So this feels premature since I JUST got my BFP earlier today, but I just can't wait to join in on the conversations here! Also, sorry in advance, but I tend to be very chatty and probably annoying, haha.
EDD: December 16th
When Did You Find Out?: TODAY!
Child Number: TWO! First child is Xander (13 months)
Where do you live?: New England
What kind of provider will you see?: My practice has both OBs and midwives - I saw mostly midwives last time, but because of my ITP (low platelet count), I was switched to an OB late in my pregnancy. I'm guessing they'll make me stick with an OB this time around.
When's Your First Appointment?: I haven't even called yet!
What kind of birth do you want?: I have no idea. Last time, I was convinced I was getting an epidural, but because of my ITP, I wasn't able to and ended up having to deliver without meds. I cried the whole time and swore I'd never do that again, but now I'm thinking... maybe? I'm crazy...
What You're Most Excited For: Telling our parents!
What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage
Symptoms so far: None so far (not even 4 weeks yet)

Thanks for the warm welcome mamas!
@adira congrats! your son is adorable!!!
@theotherstark: I am so nervous to see my OB!! I think the first appt will be more of a check in than anything else because it is so early. when I last saw him over the summer he told me to come in as soon as I got pg and he would put me on progesterone. which I am confused about because from what I've read it is mostly used pre-conception?
@MrsMangoMochi: Aww, I would love to have a turkey baby. it's maybe my favorite holiday. although we may all be lookin like we ate the entire turkey by that time

@magnolia: Normally progesterone is started right after ovulation. Hopefully you will not need it though!

Just got off my flight from London to the USA. Worst flight EVER! Threw up on the plane a lot and couldn't go to the toilet as we had to keep seat belts on. It was so horrendous. Had to get extra sick bags. I felt do bad for the people around me. praying this doesn't last. Iwas totally fine 2 days ago and now I haven't slept in 2 nights as I'm so sick. I'm scared il be like this for weeks.

@Adira: congrats again and welcome. Your baby is gorgeous! You also look really familiar... Very strange!

@Mrs.Lilac: Oh no! That's one of my worst fears on my trip the end of next month.
apricot / 348 posts
@littlek: yeah it was BAD. Poor girl sat on my row. The air stewards were a bit worried I was infecting the plane with some disease so I had to eventually say it was morning sickness. Not loving that a bunch of strangers know I'm ku before my friends!
@AngelicOne: I really hope you don't go through that too. I have only been nauseated so far and not actually sick so not sure what was going on on the plane to make me so sick. Urg.
Sorry, I'm having a pity party. I'm now having a 6 hour layover which isn't helping. Sitting with sick bag at the ready.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: Probably the recirculated air plus plane movement. I have to be careful not to look at my phone will my husband is driving or I get nauseous. Sorry about the 6 hour layover.

Just wanted to add, I bought some anti sickness bands and I think they are helping so go get some if you feel sick! Anything to feel less ill right?
pomelo / 5298 posts
@magnolia: I was on progesterone with my first pregnancy. Progesterone helps to build a healthy placenta in the first trimester. After the first trimester you wouldn't need it as the placenta is developed.

@Mrs.Lilac: Sorry you've been so sick That flight sounds awful! Glad that the pressure bands are helping and I'm sure you'll feel so much better once your flights are over.

@AngelicOne: @magnolia: @Mrs.Lilac: Thank you!!!
@Mrs.Lilac: Oh yikes! Sorry to hear about your flight!! And I've heard of those bands! My step-mother-in-law uses them when she goes sailing to help with sea-sickness!
persimmon / 1050 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: Yes, same here. I've just had the nauseated feeling so far. I get really anxious when flying so the m/s will make it loads of fun. I was looking into those bands yesterday on Amazon. Sorry about the long layover. Hope your last flight isn't too long.

Did anyone get their BFP before AF was late? I feel on edge waiting for AF to be officially late, like it still might show up any day now...

How's everyone doing? The weekend always go by so fast and the week soooo slow. I have a huge work deadline and everything is backed up so I know the end of my week is going to SUCK.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: Yes, I tested at 11 DPO and my period was due sometime between 12 - 14. I was really scared of that too and that it would be a chemical pregnancy.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: Once you passed when AF was supposed to arrive and didn't, did you feel better? I'm worried about the same thing - just waiting for AF to be officially late and hoping that that takes some of the edge off!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: Kinda. I'll feel better next wednesday when we go in for the U/S and see a healthy baby.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: Does your practice usually do u/s that early or is there a reason why you've having one that early? I don't think I'll get one until 12+ weeks at my practice...
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: We were trying for 8 months to get pregnant so my OB knows I'm very nervous and told me I can get in as soon as I wanted for an U/S but that was the earliest date he recommended.

@sandy: I really like Sprout & Ovia so far!
Wow, I missed so much over the weekend! So happy to see so many additions to the group!
@mrs.lilac: Yuck I am so sorry you had a terrible flight. Welcome to the USA and I hope you have a fabulous vacation!
@adira: WELCOME WELCOME! So excited for you to join us! For some odd reason, my OB gave me an u/s when I went in for blood test at just 4 weeks! And I'm going back this Friday for another u/s! They said I can have an u/s every week if I want to?! It's very strange and def not the norm that I'm seeing on the boards.
So just found out SIL is expecting #2, she's due 11/30. Her #1 literally just turned 1 so they'll be less than 2 years apart! Got me to start thinking about how we want to space out #1 and #2!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: Gotcha! I'm jealous you're getting one so early! I'm tempted to be all "Uh, I don't remember when my period was..." in order to get a dating ultrasound. Is that bad?
@snowjewelz: Wow! Could you see anything at 4 weeks? I didn't even think the sac was visible that early, but I don't actually know! But that's awesome you get to go in for one so early! Definitely being able to see that everything is okay gives such peace of mind!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: I was originally scheduled for 10 weeks and I was like, there is no way in hell I'm waiting 10 weeks.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: haha, nice! Maybe when I call (on Wednesday if AF really doesn't show up, fingers crossed), I'll tell them when my LMP was, but then say that I'm pretty sure I ovulated late and ask if I can come in for a dating ultrasound.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: I wouldn't go in any earlier than 6 weeks, but maybe see if they can get you in at 8, that's way better.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: Yeah, last time I went in around 7.5, but that was because I had bleeding. Hoping not to experience that this time around, but I still would like an early u/s!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: I had bleeding last pregnancy too and went in for an early U/S. ***fingers crossed (knocking on wood) no spotting/bleeding this pregnancy for either of us.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Nope! She said this bubble could be the sag. And by this Friday I should have a "bubble within the bubble" which would be the baby, and maybe even a heartbeat. I def want to talk to the OB though, b/c I'm not sure if I want that many u/s in case it's not good (Mrs. Lilac posted this article about harms of over u/s)
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@littlek: I have had no spotting whatsoever too! And I still have no other symptoms other than slight bloating & cramping
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@snowjewelz: If you can, you may want to hold off and go back in 1 week, then you will definitely see something.
