I just got five hours of glorious sleep!!!
@FaithFertility: Yikes! I hope you are both asleep by now.

@ChiCalGoBee: Are you sure your supply is dwindling on that side? Or does it just not produce as much as the other side in general? With Xander, I had one side that just always produced less and from conversations with others, that seems fairly normal. You could try always starting nursing on that side, but I would worry that would affect your supply on your supply"good" side since your LO probably wouldn't ever be draining it.

@Adira: so glad you got some rest after all that nursing!
We had so much trouble getting J down last night and it was extra stressful because we're at my parents' with lots of people trying to sleep. We finally got him to sleep and he gave us six hours! Never know what to expect with this kid!

@Adira: Logan and kara were the same baby! I nursed her tons last night till 1 and she woke up at 6 to eat. I was like, really?! I never topped her off either!

@MrsF: Six hours is amazing!!
@snowjewelz: That's awesome!!
After Logan's awesome stretch of sleep, the rest of the night was less good. He fell asleep nursing, but then from 4:00 - 6:00, he was just grunting and whining and crying. We had to bring him to bed with us and soothe him to sleep, which got us another hour before he woke up hungry.

G is stuffy I think that is why she was fussy! I used the nose frieda not much, I'm thinking maybe dry because we have had heat on?

@FaithFertility: spilled milk is the worst!!
Anyone getting smiles? I got 2 yesterday.

@BandDmommy: I swear we do.....lol I know she is young but they are in reaction to DH or me
If not still cute as heck!!!!!

@MrsF: for awhile I wasn't sure if they were gas but they aren't she loves our ceiling fan

@FaithFertility: both of my kids are stuffy because the heat is running all day with these crazy temperatures. We need more humidifiers!

@FaithFertility: ahh I feel your pain. I have been up every hour since 10:30pm. Oh and then DD wakes up crying at 6:30 because A's crying woke her up and she wanted to come into our room. @Adira: @MrsF: amazing sleep guys!!
Okay I have to share my biggest nightmare that came true last night. The fam went to the mall, and I had to take A to the bathroom to nurse (they have a nursing area). DD ran after us so DH was left outside with the stroller, bags, etc. while nursing I see DD crouch down and has this look. "Do you have to poo??" She shakes her head but I know she is lying, so I have my shirt halfway up while holding A and trying to find a clean and empty stall for DD. I had to lift her up into the toilet while holding A! She doesn't poop (only pee) but when I go to wipe, there is poop...which I get on my hands! So now I have to bring LO down from the toilet while holding A and trying not to get CRAP on anyone. I realize there is no way I can wash her hands while holding A so I go outside (still with shirt halfway up) down the hall to call out for DH so he can take A. I was not happy!

I am getting so frustrated because I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I must be doing something wrong for him not to get any long stretch at night.

@Freckles: ohhhh man that sounds like a struggle!
As for our nights our longest stretches are 3 1/2 hrs we will be a month next Saturday!!! Wow, that's crazy!!!!!!!

@Adira: 5 hours of MAMA sleep? I have yet to get that, and my son is older than yours! Enjoy:-). Re: supply...my left side has always gotten less, but its output (which has been pretty consistent) has dwindled:-/. I'm trying to do a few things to see if I can push it's supplely back up without diminishing what the right is doing. We'll see!

This is so true!

Um Ryan was a month yesterday and we only get 2 hour stretches. I keep thinking tonight is going to be "the" night but it never happens :/.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@whenoceansrise: I can commiserate on the spit up. Sounds like our night last night - Ryan did this at 130 and then was up til 330. So much laundry. Hope it gets better for you soon!

@winniebee: That link is great! I can relate, and as I've said before, I commend you second time mamas!!! That takes parenting to a new level!!!!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Freckles: that's how I feel but I think I'm putting too much pressure on the situation. I have decided to lower my expectations and expect shirty sleep for another month even though my first was much better by this point.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: hugs mommy! you are super woman for getting through that! I feel like if I ever saw that happen I would want to help knowing how hard it is!
Ugh I have not been on bc of the stupid redirecting issue! I think it's better now...
nectarine / 2053 posts
@winniebee: I thinking about calling the pediatrician Monday about the spit up. It's just so much snd so often! I know I keep reading that it's normal but it still worries me. I guess when I take him out in public I will have to bring extra clothes for him and myself.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@whenoceansrise: yeah I took him an last week and our ped wasn't concerned. It's gotten worse since then, however.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Freckles: I'm so sorry! This is why I don't really like to go anywhere. Fortunately (?) I'm not breast feeding so I tend to leave K with DH and tend to the big one most of the time when we are all out together.
pomelo / 5298 posts
We have some spit up issues, which is why our house is covered in burp cloths. I know it's different bottle vs breast, but we stuff one under K's chin when she eats (she's messy!). Then it goes on my shoulder for burps. and I keep it handy so I can quickly wipe up any spit up. She will still get some on her clothes (or mine) but it's minimal and if we aren't going anywhere - I don't bother with changing. Gross, I know but I can't be bothered with all the extra laundry. If we didn't use burp cloths our clothes would be awful (and need changing).
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Freckles: omg that is no joke! I'm sure some day you'll laugh but that must have been pretty miserable
@winniebee: SO true. Love it.
I'm so sorry that sleep is still such a struggle. You're a hero, mama!

Seriously just put G in the swing for first time today. She was being held by me or DH poor girl this is not like her at all!
She is fussy and nursing all day....not stuffy anymore......I am thinking growth spurt or gas.. or well who knows!
nectarine / 2053 posts
@FaithFertility: Micah has been fussy too. Our LO's were born around the same time I think? Maybe it is a growth spurt!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@BandDmommy: I got my first real smile today!
@Freckles: OMG, that poop story is horrifying!! I'm sorry!! Does A cluster feed at all at night? It's only after goose cluster feeding that I get a decent stretch of sleep.
So Logan got his second bottle today. 3.5 oz, but he drank it slowly, which surprised me. He has zero issue going between bottle and breast. And I just pumped and got 4 oz, so more than he ate, which is awesome!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: that's great! Ryan has had a few bottles the past few days Bc my mom was helping out. He was taking 3 oz but very slowly as well.
I forgot to mention this but my pediatrician said that an efficient breastfeed baby can completely empty a breast in 7 mins.
No smiles here but Ryan is only 1m.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: Yeah she was the 17th... I'm thinking growth spurt she is eating a lot and then fussy in an hr to eat again!!!!!
@Adira: that is great about the bottle!
