@MrsF: That is one thing we are blessed with, she NEVER cries....
Only if she is hungry and I don't get to her right away or her tummy hurts.....other than that it's coos and maybe what I call her "milk" yell...lol which is just that a yell.....lol

@winniebee: yay! Things will just look up from here I am sure!

@FaithFertility: lol about the turtle part! Mine def grunts and makes weird noise.. If she is waking up to eat she does that for a while before deciding to cry

Umm so I thought the universal truth is if baby naps well then they sleep well at night. If they nap bad then they are over tired and sleep bad at night.
So Kara was super over stimulated yesterday at church. Barely napped for maybe 20 min total between 9-2:30. she went down at like 6:40 and I figured it's her last nap so she was in the living room. She never woke up! We had to move her upstairs at 10, she kept sleeping till 1! 6 hour stretch?! Then she ate and slept for another 5 hrs?!

@winniebee: Awesome, hopefully this is it for you. It took Ethan 10 weeks to get those longer (5 hour) stretches so hopefully you're on your way to that.
Last night was back to 2 hour stretches but he slept almost ALL day and I let him since he (and I) are both sick with colds. Hoping it was just a 1 night thing. I'm kind of worried that him being sick is the reason for the 5 hour stretches last week but hope not!

@snowjewelz: a day when we were at my mom's with all my sisters and such was a night where she gave us I think almost 7 hrs.....lol so who knows!!!!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: right?! I was bracing for a bad night of sleep since she was overtired for sure.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: that's great!
@snowjewelz: yay for sleep! babies are so unpredictable.
J has given us two great nights of sleep the past two nights. This morning I was so startled when he woke up that I reached down to get my slippers off the floor and smashed my face into the footboard of our bed! I thought I had broken my nose but I just have a huge gash across my nose. M came downstairs and said "mama! you have an owie on your nose! I kiss it all better." At least we're snowbound so I'm not out in public like this

@MrsF: ohhh no!! I hope you are ok! I fell down the stairs a while ago; just a few steps but def not with it these days

Anyone want 2 dogs......I am soooo over them barking and waking G up during naps.....lol
nectarine / 2053 posts
@FaithFertility: I kind of want to get rid of my dog too... so weird since he was like my baby pre LO. haha

@FaithFertility: ha so frustrating!! We are in an apartment and ever since H came home, our dog now barks WAY more frequently when he hears noises outside our door. I actually think its cute, because I know he is just trying to protect H now, and thankfully it doesn't wake him up too often. Oh, dogs

@snowjewelz: some people swear by the early bed time!!!
@MrsF: OUCH!!!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@theotherstark: Yes! It is the truth, they are so much more protective now!
@whenoceansrise: I agree, I love them but they Def have become chopped liver
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: @whenoceansrise: my dog gets no love now either. I feel so bad but I get SO annoyed when she runs around wanting to play and bites on her sqeaker toys! I'm like ahh shush and she gets even more worked up!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@FaithFertility: I'd take them, but I have two dogs for sale, too:-). They haven't woken up N too much when he sleeps upstairs, but when he's downstairs with me and they bark he cries because it startles him:-(.
@MrsF: Just want to say I'm so with you on the early bedtime! I was trying to keep N up much later at first so he'd sleep longer, but remembered as a nanny that earlier bedtime doesn't mean earlier wake time necessarily. N goes down between 7-7:30, and typically doesn't get up for the day until 6:30-7:30. We still have a few wake-ups in there for the paci, but for the most part that's his "in the crib" schedule. My husband and I love that we get a few hours to connect and eat dinner together each night!
@snowjewelz: We were just gifted a Sophie the Giraffe, and my two pups seem to think it's theirs because it squeaks. I see many-a-stuffed animal being "donated" to the dogs in the future-whether N wants to give them up or not!

@ChiCalGoBee: my dog mainly thinks I'm still talking to her when I'm baby talking with K lol!

@winniebee: So happy to hear you finally got some decent sleep last night! Hope tonight is similar.
@snowjewelz: Babies are ridiculous in their unpredictability! Btw yay for sleep!
@MrsF: Oww! But so sweet your toddler wanted to kiss it to make it better.

@BandDmommy: I only made it about 10 weeks with M so I'm already thrilled to be past that. I'm hoping for a year this time. I go back to work on Monday so I might be singing a different tune after that. I only work two days / week but I'm gone for almost 16 hours at a time so it's going to be tough!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: yay! It's getting better and better!
I see improvement too. She had s fairly normal day yesterday and slept almost 5 & 5!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I want to make it to at least 6 months! I can see it happening except I don't know how pumping at work will go.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@BandDmommy: with T I only nursed 6 weeks then pumped til 4.5 months. So I'm already further along this time which was my goal. My only real goal now is to push through if and when it gets tough (and frankly weeks 6-8 were pretty hard with massive spit up and reflux and poor sleep). Ideally I would like to make it 6 months and would fight hard to do that. But I would be happy to BF until a year.

@winniebee: hurrah! 4-3-3 is a pretty solid night!
@BandDmommy: at least a year probably. with K i stopped day pumping when she hit a year (had a bunch of frozen) and nursed morning/night for another couple months.
i do have a weeklong trip to France this summer where i'll be away from E. i should have enough frozen for her to eat while i'm gone, but i'm nervous that my supply and/or her interest will take a hit. she'll be 7 months at that point.

@mrsf: i actually liked pumping at work, but it was probably because it was a pretty unchallenging/boring job a lot of times. so locking myself in the lactation room and reading a book for 15-20 minutes 3x a day was a nice break i know not everyone has it that easy!

Any LOs start to get distracted nursing?
This morning she kept looking at me and talking nonstop instead of eating! I'm like, so great that you love to talk but you need to eat!

@KayKay: my husband keeps talking about taking me to paris this spring but I'm not ready to leave D. We went to Germany last year and I hated leaving B for over a week.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: that is so exciting!! I want to go somewhere awesome later this year (maybe fall) with just my husband too. We had our 5y wedding anniversary last year and missed out because I was so pregnant.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: that's great!!!! Hopefully our babes will keep improving in the sleep dept!

Where's everyone sleeping these days? K is still in her RnP, but I'm really feeling like I need to make the move to the crib. She'll be 3 months next week and that's when we moved C to her own room. Sleeping in the RnP has been so easy, I don't look forward to the transition. And next up will be breaking free of swaddling.

@BandDmommy: I'm wanting to go a year! So far pumping at work is going great so hopefully I can stick to it!
I have no idea how long Micah went last night, but he was only up twice to nurse then went right back to sleep.
I think I secretly enjoy cosleeping. I feel more secure with him snuggled with me and it's so easy just to turn over and nurse him laying down (which we've been able to do now because surprisingly he hasn't been spitting up like he used to do.. knock on wood)
plus all the snuggles are great since I'm bummed that I'm away from him all day.
I really do need to work on getting him to sleep by himself though!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: we moved Ryan to his room last week (which adjoins ours by a door so he's only 15 feet away!) and sleep is so much better since then. He is swaddled in the rock n play. I need to keep him on an incline for now since he has reflux probably won't move him to crib until he can roll (and will unswaddle him then too).
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
We co sleep too. She can go in the pack and play next to our bed but I find that I sleep less still constantly checking on her! I am not as comfortable if she is next to me but at least I sleep!
