@littlek: I think I'll go to this one and if not much is happening I'll ask them to schedule me for 8 or 12 weeks.

@Adira: yep, actually got my BFP pretty early (9/10 DPO) and AF wasn't due until 14/15 DPO. I totally went into the doc to get an early blood test before a missed period, and just took about a million HPTs to make sure the line kept getting darker.

@snowjewelz: I'm pretty jealous you can have as many u/s as you want...I think I have to go from 7.5 weeks until 12.5 weeks between them and the wait is feeling loooong. I know it's totally normal, but my anxiety would feel better about one in between now and then:-).

@ChiCalGoBee: I'm def nervous about getting too many though... Mrs. Lilac posted an article earlier about potential negative effects of that. Plus, it's kinda disappointing to go through all that and see nothing! Then I start to wonder why there's nothing lol. Either way you can't win! I'm totaaaaally with you on how long the days are... I just want to be out of 1st tri with a healthy baby!!

@snowjewelz: haha, okay, that's what I would expect, lol! Surprised they had you do a u/s so early since you couldn't really see much!
@ChiCalGoBee: Maybe I should continue to pee on all the sticks! But I think I only have two left... But glad to hear I'm not the only one who's paranoid like this!

@adira: I found out at 9dpo, and AF wasn't due until 13 or 14, and I was flipping out the entire time, thinking AF would show. And I do feel better now that I've passed that and AF hasn't shown, but I'm still totally paranoid and have to check the toilet paper everytime I use the restroom, and I'm always expecting AF to be here. So... it got better, but not much better for me haha. My ob also doesn't do u/s until 12+ weeks... I'm scheduled for one at 13 weeks, and I'm looking forward to it, but have none of the patience to wait until then. So I'll be going to a u/s place and getting one before then haha I can't wait that long! And I want a picture to put up in my house while baby still looks like a gummy bear, so precious.
This board has been so active over the weekend!!! Crazy! We told my DH's parents, and they are over the moon thrilled for us. It's really wonderful having people so excited around us, but I'm still dreading telling my SIL. We're telling all siblings this week so.. can't avoid it much longer. Also, yesterday DH and I found a new apartment to move to! We are so excited! We were thinking of getting a 1-bedroom, just to save money for a house in the next couple years, but his parents said we would definitely want a 2 bedroom, and we found one! It's really nice and in a gated community, and I am already dreaming of decorating the nursery... swoon

@missybear: Glad to hear it gets a little better after the AF Expected Date goes by! And I totally hear you. My first pregnancy, I was totally paranoid the ENTIRE FIRST TRIMESTER. It only started to get better around 10 weeks and I didn't REALLY feel secure until after our 13 week ultrasound. I definitely used to check the toilet paper every time I went to the bathroom! I'm HOPING I'm not so paranoid this time around... though we're still planning to wait till after the first trimester to tell people (except my BFF who will find out on Friday)!
That's awesome that you found a new apartment!! That's sooooo exciting! And having a dedicated nursery will be so nice!! Yay!

@missybear: Many exciting things for you this weekend! Oh please, I've been looking at all things baby when I was just TTC! I even have a huge wishlist on Amazon already haha. I agree for you to def at least get a 2 bedroom!
@Adira: Good to know that I'm not the only one! Every time I cramp out I'm afraid something's going on!

@Adira: I got my BFP @ 10DPO & AF wasn't due until 14DPO. I didn't believe they were until I took a FRER on 14DPO though. lol
@missybear: Congrats on finding a new apt & telling DH's parents.

@snowjewelz: I hear you! And there's WAY more cramping that's normal than I realized the first time around! It was so scary, but a lot of cramping is normal and just your uterus expanding! I hope I'm a little more mellow this time around, haha.
@AngelicOne: Glad to hear this is normal!! I think I might take another FRER on Wednesday, which will be the day after AF is "due". And then finally call my OB!

@ Magnolia, @Adira: Congratulations and welcome!
@Mrs. Lilac: Sorry about the awful flight! I hope the visit totally makes up for it.
So DH wants us to tell the family at his birthday next week. I'm so torn... wish we could wait till after the ultrasound to make sure the baby is all right, but the OB can't see me any sooner. On the upside, I'm worried how my parents will react, and I'd rather deal with that when there are other people around than one on one!

Hi ladies, hope everyone is good. Thanks for all your concern. I am now at my sisters house enjoying my vacation. The sickness bands are AWSOME. They Are quite tight and were annoying me so I took them off today and within 20 mins I was feeling super sick again! I put hem back on and i feel much better. I think il be wearing them for the next 12 weeks! I totally recommend them to anyone.
@Adira: I'm getting a lots of cramping and tightening. I was really paranoid this morning but my sister reassured me that she had it with her pregnancies.
@missybear: how exciting g about your new apartment. I am starting to look for a new place this July once I have broken up from school (I'm a teacher). Can't wait to find somewhere bigger!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mama Bird: Yikes - that's a tricky situation! I wish I had some advice. We decided to wait until our ultrasound before we told any of our parents, but we also pretty much knew how they would react too. Not sure what I would do in your situation! Good luck with whatever you decide!
@Mrs.Lilac: Glad the bands are working for you! And yes! All that cramping is normal, but totally scary! I'm not looking forward to experiencing it again, haha!

