@sandy: I gained more weight than what I wanted to with B. I plan on being better about eating and exercising this time.

@cram88: Mine are definitely starting to feel sore and heavier too. Nothing crazy though.

@MsMini: Ugh, I'm sorry. Did you have morning sickness with your first pregnancy as well? I didn't have morning sickness when I was pregnant with B. I'm so early, only 4 weeks, I don't think if I was to get MS it would start yet.

My only symptoms so far are only: aversion to certain food, major bloat and fatigue. I've napped the past 2 days and I NEVER nap. Unfortunately I don't think taking a 2 hour nap would be appreciated by my bosses. so, I will just have to go to be early during the week and save my naps for the weekend.

@littlek: oo right on with the heavy part! my boobs are just a little tender and was itchy for a bit, but I was in the shower this morning and I thought to myself, why do the girls seem so heavy?!

I think I'm going to continue accupuncture to help relax. I don't think I will really really relax until the OB appt and we can see the heartbeat though..... why can't it be the end of april already????

@littlek: I had hyper emesis with S, which is likely to recur in subsequent pregnancies

@littlek: it was brutal, lost tons of weight and was throwing up even in the OR for my c-section last time. Boo.

@missybear: My boobs have hurt SO BADLY, basically since I O'ed, but they really ramped up around 9dpo (when I think I implanted) and they haven't gotten better since Ugh. It hurts to walk sometimes, and my boobs aren't even that big! Does this get better, or will they hurt the entire pregnancy??

@MsMini: Sorry about the MS I've been feeling pretty queasy in the mornings when I first wake up, and have had little bouts sometimes during the day, but nothing too bad yet. I'm a little nervous, since I'm already getting some queasiness. I hope they can get you on meds asap!

@snowjewelz: Dude, I am so bloated. I feel silly, but sometimes I'm already unbuttoning my pants. It probably doesn't help that I'm trying to eat more protein every day while I still feel like eating it

@littlek: I rarely nap, but I took long naps each day this weekend too! My dog was pretty confused, but he was happy to snuggle And I definitely feel you on wanting it to be the end of April! It can't come soon enough.

@theotherstark: I'm already wearing leggings & w a dress today, and I STILL feel like busting out My stomach is growling at me and I am hungry but I can't really fathom eating!

@littlek: boo to having blood drawn So excited for your u/s tho! Just 2 more weeks for you!

@sandy: I think that's exactly what I would say if I saw two babes on an u/s this pregnancy. I"m sure I would come around, but it's a scary thought!

@theotherstark: I'm still expecting to see blood every time I go to the bathroom too. I can't remember how long that feeling lasted with my last pregnancy, but FWIW I did have an episode of unexplained bleeding at 8 weeks and now I have a healthy 18 month old! Oh, and you're not on the wrong thread, I'm 5'10"

@MsMini: Ugh - sorry you're feeling sick already. I had m/s wtih vomiting until 20 weeks with my last pregnancy (nothing like hyper emesis though, I can't imagine). I feel like I"m just waiting for the sickness to start this time. I hope you can get on some meds and feel better!

@littlek: Yay for early u/s! How far will you be by that point? I don't have an appointment scheduled yet but I'd love to get an early peek too!

  16. MrsF

    honeydew / 7283 posts

Ok ladies - I couldn't wait any longer! Just scheduled my first OB appointment for 4/23 (8 weeks). They said that my OB will order the first u/s after the first appointment (gah!). My OB doesn't routinely do ultrasounds in her office, they are done by the MFM specialists in the hospital where I work. It's going to be a tough wait!

  17. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@MrsF: Ugh waiting sucks! It's such a climatic moment when we get our BFP, and then it's a long lull before anything exciting happens...

I was thinking I at least would have a date for my appointment today, but now I have to wait for Wed or even later (if they need time for the blood test) to get an actual appointment day!

@snowjewelz: I'm with you on the long lull... it's so hard! I hope you get your appointment day soon!

  19. cram88

@snowjewelz: I don't have an appointment yet either I'll do betas until my numbers are high enough to see something. It's bumming me out not having an exact date either!

@cram88: Are you working through a RE?

I feel like this TWW is worse than the other TWW. I have an accupuncture appt tomorrow morning. I need it.

  21. cram88

    cherry / 232 posts

@littlek: No, I was doing Napro through an OB. I had a missed miscarriage last year followed by infertility and was on progesterone so she's watching me closely. I had started thinking about doing acupuncture, do you think it helped to get your bfp?

  22. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@cram88: I have no idea. But it's definitely relaxing! I think the thing that really helped was convincing DH to BD more.

  23. MamaG

Yah! Got my second hcg results back. I was at 380 for my first time (within range) and two days later I was at 799. Yippee for more than doubling in 48 hours.

Am I the only one that has given up caffeine and cold cuts? So far going off caffeine has been okay other than water just isn't that exciting compared to a Coke Zero.

Is there anything else that you will avoid now that you are pregnant?

  24. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@MamaG: yay hooray for doubling! :).

