Pasteurized cheeses are totally fine even if they are soft. It's just unpasteurized stuff u shouldn't eat. And most cheeses in the us are pasteurized.

@sandy: I only get sick in the morning and at night, so I feel like that is a movement in the right direction. I can't believe we are almost out of the first trimester!!! Yay!!!

@AngelicOne: Ugh, I'm still impatiently waiting for my peaches to ripen!!
@AngelicOne: Ha, I hope not!!
@winniebee: That's what I heard about soft cheeses as well.

I had my second scan yesterday and saw my lil bean. Heard the heartbeat and measuring in as expected at 9 weeks. Dr prescribed a prenatal with b6 to help alleviate the nausea. NT scan scheduled for June 12. Hoping to get good results and squeeze in a father's day announcement. Had a strange hot flash and almost passed out at work earlier this week and 2 coworkers called me right out with "are you pregnant". I tried to laugh it off but they know something is up. Not ready to let them know yet... parents first.

@babypie: Glad your scan went well and you got to see your bean!

Man I had a rough day yesterday... I was at work till 11am. I had a horrible sinus headache (I always get it before it rains), and since I was afraid to take anything, I couldn't even look at the comp screen & felt so nauseous so I went home. I had to literally sleep in a dark room with a warm cloth covering my forehead/eyes.
I eventually got up to go to my NT scan... Was very happy to see a happy, moving & pretty big (compared to 8 wks) baby! It waved at us (or so I thought haha). For a while the baby wasn't in optimal position; the tech kept telling me to cough as babies sometimes move around when you cough. Thankfully they were able to get what they needed from me. I got blood taken, and they actually did abdominal and vaginal (to check my cervix).
I'm supposed to go back in a month for "part 2", and then one more time for a full anatomy scan.

@snowjewelz: Yikes! Sorry to hear about your rough day yesterday! I hope you're feeling better today! And yay for a successful NT scan!! Glad you were finally able to get baby in the right position to get all the measurements needed!

So I just had breakfast less than an hour ago and I want a second breakfast already!

@Adira: Haha go for it!
I gained like 5+ lbs, but I don't even think I eat much more!

Last day of the first trimester (13w2d today) and hoping it gets better! I haven't been posting but have been following along, haven't really felt good enough to have anything great to share and this group moves so fast!
I definitely have a bump now, which is weird since I have lost five pounds and not gained any of it back, but I don't mind since I looooove the bump! Hoping I can manage to hide it for another few weeks, and then I'll tell my work. NOT looking forward to that.

@missybear: Why not?
And this may very well be a stupid question... But isn't 1st trimester done after you pass 12 weeks?
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Adira: ha, I've been having second lunches for the last few weeks.
@missybear: nice! I hope you feel better soon
@snowjewelz: I think I have read different things for when the first tri ends; I think generally they say after 13 weeks?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: I guess b/c the first 2 weeks technically are nothing b/c sperm didn't even meet egg, so it makes sense that 14 weeks is the beginning of 2nd trimester... Ah, so confusing!
I don't care, after my next appt and after all the tests results, I'm telling grandma!

@snowjewelz: Ha, I'm 12w1d and we just had our NT scan. We've basically just given up and are telling everyone at this point
apricot / 348 posts
@theotherstark: I've told way way too many people. Had a little cry the other night because I thought I had 'tempted fate' (don't know if that's an English saying?).
Glad everyone's scans have been going well. My first scan is on Wednesday!!!! I finally feel better and not sick which is nice too.
I have a hen do (bachelorette party) next weekend. The bride is also pregnant, due the same week as me, and her friend send us the info of what they had planned. We are going wine tasting and then clay pigeon shooting!! Both things I can't do pregnant but neither can the bride! I don't feel like it's my place to say anything but how crap for her. She will have to watch everyone else have fun!? Think it was been very badly organised. I checked and the organisers know she is pregnant. She even told me 'sorry you can't take part in any activity'. I was like, erm, yeah, I'm not the only one!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: Yay for not feeling so sick anymore!
And... who is planning this party?! What's the bride gonna do, sit there and watch everyone else drink wine at HER party?! Does this person understand what it means to be pregnant?!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: yeah, I've just given up on keeping it a secret, remembering who knows and who doesn't. Haha.
Oh man, that does seem really strange that they scheduled everything the bride can't do! What the heck?! That's really inconsiderate.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: risk of miscarriage goes way down at 12w but the second tri doesn't begin Until 13w and a few days. Confusing!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: I feel like I'm not even sure what week I am sometimes haha! I didn't even ask the tech if I'm measuring on time, ahead, behind, etc. I really need to make a long list of questions for my next appt!
grape / 88 posts
@snowjewelz: it varies where you look, but I was just thinking 40 weeks divided by three trimesters means that each trimester is thirteen weeks and a couple days. But some people say 12 weeks, and some say 14. I was just going mathmatically And then I'm just dreading telling htem because I accepted a promotion right around the time I got my bfp, and then I won't be returning to work after the baby is born. I just feel bad haha that's all.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@missybear: Aww. When would you have to tell them you're not going back? I'm sure they'll be happy for you! No one would ever turn down a promotion even knowing they'd be leaving!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@missybear: you definitely don't need to tell them you are returning or not at this point. Just get a copy of the maternity leave policy to see what it says. At my old job I just had to notify them 60 days before my leave was to begin and verify that I was returning to work in order to receive benefits. Some jobs make you pay back your leave if you do not return (mind did).