@Mama Bird: with my first pregnancy we waited until the end of the first trimester to tell people. I wanted to make sure everything was okay. But I know tons of people who announce early. It's all personal preference.

So today's the day that AF is "due". I'm so nervous she's going to show up!!! Gahhh!!!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: My period was due two weeks ago and I still freak out I will see blood. First trimester is the worst....
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: Ugh, it's supposed to be easier with baby #2! And if I remember correctly, the first trimester goes by soooooooooo slowly!!!!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: I feel like this one is worse because last time I didn't know any better. I also caught my pregnancy much later (B was an oops), like when I was 5 or 6 weeks pregnant so it felt like 1st trimester went faster.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: I think as far as knowledge of my miscarriage chances and stuff, I'm probably just as knowledgeable now as I was before, so maybe it'll be equally as bad?? I researched it to death last time! I'm trying NOT to be as obsessive this time though... hoping that since I've had a successful pregnancy, that means I have a good chance of having another one! No idea if that's true though...
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: I'm hoping that too. I didn't know how common miscarriages were until I joined HB which was in my 3rd trimester.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: It's probably good you didn't join earlier! I had joined before we started TTC, so I feel like I knew WAY too much about how common miscarriages are!
Are you 6 weeks now? I think the chance of a miscarriage decreases around 6 weeks!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: I'm 5 weeks and change. I feel like the wait for first OB appt is way worse than the TWW.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: I agree! And it tends to be so much longer!! My OB usually doesn't see people until around 8 weeks and they don't usually do an u/s then. I'm calling tomorrow to schedule my first appointment (assuming AF stays away for real)!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: I think that's very common. There really isn't much you can see on an U/S before 8 weeks.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: Yeah, but I don't think I'll actually get an u/s until around 12 weeks when we do the first trimester screening. Unless I have bleeding again (ugh, I hope not) or if I need a dating u/s. I don't want to wait until June to see this thing!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: I hear you, I could not wait that long. Can you talk to your OB and see if he/she will make a special exception? I called my dr directly and he's getting me in earlier than the front desk people would have.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: Yeah, I'll ask when I call to make the first appointment! Maybe they'll let me in sooner since I ovulated late.
apricot / 348 posts
@littlek @Adira - I can't wait to go to doctors for blood tests and to confirm Everything is ok . This period is sooooo long. I don't want to wish this time away but I can't wait until I'm 12 weeks gone so I can tell people. Feels like a lifetime away!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: It's definitely the awkward stage... you don't feel great, you are bloated, tired, moody, etc. 2nd trimester is MUCH better.
pomelo / 5298 posts
Good morning, everyone! I'm exhausted. Our toddler is going through some form of sleep regression and waking up between 2:30 and 3:30 every night. Doesn't she know momma needs sleep?
I've also been feeling less than stellar, lots of unhappy tummy going around. I'd like to just curl up and take a deep winter nap for a few days.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: I've had sooo much cramping in the beginning too (they are better now), so don't worry! Some nights they were so bad I seriously thought m/c was beginning
@Adira: You are crazy! No more AF! You are definitely, absolutely, positively preggo's!
@Mama Bird: You should def voice your concerns to your DH if you're really uncomfortable announcing it before the u/s! I only told my parents & sister so far. My SIL asked point blank so we told her and it turned out she's expecting #2 at the same time! But I asked DH if we can hold off telling his parents and he understood. Hope you will feel ok with whatever decision you make!
@MamaG: My stomach's been bothering me to no end too! I really don't feel pregnant anymore now; the cramping & bloating are not as bad as before, but my stomach's acting up, I have no idea if it's related or not! And I already cut out caffeine and even unnatural sugar!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I'm just nervous about it sticking!!
@MamaG: I'm nervous about this! I remember last time I was pregnant because so exhausted all the time and taking naps after work. I have no idea how I'm going to handle it with a toddler! Just hoping his sleep stays good! I can't imagine how rough it must be for yours to be waking in the middle of the night! Yikes!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Sigh I know... One day at a time! I almost wish I had terrible symptoms as if that proves to me that I'm very much so pregnant still. I feel more or less okay which always leads me to worry that the baby stopped growing inside I guess it's good that I am going to the OB on Friday!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: So jealous you're going to the OB on Friday!!! But I hear you - last pregnancy, I had pretty much ZERO symptoms early on except some bloating. Then I only had mild nausea around 6 weeks. So it didn't really FEEL real! Even after the u/s at 7 weeks (due to bleeding), it didn't feel real. I just want to fast-foward and be past the first trimester already!

@Adira: Totally stalking and didn't realize you got your BFP!! So happy for you!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Ugh yes what I wouldn't give! And to be able to tell people! My mom said people have been asking non-stop b/c I gained weight. I was like sigh, mom, no. I just got fat I can't even blame my weight gain on the pregnancy yet!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Littlebit: Thank you!!
@snowjewelz: Yes! I can't wait to tell our families! I took my 4 week bump photo and I never lost all the baby weight from last time so I look like 16 weeks pregnant already, haha. Hopefully that will help mask things for a while!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Lol! I didn't take any bump pictures yet. I don't have a flat stomach to begin with, so I don't know when it starts being a bump vs just my fat! And everyone in the whole world has been mistaking my weight gain for being pregnant I think by now some of them are like, "oh, she is just getting fat" hahaha.
