@FaithFertility: Hope you guys are doing okay! Scary stuff!
DH decided last night to try to get E to go to bed on his own (vs. us staying in the room till he falls asleep). I was excited because we got him to his bed at 8:20 but it took over an hour for him to fall asleep. I felt bad, totally would've caved but DH was adamant we need to get him on his own before DD (it's a girl! ) comes.

@MamaG: @MrsF: @AngelicOne: Thanks for checking in ladies. We've had a rough couple weeks. Last Monday we had to take Logan to the ER because of this respiratory virus he caught. He was having trouble breathing and not getting enough oxygen, but after a couple hours on steroids, he was able to go home. He gave that virus to Xander, who has asthma. We started him on steroids pretty early, but by Thursday, he was really struggling. We went to the ER and ended up being admitted. He finally came home on Monday and was able to return to daycare on Wednesday. Of course, he also gave it to Hubs and I, so we're both home sick!
So much love to all of you! I'll try to catch up with everything that's been going on with you ladies soon.

@josina: Sorry it took an hour, but he probably needs some time to get used to a big change. I hope tonight goes better! And congratulations on the girl! I loved your announcement

@MrsF: Yes, hopefully tonight goes better! If we can get him going to bed on his own, then maybe we can work on keeping him in his bed at night.
@Adira: Tough week, hope everyone feels better soon!

@josina: Awsome!!!!!
My dad stayed with us last night with his big dog! It was so sad G cried when they left today!!!! First time she really showed she missed a family member!!! Shhhh.... don't tell grandma....lol

The hour + first night was definitely worth it, now he goes to bed without crying and without us having to stay in the room with him. Only problem is his music/light mobile goes off after 10 minutes and he cries for it back on... I need one without a timer!
@FaithFertility: Thinking of you!! Can't wait to see pics of baby AJ when he comes!

@josina: That's awesome! Is he staying in bed all night?!
G is back this week in our bed ;/ I know it is all our fault, but so weird she will go on and off

@FaithFertility: lol, No. One night he didn't come in until after midnight... but the last 2 nights he was in our bed right around 10. We totally should've put him back in his bed, but we like the cuddles.

@FaithFertility: Yay for great deals! I wish we had the room for a play kitchen.
I think I will get Ethan this Vtech Playset + extra cars, he loves cars right now. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K89KPFS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
I'm not sure about a party either yet since its right around Thanksgiving, depends on where we are going I guess.
My MIL is making him a quilt for his toddler bed (DD will get a matching one), and I need to get a sheet set also.
Anything else will be necessities like rubber and snow boots (which he'll love anyways, lol).

@josina: Never said we have the room Must likely will go on back porch!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Don't have anything specific in mind... We're already spending $ doing her big girl room, so I'll probably just be on the look out for a few small things for birthday, Christmas and then present from baby sister.
We're just gonna do a small party at home; theme is gonna be whatever character she likes the most in a month or so haha. She can get excited about anything (Minnie, Peppa, Paw Patrol, etc) so I don't think she has an absolute favorite...

@josina: @FaithFertility: We probably won't have a party either. Won't be around family this year & his local friend moved away to Chicago, so no other kids to invite. Just us & a cake more than likely.
Still working on bday/Christmas gift ideas. He's set on clothes & toys, so might start getting Mickey things for his big boy bed.

@FaithFertility: we're thinking of buying K a kitchen helper. Also I know my mil wants to buy her a kitchen as well. I know we'll be on a tighter than normal budget this year, but I'd love to buy her a bitty baby doll too.

We are having a little birthday party for E on 11/6, even though her birthday isn't until 11/22! There is a large group of October/November kiddos in my Moms Club, so we are doing a joint get-together at this kids' art studio for all of them. Otherwise, I'd probably not be doing anything exciting As for her *actual* birthday, my parents will be in town for Thanksgiving by then, so we'll just have a little family dinner & cake.
I have such a hard time with gifts for E! Part of it is 2nd kid, so we already have a lot of the typical bigger things (kitchen, easel, teepee, bikes, scooter, etc), and part of it is that it's so close to Christmas. I think we'll get both girls sleeping bags for Christmas, but I have no idea what we'll do for E's birthday. She also mostly can wear K's hand-me-downs for winter gear so that's out, plus it's hard to wait until late Nov to buy that (in MN at least!!).
I think I'll probably have someone renew our zoo membership for us, and maybe look at one of those subscription box things too (kiwi crate, little passports, etc). Something that spreads out over the year, at least! Any other ideas?!

@FaithFertility: That's cute! I'm sure she'll love it.
I haven't really thought about a birthday present yet and we'll just do a family get together for a party. His birthday is on Thanksgiving this year so we'll be traveling and I'm sure I'll bring a cake and he'll get spoiled there We'll have other familly over for cake and football maybe the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
