@magnolia: She's only 18 months. I did ask her to kiss the baby and pointed to my belly yesterday and she did and hugged it. too cute!

** my next appt is on June 20 **
It's not an ultrasound appt, but at least I get to hear my baby's HB

Hi ladies! So sorry I've basically dropped off the planet for a long time, but life is crazy and my m/s has been seriously kicking my butt! But, I had my second Dr appointment today and got to see baby for the first time. It measured in at 10w4d, so right on schedule for my due date. We got some pretty good shots, especially this one of it waving hi
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
***Next appointments are on June 6 (NT scan) and June 26 (Dr visit) ****

@Adira: I think in general you feel things earlier the second time. A woman in my mat 2012 moms group felt movent at 11 weeks others at 13 the second time around.

@MrsScallop: Nice shot!
I'll be honest, I've been a little stressed out about the potential for a miscarriage the past few days. There was a thread a day or so ago about how some women didn't know they'd miscarried until they went in for the NT scan at 12 weeks. We're not doing an NT scan, so at my first appt (at 13 weeks), the doc will attempt to find the heartbeat via doppler. What if she can't find it? Then I'll have to go to another place to have an US, I guess, to confirm a miscarriage (no US at my doc's office). Just stresses me out thinking about the possibility.
I'm trying to tell myself that, if I do miscarry, it's not because of anything I did or didn't do. It's because this baby wasn't meant to be born. That there is/was something wrong that made him/her not viable for life outside of my body. That makes me feel a little better.

@allison: I know this isn't much help, but I was pretty terrified before my appointment today too. I was even having dreams after my first appointment (where all they did was collect blood and urine for tests) that the Dr called to tell me I wasn't pregnant at all and just imagining it. I think reminding yourself that no matter what, it wasn't something you did wrong that caused a miscarriage definitely helps. Hugs though! These early days before you have confirmation that there really is a baby growing in there are tough!

@MrsScallop: So cute!!! What a great shot!!
@winniebee: Hmm... well now you've got me wondering! It just seems like it's gotta be too early to feel anything, but I do know the baby is measuring large, so maybe??? Guess I'll have to see if I continue to feel anything or not.
@allison: I'm not positive, but I think it's probably pretty rare to get to 12/13 weeks and have a missed miscarriage. I think most miscarriages happen fairly early on and the body is usually pretty good about dispelling everything. I don't know the actual stats, but I think your chances are good that everything is okay!!

@allison: I'm in the same boat in that I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks but nothing since and don't have my NT scan until after my 12 week appt. my doc office doesn't have an us machine so if she can't find the HB at that visit I would have to go to the hospital for an us. I feel like crap and my stomach is huge for10w so hoping it's a good sign!

@winniebee: yeah, I feel like crap too, so trying to take that as a good sign.

Haven't posted in a while again! Morning sickness has been brutal this time around and I've had some kind of sickness on top of it almost the whole time (3 colds, and the flu). I'm 12+1 today and we heard baby's heartbeat for the first time last week! I've had 5 ultrasounds so far and they all looked great! I didn't find out that we had lost the baby until 11 weeks last time (passed at 9), so I'm thrilled to be past that point with a heartbeat! My office does the 1 hour glucose test in the first and third tri and I failed it so I'll be doing the 3 hours soon. I'm fairly certain it's just a fluke but fingers crossed I pass that.
My next appointment is June 17th and I'll be setting my anatomy scan up in the next few days, just waiting for the peri to call me.
In other news I had my blood drawn for Panorama 5/14 and got the results today! Low risk for everything and we are having another little boy

@cram88: what a cutie! So happy for you that everything is looking good for you and baby boy! Congrats!! That is
So exciting you are having another boy!!! I failed my 1 hour glucose my first pregnancy too and passed the 3 hour - lesson I learned was not to eat a giant bowl of sugary cereal the day of the test

@sandy: Thanks! We were in a rush that morning so without thinking I grabbed a granola bar and Capri sun for breakfast, I realized after those weren't the smartest choices! Stupid capri sun cravings They also drew my blood at 50 minutes instead of the hour so I have hopes it was just a faulty test. I'm so not looking forward to the 3 hour though which is why I'm putting it off until next week!

@cram88: congrats again on another boy! I just love this picture!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cram88: Oh my gosh, congratulations!!!! So jealous you know the gender already!!! And so glad to hear all your u/s have gone well and everything is looking good! Bummer about having to do the 3 hour glucose test though!

How is everyone feeling? I'm 11 weeks, but I THINK I might be coming out of that first trimester fatigue. Last night, I felt downright energetic! Though maybe that was a fluke...

@winniebee: Since Holden and T are twins maybe we'll have twin boys for #2 as well

Just had my first scan!! So excited. It was so amazing to see the baby moving and jumping around. He said I had a very active baby! I was so emotional. Best experience of my life I think! I asked them when I could find out the sex and he said he thought it was 70% chance that it was a girl!!! I was meant to be team green but never mind! I'm so excited. I thought it was too early to tell but he said he was pretty convinced but can't say 100%. I'm in shock! Of course it could be wrong.
They did some blood work and told me I had a 1:15,000 chance of a baby with Down syndrome so that was reassuring too.
*** my new due day is 8th December. My next check up is 30th June and next scan is 25th July.