@babypie: super cute!
I've decided week 10 has been the worst for me so far. Nausea came back at 9w, my food aversions are back, my boobs are frieking killing, and I just want to sleep all day but my 2 year old doesn't like that idea much! I'm 10w tomorrow and hoping that this turn around soon. I feel so much worse this time around. It must be a girl!
Anyone else have a strong feeling about boy v girl? Last time I really thought he was it was a boy and it was a boy. I am having strong girl vibes this time so we shall see!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: I'm with you girl, my adversions are killer!
Hats off to you and all other Mamas with a LO, I couldn't imagine, I have slept/been in bed all weekend!
KUDOS!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@winniebee: sorry the nausea/aversions are back. I will say I think week 10 was one of the toughest for me too. I felt awful and just being sick for so long was really getting to me. I'm hoping it is the peak of the all day sickness for you. I feel like once I hit 12 weeks things improved a lot. I'm almost 13 weeks and although I still get sick and still deal with aversions/smells it's so much better

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend! Currently watching DH mop the floors before a family BBQ!

@winniebee: We are thinking it's a girl. I used to think I wanted a boy first but I guess I've changed my mind. The ultrasound tech said "he" at my appointment the other day which bugged me out!!! But it's definitely too early to tell.
Hope you are feeling better! Nausea hit me around 9-10 weeks, which is funny because I thought I was in the clear around then.

@babypie: Cute!! Does your daughter know yet that she is going to be a big sister??
honeydew / 7283 posts
@magnolia: The ultrasound tech guessed "boy" during my NT scan with my last pregnancy but we have a lovely girl! We asked them not even to guess this time because it really is too early. I can't wait to know!
apricot / 348 posts
@snowjewelz: @theotherstark: @FaithFertility: totally weird. She knows as does most of the guests. I'm so confused about it. I kinda wish I didn't have to go but I think I'm going to have to be there to keep her company the whole time!
I was having strong boy vibes but I had such a vivid dream that I had a girl the other night that now I'm not sure (in the dream my placenta got stuck and the doctor had to reach into my womb and pull it out! It was the strangest dream and really painful
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Oh no! I can't believe it all came back! I hope it goes away asap!
At almost the tail end of 11 wks I feel much better! I still can't really figure out though if I really feel better, or just got used to not feeling good lol.
After the NT scan last week I still have no idea. DH says it looks like a boy cause it has big feet?! I think when we have our 12 week appt next week I will ask if they can see anything yet~
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
It's not possible to feel movement this early (11 weeks), is it?? Yesterday and today I've felt what are PROBABLY gas bubbles, but that's what I thought was happening last time around I felt early kicks...
But it's way too early, right???
persimmon / 1168 posts
@snowjewelz: big feet LOL!!!
The ultrasound tech showed me a shot of little hands at the last appointment.... So cute!!!!
@MrsF: Why do they try to guess so early??? So annoying! I am anxious to find out too!
****I have follow up perinatal appt tomorrow 5/28 and regular OB appt 6/9******
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: lol gas bubbles from what I've read you're not supposed to feel much, but maybe you're very sensitive?
@MrsF: @magnolia: I do agree... I almost just don't want to ask what they think it is at all in case they guess wrong!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: haha, it's probably just gas!!! I'm probably just excited to start feeling things for real!
