@MamaG: I'm so sorry that you have to go back to work so soon I'm not there yet, but it was hard with #1 and I'm sure it won't be easy this time. You're totally entitled to a pity party!
I'm 100% with you on my dislike of the newborn phase. The snuggles are nice, but they're not worth the anxiety that I feel never knowing what this little creature is going to do next. Toddlers are tough, but at least she can communicate her needs and has a (somewhat) predictable schedule. Not to mention she can be bribed with food! Luckily the other stages are all longer than the newborn phase.
Hugs mama!

@MamaG: aww I'm sorry! Definitely have a pity party and enjoy your last day on leave. I also hear you on skipping this newborn phase. Actually, I just want to skip over to the toddler phase!

@MamaG: going back at this stage has got to be so tough!! And the germs yes the germs are just awful. I hope you enjoy your last day with her and have a smooth transition Monday! This stage is definitely tough!

@whenoceansrise: I will be glad when it's over too! Multiple outfit changes for him every day due to spit up! I just ordered more of the bigger A and A burp cloths online....

@snowjewelz: I did the mini pill last time and it didn't affect my supply. It's not super effective on its own, but it's effective coupled with breastfeeding.
@MamaG: Oh wow, I'm so sorry that you return to work on Monday! That's hard. How old is K? Still so young!! I'm sure everything will go okay though. I'm curious how it goes with two though. I'm nervous about dealing with two for daycare stuff! I've had to pick up Xander a couple times now and it was definitely more difficult with Logan in tow. Good luck! Enjoy your last few days before work!
@MamaG: @MrsF: Totally with you ladies on not loving the newborn stage. It's definitely EASIER for me than the current toddler stage that Xander is in, but it's not my favorite. I can't wait for Logan to start smiling, laughing, babbling, and moving around. I remember having so much fun with Xander once he started rolling around the place and babbling!

Logan's finally coming around to the swing. I've been able to put him down in the swing drowsy and he'll fall asleep in it. And it seems like when he wakes up, he'll fall back asleep more easily in the swing. So yay!

@Adira: Agree - the infant stage is "easier" than the toddler phase for me - I get so much done while he naps all day! But, the toddler phase is more enjoyable to me. I have enjoyed the newborn stage SO much more this time around and I do enjoy it but I absolutely love when they can communicate!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Yeah, I agree! I enjoy the toddler stage, but Xander's been tantruming more lately. Plus he's not quite two, so maybe that's part of it. He can't fully communicate his thoughts/feelings, so he throws a fit, which I find soooooo frustrating! Although Logan being up for hours on end is also frustrating. So I guess there are positives and negatives to both ages.

@MamaG: aww hugs!! I hope you enjoy this precious weekend with the kiddos!

@Adira: yay! I guess I should keep trying and retrying thing too for Kara
I will ask about the mini pill! I don't have great supply so I am so crazy about protecting it!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: 2+ is soon much easier!! 2.5 is even easier in a lot of ways.....my son is SO high energy and willful at 32 months but he can tell me exactly what he wants and doesn't want which is nice
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: I think anecdotally the mini pill can affect supply I probably won't start taking it right away but then again I doubt we will be especially active in the bedroom until the baby starts sleeping more at night
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: @Adira: it's interesting- I find the toddler phase so much easier! J wants to be held every minute of the day, and I can only do so much with him in the carrier. Also M has definitely been an early talker, so that cuts down on the frustration. The hardest part with her is getting her energy out when it's so cold out. Ugh.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: @MrsF: That's encouraging! Maybe as Xander gets a little older and can talk more, it'll cut down on the frustration.

@MamaG: I am so sorry, that time has come so soon! I hope tomorrow goes well for you!
We have mastered the MOby wrap She conked out in 5 mins
Yay, I can't put her in it before she eats because she will just root root...lol

@Adira: Yay for the swing, I too think G falls back asleep easier in it as well....I think it is more cozy then just a bassinet so it keeps her sleeping!