@MrsScallop: What a great shot!! Little arm and hand. Love it. Oh, and m/s has been kicking my butt too
I thought it was supposed to be gone by 13 weeks?! Sigh.
@allison: It's so hard not to stress out about it! Hopefully you can do lots of relaxing, calming things to take your mind off it, like bubble baths and pedicures
@cram88: Ugh, I'm sorry you've been so sick on top of the m/s!! That really, really sucks. And I'm sorry about the glucose test, but hopefully you'll get good results on the 3 hr! No more capri suns the day-of Oh, and your little dude is such a cutie!! Love that picture. And so neat you found out the sex already!! Congratulations on your little boy
@Adira: Ugh, I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and I still feel super crappy I'm hoping I start to feel better soon?? Please?

@Mrs.Lilac: Fantastic looking baby right there!!! Congratulations!!!

@Mrs.Lilac: Awww!! Great pic Isn't it wonderful to see them moving around?? I still get a little teary at every ultrasound
It's crazy he thinks he knows the sex already! It seems so early. I wonder if he'll be right?!

@Adira: thanks Hun. I got he pictures for free as he said they were really bad quality! Still Looks cute to me though!
@theotherstark: I know! I'm only 12 weeks but he said he would see the boy parts at this point... Who knows. He said he would be surprised to be wrong at the next scan. I'm just happy the baby is healthy. Yay.

Hi everyone! I've been a lurker for awhile but am FINALLY posting! I am due with my first on December 2nd and so excited! I do have an 11 year old step daughter who is looking forward to babysitting.
So far this pregnancy has been too easy so I've been worried about whether or not there was really a baby in there! Was so glad to hear the heartbeat at 12 weeks so now I know this is real! I haven't had any morning sickness, just been a little tired but not overly.
We told the parents on mother's day and will probably tell the rest of the family around father's day. Telling friends when we see them, although my husbands been telling everyone, lol, he's too excited to keep quiet.
Next appt. is June 17th and my first ultrasound is July 14th. Hoping to follow this board a little better now.

@josina: Welcome! And congratulations!!! How did your parents take the news? Will this be their first grandchild?
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: Thanks! This will be the first grandchild for my parents, so they are pretty excited. My mom is antsy to start telling people as well and is going through all our (mine, my 2 sister's + brother's) baby clothes to see what she can pass on to the little one.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Welcome, and love that you already have a built in baby sitter
@Mrs.Lilac: So cute! At our NT scan we didn't even ask. I'm still wondering if I should ask at the next appt or just wait till they can tell me for sure
@cram88: Aww yay! Congrats!!
@Adira: I'm 12 weeks today and I think I'm finally feeling better too!

@josina: Welcome and congratulations
My anatomy scan is July 10th for the next list update!

@cram88: awwww congrats on another little boy!! That is so exciting.
Is it possible to feel movement yet? I'm 14 weeks today, and last night while I was trying to fall asleep I could have sworn I felt something similar to a fish swimming around in my lower abdomen, like between my hipbones? Or maybe I was imagining it haha
So far I have felt good for two days (knock on wood) and am praying SO HARD that this is where it gets better! Second trimester goodness, please kick in soon! We get our anatomy scan June 30, and I am so excited. I have no clue either way whether it will be a boy or girl, so I'm really excited.
Anyone else (still) having miscarriage nightmares? I hate that almost every night I have a dream that my baby has died and my body hasn't registered it. Not a fan of this at all
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@missybear: So I'm 11 weeks and thinking I feel stuff so.... we're probably both imagining it.
Have you had a u/s lately? Or heard the heartbeat? At this point in the game, your chance of miscarriage is pretty slim, though I totally get how it's hard not to worry!!!

I have my NT scan today in about 5 hrs and then am off for vacation starting tomorrow so I won't be around for about 10 days.

@Adira: is it bad that I gage how many weeks I am off how many you are. I keep forgetting I am pregnant and I cant ever remember how far along I am!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cheert16: hahaha, not at all!!! I only remember when I feel nauseous, look at my stomach in the mirror, or check my calendar (I put the weeks in there so I know how far along I am)!
nectarine / 2631 posts
@Adira: I noticed my stomach today as I was getting dressed- I think the baby is just pushing my fat out more! I should put the weeks in my calendar- smart!! You are due 12/16? right? I am only 3 days ahead of you- at least someone will be keeping track (and I mean you!!)
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cheert16: Yes, I'm in the same boat!! All my extra flab is now pointing out in a very noticeable bump instead of just hanging everywhere like it was before!! I swear I look 16-18 weeks pregnant instead of the 11 I really am! And I've got your back - I'll keep you in the know on how far along you are. From now on, I'll be all "So I'm 11w1d (@cheert16: you're 11w4d), and I think I felt kicks - that's not normal right?"
