@cram88: good point. As of now it is at OB office not sure if it will change.

**Due date change: OBGYN says 12/14 that was what we thought, but RE said 12/17
So back to 12/14
Next apt: 7/9 I'll be 17 weeks, I don't know if I'll get u/s or not, but we got to hear heart beat on Monday, that was amazing!
pomelo / 5298 posts
Just left the doctor's office. Was a quick visit as I didn't really have any questions. Heard heartbeat on doppler, baby was active and kicking as well. The Panorama test was insufficient for the second time. The test requires 5-6% of fetal cells and I was at 3.9%. The lab tech suspects that the wrong needle was used on the test last week. Regardless, we repeated the blood draw again today and are hoping for better results. My OB said we will continue to repeat until we get results. It's just hard to be disappointed.
My next appointment will include the glucose test, and hemoglobin/AC1 test. I had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy so I'm being tested earlier. Yippee!
***MFM Anatomy scan 6/18***
***Next OB appointment, Glucose test 7/7***

@MamaG: Ugh, I'm so sorry. That's soo annoying. What needle did they use? Hopefully they used a different one this time.
pomelo / 5298 posts
Apparently a straight needle is required. They suspect the new tech last week used a butterfly needle. I tend to look the other way, so I really don't have any idea. I do know that i felt the needle more today, so I'm inclined to think they are right. I keep telling myself that it's okay. With my first I wasn't sure of gender until 20 weeks. I'm only 14 weeks. It's early!
The hard part for me is that we didn't do a NT scan. So I have no idea about any of the chromosomal possibilities at this point. And unfortunately, I'm 39 so my risks are just getting higher.
At the end of the day, all will be okay. DH couldn't go with me today and I was feeling anxious about finding out gender without him there. It felt a bit unfair. Maybe it was a blessing.

So there have been some confusion about my due date.
*** now I'm actually due 11/28 ***
And I'm 15 weeks on the dot. I think since I told them I ovulated late and they were just seeing a sac for a while, they thought I was later too but the baby's measuring on track! Of course I am not leaving this board, since the chance of me giving birth in Dec is still pretty high.
Next appt
*** 6/18 for NT scans part 2 ***
*** 7/7 for OB ***
I'm kinda freaking out cuz I didn't think I'm this far along!

@snowjewelz: wow that's crazy... Babies come when they come so I don't put much stock in EDD...

@littlek: yeah, that's what my doc said too so I'm like ok! I just prefer dec bc mine, my dad's and my sister's bdays are all Nov lol!

@snowjewelz: when people ask my due date I am always vague. I'll say late November/early December.

@MamaG: Ugh that's so frustrating!! Hopefully they will FINALLY get the results! That's crazy.
@snowjewelz: Ha, well at least you're further along than you thought?? Hopefully get to find out the sex sooner!

@littlek: Yay!!! Congrats!!!
Ugh, I'm so annoyed. We're telling people about the pregnancy Father's Day weekend and we're spending Father's Day with Hubs' Dad, but I just found out they are having a whole HOST of people over!! WTF?? Who has a huge party for Father's Day?? We'll probably still tell them then, but now every single person they know will ALSO find out then. So irritating. I thought it was going to be just a small family get-together, not a huge party!

*** Sorry to be a pain but after the last ultrasound when the man told me it might be a girl, we are no longer team green!!! You don't need to change anything though. We totally were not going to find out but when he said he could tell me I just went for it! Oops. We will confirm ya next u/s.

@Adira: Why don't you guys host your own thing at your house, where you can invite exactly who you want, and have a big announcement then? Then it can be just how you want it.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: Were you planning on announcing at the party? Or going early and telling them then? If the later, I don't see why you should change your plan. When we told our family, it was just over the phone.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: are you bummed you found out? I could never be team green.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@allison: Well, we were planning on telling that weekend... so we'd have to wait a few more weeks if we wanted to try to invite them over, or longer because they are always so busy during the summer. Plus I'm sure try would just figure it out anyway when we see them because I LOOK pregnant, plus I won't drink anything.
@littlek: We were planning on announcing, but I had no idea until today that it was going to be a party! I just thought it was immediate family for a small Father's Day get-together!

