Thanks guys! So far everything has gone smoothly. I even made it to work early. So we'll see how the rest of the day plays out...

K has been fighting naps & bed time... And her normal schedule and all hungry/tired cues are off.. Something going on for 11-12 weeks?! Or she knows on going back to work and is protestibg?! Her naps are all over the place, usually 30-40 min but on me she will sleep for 2 hrs. I get 5 hr stretch one night then 3 the next. Ahh I'm going crazy!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: there is a 12 week growth spurt. But I found there really was no really predictable schedule until like 5 months!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: I feel bad bc I no longer know what she wants/needs! We were following eat-play-sleep but her weird naps are throwing everything off. So I completely feel you on feeling like a bad mom

We are all home today with a "sleet/freezing rain" day. I think I will take a nap with the girls this afternoon. It wasn't the best night of sleep around our house. Between a nightmare for C and our phones going off all night long with txt's from work or weather services. And since our furnace won't stop running, we have some nasal issues going on with all of us.

@snowjewelz: awww I'm sorry! You are doing great, remember the babes really don't know what they want either.....I'm trying to remind myself of this.....lol
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Miss Ariel: I made it to work early too!
@snowjewelz: Logan's naps seemed funky around 11 weeks too and he had at least one nighttime that was totally messed up. But he seemed back on track yesterday for our last day of leave, so hopefully he's back to normal. Hopefully things will smooth out for you too. Maybe there's a wonder week in there or something.
Already had my first pumping session and it looks like I remembered everything! I just hope I sent enough milk for Logan for today, though I'm sure I probably did.

@winniebee: H had two 4 to 5 hour stretches last night thank goodness. I hope R keeps it up for you.
@Adira: @Miss Ariel: you ladies are amazing for getting to work early! Hope all goes smoothly.
@MamaG: soo sick of the winter. I've been blasting the humidifier as it's very dry in my apartment
persimmon / 1168 posts
@snowjewelz: H is 11 weeks today. The past week or so was pretty terrible for both naps and night time sleep. I was wondering if there was some kind of growth spurt. He seems to have discovered his hands the past few days! I drove myself a little crazy trying to figure out what was up with his lack of schedule. I hope she settles for you soon
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: that is so annoying with the texts! A group nap sounds perfect!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: glad everything is going well! And thanks for sharing, I hope s new normal emerges for Kara soon!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@magnolia: makes me feel better! Must be something going on between 11-12 weeks. Then again, when is something NOT going on
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@magnolia: Logan discovered his hands last week too! He's been sucking his thumb a lot too, which is cute and helps him fall asleep on his own.

