@littlek: I'm sorry you were so sick on your flight. My travel day was the longest day of my life, I just need to block it from memory. Tyler did not sleep a wink during the 2.5 hr car ride, 4 hr flight, 2.5 hour layover, or 1.25 hr flight except during he last 10 mins of descent. To say I was exhausted is an understatement. I went to vegas at 11 wks last time -- not as much fun when you can't booze it up!

@Mrs.Lilac: I am still jogging 3-4 times a week. Since I will likely be on bed rest or at least low activity later in pregnancy I want to stay active as long as possible. It makes me feel better even when I feel like crap.

I'm a little nervous that since my ultrasound last week I feel less nauseous and my boobs barely hurt anymore. I am still incredibly hungry but my other symptoms seem better. I didn't have many symptoms last pregnancy except sore boobs and hunger so I hope the little bean is still ok.

@littlek: being sick and stuck on a plane sounds awful...hope the flight home isn't as bad. Hang in there!

@winniebee: are you back home or do you still have a flight home to deal with too? That would be tough wrangling a toddler on a plane and through the airport while dealing with 1st trimester m/s & exhaustion.

@winniebee: don't obsess about the nausea improving...that's so common for it to peak and then subside...easier said than done I know. Focus on your never ending hunger and the bump that appears after a big meal (mine is out of control at the end of the day)

@littlek: I'm sorry for a rough flight. The only good thing I can think about for Las Vegas is awesome blackout curtains = great sleep! I remember when we went for our wedding sleeping much later than I realized because the room was so dark!
@winniebee: I think this is why we haven't flown post kiddo, I can't imagine a day like that. At least in the car the scenery keeps changing and I have a seemingly endless supply of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the DVD.
I hope our travel (by car) in two weeks is manageable. This will be our last vacation for a while, I'm afraid.

@sandy: @FaithFertility: I think it's more the suddenly no sore boobs that is weird to me. But my belly is definitely ginormous lately so I will just focus on that

So I've broke out the sea bands and I **think they are helping a little. I still feel nauseous but they keep me from actually getting sick. Yesterday, was bad. I'm hoping today I will make it through the conference without having to run to the bathroom multiple times. I'm dreading the flight tomorrow.

It's quiet around these parts this week. What are your plans for Mother's Day this weekend?
persimmon / 1168 posts
@MamaG: I am going upstate to the country with my dog and mom. I might tell her about the baby too. I'll be 10 weeks this weekend, and I want to keep the pregnancy news quiet for another month or so. Problem is my mom can't keep a secret. But it would be a sweet Mother's day surprise.

@magnolia: Ugh it sucks when you tell people that can't keep a secret, and that's your mom! lol. But you'll be 10 weeks so even by the time she leaks, you should be in the clear!

@snowjewelz: yeah I love my mom but she's just too exciteable and a bit of an over-sharer... I want to wait because I had a missed mc last year around 12 weeks.. She told a lot of family members before I even had a chance. I just want to be qble to tell my relatives myself this time lol....
Pretty sure with that mc I never made it as far along as I am now and we've treated the cause of my mc's so I'm hopefully optimistic. I have another appt/us on Thursday so I am excited to see the babe.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@magnolia: Aww. I think having been through that maybe she will be a little more reserved for your sake this time around? Or just go all out pregnant crazy on her and cry to scare her from telling anyone else! I am rooting for you and I know this baby is growing and healthy!

@snowjewelz: aww thanks hun. I can definitely cry on command right now so that's a good idea.

How's everyone doing this week?
I had a Dr's appt yesterday, and she wanted me to come back today for an ultrasound because of my spotting. I was a little nervous, but everything looked great I even got to see the little wiggle worm moving around, which I hadn't seen last time!! It was so crazy - s/he was moving so much, kicking its little legs and waving its arms. So incredibly cool!
The picture she gave me isn't the best, but you can see the head on the left, the body on the right, and the little arms on the top and bottom. I think it's from the back. You can even see the little ear
Such a surreal thing, to see it moving and knowing that is inside me!

@theotherstark: awesome pic! I have an appt tomorrow and was wondering how much bigger the babe will be so it's great to see! So cute!
I've been nauseous at night and nothing sounds good to eat but otherwise feeling OK. It's hard for me to complain after reading about others' loss I am just happy to be pg. Busy with work and starting to feel like I have tiny bump. Might tell my supervisor (who is 6 months pg and knows about my struggles in the past) tomorrow....Anybody spill the beans at work yet?

@theotherstark: Awesome picture!!!
I have my first OB appointment on Friday! It won't be anything special though. This is just the one where they give me the binder (that I already have) and all the information (that I already know), haha. Plus order all the lab work, so I'll probably get a bunch of blood drawn. Wheeee!
