@snowjewelz: I have to laugh at your comment about K's behavior being related to a 6-week growth spurt...only because when I mentioned last week that N was in a growth spurt, my husband was like "isn't he ALWAYS in a growth spurt?!" We're always looking for reasons for the fussiness-like they exist .

@ChiCalGoBee: haha I know! I feel like having a reason or Logic will make me feel better!
Hope all the mamas are getting sleep! I'm having a normal strerxh so far of almosg 2.5-3 hrs.

Logan just slept for SIX hours!!!! Meaning I personally just got five hours of uninterrupted sleep!! I hope others are getting decent stretches.

@winniebee: Xander rolled at 5 weeks too! But then not again until around 7 months.

@josina: Hoping your second round of the night was longer than your first!

@ChiCalGoBee: The first six weeks has like FOUR growth spurts! So it really does seem like they are in one all the time. Especially when each one lasts a few days and then you only have a few days or a week before the next one starts. But I think the six week one is the last one for a while so once we all get past that, things should be much smoother!

@Adira: longest I got was 2:50 and that's only BC I fell asleep with him on my chest, so def. Not what I was hoping for. He is pretty on the dot every 2 hours still. Even 4 hours would be great bright now. Back to work tomorrow.

@josina: Oh man, I'm sorry. It's going to be so hard to work with that kind if sleep.

Micah has been wide awake since 3:30... What the heck? I want to sleep!

@josina: good luck back at work! I'm so sorry his sleep hasn't improved yet. I hope things improve soon so you can be rested for work! Will he be in daycare?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ryan at least is now consistently doing 2+ hr stretches (usually 2.5 hrs. Last night he did 3 of those in a row then was restless from 530-730 so I had to bring him to bed with me). A far cry from good sleep but much better!!

@Adira: that's a great stretch!
So much moaning and groaning and grunting here last night. Sounded like tummy issues Mama's tired. I can't wait for DH to get back from his trip tomorrow evening!

@josina: I'm sorry sleep is short and you are heading back to work. The adjustment back has been okay, but my sleep is a bit longer.

@winniebee: Dh is on winter layoff so E won't be in daycare for awhile yet which will makes things a little easier.
E was wide awake from 4 till 6:30 this am but luckily dh is an early riser so he took care of him.
I am taking off at 1 my first 2 days back to make it a little easier. ... Thanks for the well wishes all.

@MamaG: glad your adjustment is going ok.
@josina: hope your first day goes well!

@josina: Hope your day goes well!
@winniebee: Progress!
@Adira: we are getting 4 for the first stretch, usually from 9-1 or 10-2, then it's about 2.5-3.......can't complain!
She also seems to go to sleep on her own recently
Last night I put her down and she was wide eyed but within 5 fell asleep!!!!

@josina: good luck today!!
@winniebee: Yay for rolling! and glad you got a bit better sleep

Oh my gosh, you guys. H slept for 6.5 hrs last night!!! After a very fussy evening, and he's now having fussy naps, but still I will take it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Glad it's getting better. I really hope he starts doing longer stretches for you soon. How much does he weigh? How much does he eat during the day?
@FaithFertility: Sounds like Logan! He usually does a 4 hour stretch and then a 2.5-3 hour one. Although he doesn't always go down easily in the evening. Last night was another one of his four-hour awake stretches and I nursed him three times during that!
@theotherstark: Woohoo!!!! Congratulations!!! Hope he does it again and again for you!! I'm willing to take fussy evenings if they result in long stretches of sleep!

Ughhhj we took a car ride so I can upgrade my phone, I ran in and DH stayed in car with G, well he called me and said she was inconsolable I got to car and her crying was awful she was hangry...seriously never heard that cry.....Ughhh awful!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: he's probably 7.5 lbs he was 7 lbs a week ago seems to gain about an ounce a day. Weight didn't seem to matter much for my first though? I feed him on demand but during the day he eats roughly every 2.5 hours. Sometimes 1.5, sometimes 3. At night lately it's more every 3 hours but by the time I get him back asleep that leaves me with a 2.5 hr stretch.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: don't feel guilty! She won't remember it! Ryan has to cry a lot - more than his brother Ever did. I only have 2 hands and someone always needs something!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@theotherstark: N too!!! Best stretch ever!@MamaG: How are you recovering? Was the first recovery better/worse than the first? I am already thinking ahead to my second baby, and with how horrid the first labor went, it is tempting to think I can cut out the "30 hours of contracting, infection, emergent c-section" and go right to the surgery...
@whenoceansrise: How is your recovery going? I'm 9 weeks PP (hard to believe!) and I forget I had surgery until I see the scar. The first two weeks were brutal, though!
@Adira: N is 9 weeks today, and I am VERY hopeful the crazy fussiness today and yesterday will soon be gone....especially if I can't "blame" it on a growth spurt;-).
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Well I hope he starts going longer at night for you. 2.5 hour stretches of sleep is not enough!!
@FaithFertility: Aww, I think their cries are harder on us than them! Crazy babies.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ryan has been awake alllllllll day. One hour nap since 730. I'm all for figuring out days v nights but this is crazy!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: haha, yeah, I hear you. I THINK Logan already went through the 6 week growth spurt, but then yesterday he was awake for hours and fussy. I can't figure these babies out.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Uh oh! Has he been fussy or just awake?? Hopefully this means he'll sleep well tonight...?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: both! The past 2 hours awake or half awake with me trying to get him down. Of course the older is actually napping for once!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: Honestly? My second c-section was easy peasy. I thought my first recovery wasn't bad, fairly easy. But this time around, super easy! It's been 8 weeks and aside from having a scar, I don't feel like I had surgery. Beyond the IV pain meds in the hospital, I took about 2 days worth of ibuprofen and that was the end of meds for me.
I really think chasing a 3 year old through my pregnancy (and after) really geared my body up for the surgery. If I weren't DONE, I would easily consider a third c-section based on how easy this one was.
