same thing with M though so we're going to tough it out...
@FaithFertility: Poor kid Does she seem ok today?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@whenoceansrise: We're on one nap. It's usually noon to 2:00 with bedtime at 7:30.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@whenoceansrise: R still takes 2 most days. Sometimes 2nd nap is from 3-4:30 in which case bedtime is a little later, like 8/8:30. He's fairly flexible. When he has 1 nap he goes to bed super early.
nectarine / 2053 posts
@snowjewelz: haha stress free is always the best way
@FaithFertility: aw, dang. i'm hoping sleep and naps start getting better for you!
@AngelicOne: haha oh man that one short nap does not sound like fun!
@MrsF: Micah has been doing the exact same thing! DH was able to keep him up until 12:30 today. We're just going to make it happen!
@Adira: that sounds like an ideal schedule!
@winniebee: yeah, micah has been fighting his 2nd nap and hasn't been actually falling asleep until too late and it messes with his bedtime routine.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: K is asleep till 4 ish when she has daycare too. But even when she's up by like 3-3:30, she still falls asleep at 8:30 on the dot.

@FaithFertility: I saw your post on another thread. People just don't get as excited about second (or third) pregnancies. I wouldn't read too much into it.

@winniebee: Thanks, I am more concerned with her not happy that I will be off again next year!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: well no employer LOVES having their employee out so I'm sure she's thinking about missing you too! But that's life!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: Very true and there are 4 women giving birth between now and next Oct I make 5 that I know of!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Logan hasn't even fully gotten walking down (walks a few steps, falls, tries again, is very slow, etc.) and he tried to tackle jumping over the weekend! WTF???
eggplant / 11861 posts
I really need to stop thinking about G and naps/sleep!
I think my kid has very low sleep needs! I am the same way(well not right now)
She napped 9:00-9:30 yesterday then 1:45-2:15 bed at 7:45 up at 5 got her to fall back asleep with us until 6:30
But she is so happy during the day, I just am so tired these days Mama wants a nap
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: That sounds similar to Xander's schedule before he fully weaned and before he was on one nap. Unfortunately, it's normal!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: Yeah I think it is the 1 nap transition at home, she does it every day at her sitters so I just need to roll with the punches
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Xander wasn't on one nap at home until 18 months, even though he was at daycare much earlier.

@Adira: Go Logan!! Henry started jumping last week! I hadn't even thought about that for some reason, but it seriously is the cutest thing ever!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@theotherstark: That's impressive! Jumping at this age is pretty advanced!
To be clear, Logan's not really jumping - he's just bouncing with his feet on the ground and then falling over, haha.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had great weather here (spring preview!). Kara's been a mess this weekend! Her nose started running like a faucet again, with bad congestion/cough. We haven't brought her in though since she has no fever.
On top of that she has been drooling like CRAZY, soaking through bibs by the hour. I don't think it's ever been that bad! I see both top and bottom molars out, so who knows what's happening.
And she's been fighting sleep like no other.. I don't know if it's the sickness, the teething, leap, or all! She has not been taking long naps either, and fights bed time till after 9pm (and her last nap would end at 3pm too!). It's kinda funny though, I ask her if it's time for bed and she just says no
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Adira: haha! He only does a real jump getting air about 75% of the time still! and obviously it's not very high Just an inch or so off the ground. but he loves it and thinks it's the best thing in the world.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@snowjewelz: oh my gosh, what a sass!! Ha I love it. Sorry about the fighting sleep, though! That's no fun.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: Aww I love it when they discover new abilities! H is seriously so much like a big boy, it's craaazyyy!
I'm surprisingly doing pretty well with the fighting sleep thing! I think I really just let go of all of my standards, and just enjoy it when she sleeps like an angel, and try to understand that she's going through something when she sleeps bad!

Ryan's had a fever and a gnarly cold since Friday. Super grumpy and clingy!! No fever today, refused his morning nap and at 11 was a disaster. He has never not had a morning nap (always takes morning sometimes refuses afternoon) so this should be interesting!
nectarine / 2053 posts
so since it's been so nice here, (in the 70's!) we have been taking micah outside a lot and he loooooves it. he cries when he has to go in. and now he'll find his shoes and bring them to us to put on his feet then stand at the door and point. i think it's so cute that he knows that putting on your shoes means you get to go outside. haha!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Poor guy! Hope he feels better soon.
@whenoceansrise: OMG, that's adorable!!!

I wish we were spending more time outside. It's been amazing weather, but the trees are already budding which means pollen is out of control. We all seem to be impacted by it and are all currently battling a cough. I'm so tired of the kids coughing to gagging.
About this time every year I get the itch to pack it all up and move somewhere with better air quality!
@winniebee: sorry for you and Ryan. Poor kiddo.
@theotherstark: Nicely done on the jumping.
@Adira: We have the same thing going on here. Lots of bottom bouncing, with an occasional foot stomp thrown in for good measure.
@whenoceansrise: K sits and tries to put on shoes (anyone's shoes!) when she sees someone else doing it.
@snowjewelz: Sounds like teething!
Anyone got canine's in yet? I keep thinking K should have them already. She was chewing her hands a fair amount this weekend. Maybe they are on their way soon?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: K is chewing her hands like mad too, but I can't tell if it 's just more molars or canines. I suspect canines too, since she already has molar outs and she wasn't acting this way before!
Oh man, no looking fwd to allergies!
@whenoceansrise: So cute! Their ability for associations is amazing!
@winniebee: Hoping for the best! Both for R and for you
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: No canines yet. We officially have 8 teeth now though, haha.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@winniebee: oh man. Hope he gets a good nap in!! Poor kiddo.
@whenoceansrise: awww that is awesome! I love that he runs and gets his shoes. H has been putting his socks on his feet (like, laying them on top of his feet. Haha!!) and then stares like, why isn't this working? These kids.
@MamaG: the coughing to gagging is the worst I'm sorry. Allergies hit me pretty hard too, but thankfully not yet this year. I am definitely ready for some nice weather! We got some this weekend, but it's getting cold again this week. Cmon spring!!
H's teeth are coming in so slowly! He still has the 6 front teeth, and I can feel at least one big tooth that has broken through in the back. I think a few more are coming in, too, but it's so hard to get in there.

In other news, we are officially moving back to California! We are both excited to be back closer to family, although it's sad leaving the friends and life we have made here! Bittersweet for sure. I also am not looking forward to moving again so soon! We just moved into this apt. Ack.
