@FaithFertility: let her suck away! We just had growth spurt too and I always felt like I had nothing!

@FaithFertility: I love how she explains the way that your baby is communicating with your body. It made everything easier for me to think of it that way.

@MrsF: Poor kid! Hope he feels better soon!
@snowjewelz:
@BandDmommy: That's pretty good! You must have pretty decent insurance.

@MrsF: do you think it's conjunctivitis? K has had crusty eyes and yellow discharge for a couple weeks. I assumed it was related to all her congestion
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: I didn think anything of it (the goopy eyes) but we happened to have his 2 month visit so I pointed it out. She said she could see some redness and put him on erythromycin ointment for conjunctivitis. She also said a lot of kids with conjunctivitis also end up having an ear infection (j does not) so it's good to get them checked out.

I posted on he FB thread already but
So you may have seen from my other posts that Ryan's spit up is bad. Really bad like after every feed bad sometimes fountains bad and keeping him awake or waking him up bad. I had an LC appt yesterday to check latch and make sure I was doing things right and she thought that was all great and she didn't see any issue with nursing. But she said he seems to have "real deal reflux" based on spit up and how uncomfortable he seems after feeding - and urged me to go to the pediatrician. Which I did. The good news is he is gaining weight well (almost 9 lbs at shy of 8w and only born at 5 lb 6 oz so gaining half a lb a week). But the bad news is there is not much to do other than change meds (from Zantac to Prilosec or Prevacid and there's no way to know if it will help) and she won't do that we would need to go to a GI doc (she can refer us). She can also do an in office ultrasound of his belly to rule out pyloric stenosis (but she said she would be shocked if he had that since he is thriving and generally happy). The pediatrician basically thinks he had reflux, will outgrow it, but doesn't think there's any underlying issue. I want to go to the GI doc (I just don't think grunting and fussing and writhing and moaning for 30 mins after a feed is normal) but my husband is more of a "wait and see" approach....I guess the thing about reflux meds are they aren't proven to work and are not necessarily totally benign as once thought. Anyways that's what's going on in my world.

@winniebee: Poor R. That sucks about the reflux, but it's good you saw an LC and your pediatrician. Sounds like he's just one of those poor kids that have bas reflux.
I'm with you on seeing a GI doc though. It sounds like the poor kid is pretty miserable.

@MrsF: We go to the doctor again on Tuesday to get the two month shots. I'll mention it then and see what they have to say. We've been to the doctor weekly lately. I'm a little over it

@FaithFertility: aww I know! For me it's when she squeeze out some teeny tears!

Ugh this whole measles outbreak (I just read something saying someone went to NY with it) and I also read that Feb is height of flu season! We are going to a friends house today and there will be 10+ ppl.. No one better be sick!

@MamaG: You must be totally over it. I hope that everyone is healthy soon!

@snowjewelz: UGHH I hear you!!!! We have yet to take her to any public places...... My mom keeps saying when are you taking the baby out???
I have no other kiddos to take out to poop them out, DH is home with me so if I or he want to go out we just take turns....I will take her when we have to.
I think a house is ok, If it were me I would just limit the holding!!!

@BandDmommy: I know you are happy and for that I'm happy. But I'd be in a severe case of panic. Good luck.

@snowjewelz: I hear you on that....we're going to a friend's house tomorrow for the Super Bowl, and I am planning on wearing N in the carrier the whole time so no one can touch him....there will be a slew of little kids there and whenever I see them they have runny noses! Not what we need...especially in SoCal, 70 miles south of the measles outbreak!

@snowjewelz: having a toddler (aka germ factory) I've given up on worrying about sickness. We go out all the time. Otherwise my toddler would destroy our house.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: our outing went relatively well. We were out for 5 hrs! I did let people hold her and didn't make them use hand sanitizer mainly bc it was so chaotic! But poor thing hadnt sleep since 5:30! I really want to go back to church so I think we will take the plunge after her shots.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: I should have tried to wear Her too but we are still working on getting comfy in the carrier so I didn't want to make a scene if she fussed! But I should have bc I got a lot of unsolicited advice like omg don't rock your baby to sleep! Or when I was nursing her with cover, why don't I pump so it's easier... Ugh!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: ahh so did the line get darker? When are you going to OB?
nectarine / 2053 posts
@snowjewelz: I can't believe people complained about you nursing with a cover! So annoying!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I can't believe people told you pumping was easier than nursing! Don't let them get to you.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@BandDmommy: this exactly. the toddler changes everything. Germs abound and there is no way we're staying home.

@snowjewelz: LOL.. I totally wipped out a boob no cover when I was nursing D in the parking lot at Chickfila. There's something not sexy about boobs when you are feeding a child. People need to get over themselves.

@BandDmommy: I still can't believe it! Congrats of course!
