I feel so bad for Charlie and his family hoping he pulls through and they get some more (relative) stability soon.

Update!!
Charlie is doing better this morning, but I feel like we still don't have any good definitive answers for why he got so sick. Everyone seems to agree it is an infection, but none of the cultures have grown anything yet. His CSF from the lumbar puncture looked good, so that is good news. He has come off of his blood pressure meds a bit and has been pretty stable. They have been holding his dialysis due to his low blood pressure, but are starting that up today. If nothing else, he is moving around and being a little feisty with all his lines that were placed yesterday, which is a good sign. Hopefully this will not be a long stay, but they are moving slowly with him for now to keep him stable.
Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers! We are all so lucky to have your support.

@snowjewelz: Thanks I can't check Facebook in school it is blocked

So K randomly got ringworm! We had been wondering why she has just one random rash on her face... Not sure why school didn't notice it yesterday, but got a call from them this morning and doctor confirmed and she can't go to school tomorrow either!
When the nurse first told me I thought she had stomach worms And I thought so that's why she has been a bottomless pit?!

@snowjewelz: Thanks for the update!
Oh wow, ringworm! How does one even get that?? That sucks.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: They say it's pretty contagious... Dr asked if my dog has it, I'm like well I can't tell?! She probably got it from some kid, but most likely not from daycare but sometime over the weekend.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@snowjewelz: @Adira: I got ringworm once from my inlaws cat as did my niece and nephew too I think? You just had to apply a cream to the area and it went away. Not sure how long it's contagious for. I didn't even go to the dr, just used the leftover cream my mil had.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: yep, just lotrimin 2x a day, but it takes 2+ weeks to go away. she can't go back to school tomorrow since it had to be 24 hrs after applying cream.
no idea where she got it from... but it doesn't bother her in anyway so oh well!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Miss Ariel: @snowjewelz: Glad to hear it's easy to treat, at least!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Yeah, so it's a bummer that it's contagious and she can't be at school and I had to scramble for a plan!

E had her 15mo check-up today. Consistent 45th-ish %ile for weight, but the nurse measured her at 28.5inches (2nd %ile)...even though at 12mo she measured 29inches. Soooo, yeah. I told the doc I measured her last week to make sure we could still travel with the bucket seat, and she was 29.75inches. Wiggly kids are impossible to measure, apparently.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: No fun, especially since it's on her face! Good thing she's too young to care I had it as a kid too, most likely from a cat.
@KayKay: Interesting! You'd think the nurses would try and get it a bit more accurate than that (especially if the measurements say she shrunk!)
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: Haha I love that she shrunk! I was pretty sure K is taller than her last measurement too b/c she just won't be still!
@josina: Haha yep, she has no idea!

@snowjewelz: I never would have thought of ringworm! Glad it's easy to treat
@KayKay: I always feel like the height measurements are so far off! I tried really hard to get J to stay still for his yesterday, but who knows...

@KayKay: Did they measure her laying down? I forget when they start having them stand to be measured!
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: yes and she was at all happy to do it, so on top of normal wiggles there were tears and extreme combat. Nothing even close to laying flat.
I probably should've said something. Oh well.

@snowjewelz: sorry about K I see ring worm a lot in school, very common keep it covered if u can
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: Yeah G puts up a fight during that measurement I let her play with my phone last time!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: That's sort of ridiculous that they won't let her go back to school tomorrow. It's very common, very contagious. It's not like she's on an antibiotic that makes her any less contagious after 24 hours. Sorry. Just had to rant there for a second on your behalf.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: Ugh, I know, believe me. But Dr already wrote on the note that she can only go back tomorrow PM so it's pretty much worthless since she leaves at 2pm and naps till like 12:30 or 1!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: I don't think we did standing measurements until closer to 3.
I forgot to tell y'all, I guess because it was so traumatic
K had some serious issues at her appt. She does not like for her head to be messed with. When they tried to measure her head she kept shaking her head and batting their hands away. It took two separate nurses to get a measurement! Then, the doc wanted to do a blood draw since they couldn't get blood at her 12 month appt. Oi! Poor kiddo, you would have thought they were trying to remove her limbs at this appointment. She's so dramatic
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: both, since she can spread it to you or even herself!
Kids can always go back to school just as long as it is covered in my district! Sorry she has to be home!

New in G's world she says Amen before she eats sometimes.....and says Bess you, when you sneeze!!!

@FaithFertility: I can't even comprehend this! R says mama, dada, and that...that's it!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@FaithFertility: @winniebee: one of K's words is mommy, but we're starting to think she's actually saying mine, me since she says it when she's reaching towards something she wants. Kinda sad though that it doesn't look like she's actually saying mommy though.

@FaithFertility: Aww too cute!
@winniebee: M is in the same boat....mama & dada & maybe uuhhh for up LOL
@snowjewelz: Sorry about the ringworm My neighbor watched M Tues for 2 hrs so we could start moving & then found out later that day that her DD has HFM.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: She is nuts with words! I didn't teach her this she definitely picked it up at her sitters!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Miss Ariel: awwww G says Dada all day and points to Dada tells people who her Dada is..,.rarley ever says Mama.....stinking kid!

I'm thinking this isn't a phase
It's been almost a month and her sleep is CRAP CRAP CRAP!
up at 1:30 last night I did checks and kept laying her back down giving her her lovey saying good night well 3:00 I caved in bed with us!
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: @angelicone: E didn't have very many words until recently, when I really started focusing on asking her to repeat things and/or say things before I did it (like saying "up" before i will pick her up, repeating the names of foods that she wants me to give her, asking for "more" before I give her more, etc). She has made a lot of progress! Poor second kid, I'm sure I was just not letting her/making her talk
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: ugh! it's so impossible to know what to do sometimes! back at 8 months, E stopped STTN, and I convinced myself it was a phase and that she needed to eat MOTN...until I realized it had gone on for 3.5 months! haha. She has tricked you into obeying her (independent) will
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@AngelicOne: AHHH I hope it doesn't pass onto M!
@FaithFertility: Oh no!
I'm still annoyed K can't go to school today b/c of her ringworm lol. I guess it is ringworm, since the dr said it should go away with the cortisone cream if it's just an eczema rash.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: I thought of you last night when I was up at 1! For the past 2 nights E wakes up crying and no idea why. He doesn't want to lay in bed with us, and will walk out to the couch and wants to lay on that with me instead! Weird... Eventually I'll ask him to go night-night and he'll walk back to his crib.
E says very few words, but he does pay attention to prayers before dinner and puts his hand on his chest... he doesn't quite get the whole sign-of-the-cross but its so cute that he notices.
@AngelicOne: Oh no, hope M doesn't get it!
@MamaG: K with her head sounds like E with me trying to wipe his nose. What a struggle!