@winniebee: hahaha I was thinking the same thing, but DH has been kind of love dove the past few nights.....lol
He has to wait, I am no where near ready...hahhah
Remember ....It only takes 1 time

I'm going to be the oddball. I the ️️newborn stage! I also
toddlers but man is it a lot of work! I have a very high spirited toddler and he is so much fun but a handful. I
Try and cherish every moment though because they grow so fast! B has been very cuddly and I'm loving all the snuggles.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: that's what I'm thinking too.. Maybe I will just do nothing for now and think about it some more. I don't think I'm ready to do anything at 6 wks pp, nor do we have anytime until she starts giving me like 5+ hrs at night!

@MamaG: aww that's so rough. I cried the entire week before B started daycare.

@BandDmommy: i'm jealous that you love newborns! I feel guilty that I don't enjoy it more. I've never really gotten over the months of colic screaming from M. *shudder*.

I just slipped and fell down some stairs Thankfully not while holding LO!

Ugh, Logan's unpredictability is driving me crazy! Yesterday hee slept all day and today he won't sleep at all!

@BandDmommy: just got scraped up and my tail bone and waist/back hurt.. Blah! Now my mom and I are extra careful esp when holding DD.
I think it was my slippers fault; they are new and slippery!

@snowjewelz: Ohh man I am glad you are ok, and was not holding LO Scary!

I hope Logan is in the six week growth spurt. I need a reason for his wakefulness and constant eating! And an end in sight. My boobs hurt from all the nursing.

@FaithFertility: I hope so, but I'm running on empty and he's just pissed off.

We were going to introduce a small bottle to G today DH was excited.....
Well I unthawed a bag and went to pour it in the bottle, but forgot that the bags have holes at the top that the pump clicks on to, so most just spilled on the counter
Ughhhh I seriously had about 1/2 an ounce left. ...lol
We gave it to her and she took right to it
I'll try again in a few days! Really just want her to get used to it every once in awile!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Bummer you lost some milk! That's always so depressing. But that's awesome she took the bottle just fine!
And seriously about needing a break! But I know all this will just help my supply, so I'm trying not to be too frustrated.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: I hate losing milk!!!!
I'm staying at my parents another night. Ryan took a bottle well early morning so I am passing him off to my mom at 5 again to get more zzzzz. I think my supply took a hit with me being sick and R not nursing as well....I only pumped 2.5 oz earlier. Trying to put him to breast whenever he wants...
@Adira: sounds like a growth spurt.....
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Ugh, being sick sucks. My supply always went down when I was sick. Hope it bounces back for you.
honeydew / 7444 posts
@snowjewelz: I hope you're feeling better! It is a painful when you hit your tailbone. Make sure you ice!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: it's ok! You have great supply and will pump more in no time!

We just introduced a paci... Micah spit up a ton and then acted like he was hungry but would scream and cry while I was feeding him then he spit that up so I thought that his belly was just too full and that maybe he was fussing at the breast because he just wanted to suck and wasn't hungry so we offered the paci and it calmed him down so fast. Fingers crossed for no nipple confusion!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@whenoceansrise: My doctor said nipple confusion is actually pretty rare, even though the LCs I've spoken to made a huge deal about it. The paci has been a lifesaver for us-my son would nurse forevvvver if I let him, and ends up throwing up a ton from eating too much. He loves the comfort of sucking, so the paci has been essential. I hope M takes to it!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@FaithFertility: My husband gives one bottle a day and has for ages. He loves that special one-on-one time, and now that my son is used to it, it's just part of our routine. I enjoy that it gives me a little bit of freedom! And yes, I've had bags spill and it breaks my heart. SO much effort goes into getting that milk pumped and to my baby and I hate losing it!
I've started to notice my supply dwindle a bit on one side . Any advice? I am lucky to have plenty on the other side, but the paranoid part of me wants to make sure this isn't the beginning of a bigger supply issue. Should I pump extra on the 'bad' side? Always start him on that side to stimulate it more?