@Miss Ariel: @Adira: Hope your first days back go well!!
Equally sick of winter... sooo cold here today with negative windchills, and the office furnace quit! 45 degrees in the office today, luckily I go between 2 so I just switched earlier than normal!
Ethan's first day of daycare today, he was fine of course and all the other kids were excited to meet him as soon as I walked in the door but I've been texting the provider to make sure she knows EVERYTHING. She's understanding though and is keeping me informed. The hardest part is just knowing that he spends more time with someone else now than his mom and dad :(. DH is gone today through Thursday on a work trip so its me, Ethan, and my stepdaughter for the week, she's 12 so she can definitely help out.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: It's definitely hard knowing how much time our little ones spend with other people when we're working full-time. I totally feel you. AND they get them during their best hours! Logan's always so smiley and happy in the morning. I'm going to miss seeing all his smiles.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: Ethan was super smiley this morning too, so adorable!
My dh told me yesterday I should just quit my job and have lots of babies. If only.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: I'd only want to do that if I could still send them to daycare when they hit the tantrum stage!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@winniebee: so glad you got such a great stretch!! Yay, R!!
@josina: @Adira: Hope you ladies are having a great first day back!
Ugh, add us to the crummy sleep train. This last week, H went back down to only about 3-3.5 hr stretches at night, for the first stretch, then around 2 hrs after. He'd been doing between 4-5.5 hrs for the first stretch previously. And his naps have been not great - he's now decided he only wants to nap on me. Thankfully he slept a 5 hr stretch last night, so hopefully he's out of whatever funk he was in.
I also wanted to ask - does anyone's LO react to the vitamin d drops?? H has never been much of a spit-upper, but these past two weeks he has had a fair amount of really massive spit ups. I was trying to think of things that had changed, and realized they started when I began giving vit d drops after his 2 mo appt. And he doesn't seem to spit up on the days I forget to give them (oops. Bad mom). Anyone else?? We are using the Baby D drops. Ugh I want to give him vit d, but I am hating these massive spit ups.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@theotherstark: Sorry about the bad sleep - hopefully he's back to sleeping those longer stretches for you! Logan definitely doesn't seem to care for the taste of the vitamin D drops, but he doesn't spit up much, so I don't think they are affecting him.
So.... I'm worried I didn't send enough milk to daycare. I just had my last pumping session of the day and I produced way more than I was expecting, so now I'm thinking he actually drinks more than I thought! Eeeek! I sent 16 oz (four 4 oz bottles) and I pumped 15 oz (and that's just at work - I pumped 10 oz this morning!!!). With Xander, I usually pumped about 10 oz at work (when my supply was still good) and 5 oz at home and he drank 15 oz during the day.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@theotherstark: G is following H in the sleep department too.......we also use baby D drops and have had no spit up issues!
At 2 month apt did he get the roto vaccine by mouth??? The nurse told me it might make her spit up for a few days????
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: K is FF so it might be different, but I send the same for her daycare and she is there 7:30 - 5:30 (or 6:00). Her bottles are about 4.5 oz (x 4). She's definitely drinking less than her big sister was at this age though.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: I sent a days worth of extra, which is 3 5 oz bottles. I nursed at 6, he then ate at 9, 12 and 3, I pump 15 oz. During the work day, plus usually 7 oz in the morning before work.
Did you have enough today?
@FaithFertility: I wish!
Ethan has finally been consistently giving us good nights of sleep. Last night he went to bed at 9:30 and woke up at 1 to eat and then 5:45 which was perfect since I had to get up then. Hoping he keeps it up as I said at 3 months I'd move him to his crib. It's in the next room but I'm still dreading it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: I feel ya on the sleep. K has been the same and I have no idea what gives!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: we haven't touched the crib much either and I want to start putting her there too!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: Thanks! That sounds similar to me then! He actually ended up only have three of his bottles, so only 12 oz!! And yay for good sleep!!
We can only use our bassinet for one more week - it says not to use past 3 months, plus Logan is getting too big for it anyway. I'm not sure what we're going to do though... last time we moved Xander into the nursery, but we moved into the guest room to be next door. If we put Logan in the nursery, we'll be a whole floor away... not sure if I'm ready for that.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I am only planning on having 12 ounces while I'm away! K seems to only eat 3 oz per feeding. Technically my mom had access to my frozen stash anyway.

Everytime I put G back in PnP she wakes up ;/ ughhhhh I feel like our whole nights lately are out the window
persimmon / 1050 posts
M is waking quite frequently all night long & crying when he does. I think his reflux is getting worse or the 4 month sleep regression is starting early. If so, this sucks! Mama (& daddy) need some sleep.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@theotherstark: I'm not sure if this is helpful but lots of babies doing start spitting up until 3-4 months because before then they are less active. So says our gi doc. Sorry to hear about sleep...you know I feel your pain!
@Adira: I'm sure that's plenty of milk since you nursed him before and will nurse him at home. More than 4 oz every 2 hours would be a lot!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@BandDmommy: It wasn't bad at all! Spent most of the morning catching up on e-mails and tracking down some people, and then the afternoon trying to remember what was going on before I left, haha. But I actually enjoyed my pumping breaks. I forgot how nice it was to have some nice breaks during the day.
@winniebee: It was actually 4 oz every 3 hours. Xander used to take 5 oz every 3 hours, so that's why I wasn't sure how much Logan would need, especially since he nurses more often than Xander did AND he's chunkier. Does that mean he eats more overall??
I think maybe he didn't end up drinking enough at daycare though because he was insatiable last night! He basically wanted the spend the whole evening nursing and just kept fussing at my boobs (probably because they weren't as easy to get milk out as the bottles were). But he's at least not reverse cycling because after he FINALLY fell asleep, he slept 9 hours!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: I don't know about your LO, but with Logan, I have to wait EXACTLY 12 minutes after he falls asleep before I try to put him down! Otherwise he wakes up!!
@AngelicOne: Oh man, poor baby and mama! Hope things get better soon!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ryan's napping has been awful the past few days but he has finally given some longer stretches! 6.5 hrs the night before last and 5 hours last night. He goes to bed early but I still feel way more rested!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Yay for sleep!!! It sucks he's not napping well during the day though. Logan went through a phase like that though - his daytime naps were shit, but then he'd give me decent stretches at night. And then finally his daytime naps got better and he still gave me decent stretches at night. So I'm hoping for the same for you!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: really?? I usually wait 5 or more maybe I'll try the 12 method