I saw my doctor and have prescriptions for 3 different meds for ms and possible hg. He didn't want to do serial betas because if you already have morning sickness then your betas are usually good (I actually know him pretty well through work and he told me to relax and not get crazy LOL). He did order my prenatal baseline bloodwork though.

A dating scan was ordered and the radiology clinic will call me with the date, and I have all the paperwork in hand for the triple screen/NT.

All in all, a pretty productive first visit! I am just anxiously waiting to see when my scan will be.

Also, I need to start OB shopping, because my OB from previous pregnancy is moving this summer - but my family doctor will keep me around as long as 20 weeks.

Does it count as exercise walking to the bathroom every hour? I feel so dehydrated eventhough I'm constantly drinking water.

  28. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@MamaG: I don't eat cold cuts much, so I just have to remember not to buy them! I cut out caffeine and just had a decaf cup of tea today. It Will prob get tougher later on! DH and I thoroughly studied the list of what to eat and what not to eat!

    @littlek: yay! That's soon!

  32. MsMini

    grapefruit / 4056 posts

@MamaG: I don't avoid anything completely while pregnant (other than alcohol) bring on the soft serve, cold cuts, sushi, and caffeine!

  33. sandy

    cantaloupe / 6687 posts

@MamaG: great news! I totally ate a sandwich the other day without thinking about it. That never happened my first pregnancy. But I will be cutting out deli meat going forward - I'm very much a rule follower.

  34. sandy

    cantaloupe / 6687 posts

@MsMini: do you eat the good stuff (the raw fish) or mostly the rolls with crab meat? Do you eat it all through your pregnancy? I love sushi and only allowed myself rolls after the first trimester... I didn't know soft serve was off limits until after I had already had several soft serve cones throughout my pregnancy - ignorance is bliss!

  35. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@sandy: that's awesome! I'm so freaking bloated too. I'm a rule follower as well.

  36. MamaG

    pomelo / 5298 posts

@sandy: I didn't skip soft serve the first time either. I was all about frozen yogurt until I was given the gestational diabetes diagnosis.

I will skip cold cuts this time around again though.

  37. MrsF

    honeydew / 7283 posts

    @MamaG: Great numbers!

I'm trying to scale back the caffeine a little but I can't take my migraine meds when pregnant (I usually take daily preventatives and then other meds as needed) so I figure the coffee is sort of the lesser of two evils headache-wise. In my last pregnancy I didn't even want any coffee for months with the m/s, so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens again.

I'm a pretty big rule-follower otherwise though. I'll eat cold cuts after heating them up to the point that they're steaming, but I probably won't have sushi (raw) or soft-serve, etc.

Right now the thing that I'm missing the most is being able to take cold meds! I have a terrible cold and I just want to take some Sudafed or Nyquil! Oh well...

  38. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

I'm def trying to follow all the rules b/c it's #1 and so early and I'm so afraid! I don't even want to drink decaf tea lol, I'm crazy! Hopefully I'll let up after 1st tri.

Cramps, bloating, backache & sore boobs still happening... I'm already constantly whining to DH. He's like oh boy, this is going to go on for 9 months?! I also passed out at 9:30 last night.

I realize I really, really, really need to go back to the gym to keep up my routine so I can try to control my weight gain and feel better for the rest of the pregnancy!

  39. theotherstark

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

@MrsF: Woohoo - yay for scheduling your first appt! But boo to having to wait for an U/S. Sorry about your cold, too Yeah, the no-meds thing really sucks. I get really bad seasonal allergies, so I'm nervous about those. My PCP told me at my appt today that Claritin was okay to take, so hopefully that should help.

@littlek: It's definitely worse than the other TWW!! Ha. Hope acupuncture can bring you some relaxation and stress-relief.

@MamaG: YAY for more than doubling!! That is such great news. I essentially stopped drinking coffee and booze when we started TTC. I also won't be eating cold cuts or sushi, although I don't really eat those things anyway. We try to eat mainly paleo at home, so I will hopefully be able to continue to do so. We'll see how strong I am, though, once m/s kicks in

@MsMini: Glad that you got some meds, and it sounds like you got a lot done/scheduled! It's always nice to feel productive. Part of why I'm so anxious right now is just not knowing what I should be doing!

@snowjewelz: Yeah, I need to get back to the gym too, but I'm nervous since I'd been bad about working out in the months prior to conceiving. I've been easing back into yoga, and have continued my long walks with my dog. We'll see.

@sandy: I usually didn't feel like the good stuff, but when I wanted it I ate it! They usually flash freeze the fish to transport it to where I am, and I only eat at reputable places, so I figures it was ok! I stress. Log about the big things, that you can't control, because of what I do for work, but I cut myself a lot of slack on the little things!

@theotherstark: I am so glad I got the meds, I am really drowsy from them today, but I feel so much better nausea wise. I am determined to get ahead of the MS this time around.

@MrsF: even with HG last time I could always keep lattes down! I think they were the only thing I could consistently eat/drink!