@mamag: That's really annoying! I hate waiting. Hopefully, third time is the charm!
@adira: I would maybe go a little early, so you can just tell family if that's what you'd like...
We haven't told anyone yet. Waiting to hit the 2nd trimester. It feels like it's taking forever!

@littlek: no I'm actually now really excited about knowing now. Wanted a surprise but I figured meeting your child is an amazing enough experience, plus I want to get some clothes and decorate the nursery. I was gonna do it totally neutral but now I'm thinking of having a lilac and grey theme if it's a girl. That was my wedding colour theme too! In fact, my pic for hellobee was part of my wedding stationary!
Thank you all for your kind words re my husband. Just wanted to update you all. He has been in hospital all week but got discharged today. They can't figure out what's wrong with him. He is still numb from waist down but after 5 MRI scans, a lumbar puncher and countless other tests they are none the wiser as to the course. Anyway, I'm glad he is on his way home and hopefully it will go soon?! I got sent home fro hospital yesterday as they found out I was pregnant and told me the risk of infection was too high to be there!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@mrsbookworm: Yeah, originally they said we could come over at 1:00, but I asked if we could arrive earlier to time our drive with Xander's nap, so hopefully we'll be one of the first ones there to break the news! Although everyone will know when they arrive because Xander's going to be wearing his Big Brother shirt.

@Mrs.Lilac: Sorry to hear that they couldn't figure out what was wrong! I hope the numbness is just a fluke and goes away or something??? At least he can finally be home with you!

@MamaG: oh I'm so sorry this happened :(. I hope 3rd time is a charm.
@snowjewelz: nice! Due dates are so random who knows. But it's nice to suddenly be further along
@Mrs.Lilac: I hope he is on the mend soon.
@Adira: I would just go over their house before the party to tell them.

@MamaG: Oh no! I'm sorry it happened again, that's awful! It's weird because they used a butterfly on me like they always do and it worked. I really hope this one comes back conclusive!

@Mrs.Lilac: omg don't apologize! Ha, you're not a pain. I couldn't remember who it was, but I thought someone had found out/weren't team green anymore Let us know when you confirm!!
Sorry to hear they didn't figure out what is going on with your husband, but at least he is going home. Hopefully it gets better soon!

@MamaG: annoying! Hope next time works out so you can have peace of mind and and can stop getting stuck with more needles!
@littlek: woo hoo! It's so nice to get the reassurance that baby is doing ok.
@Mrs.Lilac: that is awful that you don't have any answers but hopefully it was just some fluke and he's better soon. Thinking of you guys!
So my OB injured his hand a few months ago so I've been seeing the other OB in his office. He was supposed to be back in June but I just got a call that he hasn't been cleared to come back so I needed to move my appointment to see the other OB. He tore some ligaments in my hand helping someone on the ski lift and had to have surgery. I'm worried about him and whether he'll be 100% when he gets back. He did an amazing job with my csection - I didn't need any staples and my incision was so tiny and healed so quickly. DH tells me not to worry bc he'll only be back when he's fully capable of doing surgery again. I hope so!

@littlek: very pleased he was released. He finally got a good night sleep which will help I'm sure.
@Adira: I'm hoping it will just go away! Who knows
@winniebee: @theotherstark: @sandy: thanks ladies. Hopefully all will be well ASAP.
@FaithFertility: thank you that is very sweet. It has been very stressful. I am exhausted but we are going to spend the weekend together and he will get plenty of TLC.
Have a lovely weekend ladies. Im always confused by the time difference. It's early Saturday morning for me!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@sandy: luckily there is still a lot of time for his hand to heal before you deliver. But I would be anxious as well. Do you like the other OB?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@sandy: oh I am sorry that this happened! There is still a long way to December and I'm confident that he wouldn't go back to work until fully healed.

@whenoceansrise: How adorable! it!
So now that I suddenly sped past 1st trimester, I don't even know how to tell people! Some more co-workers found out b/c I was talking about it w/ another girl that already knew. Some other friends found out as well for the same reason. But I am so bad at telling people! I guess I'll just let the word spread or let my growing bump give it away...
And I am still back & forth about a FB announcement... I'm waiting for my parents to come over for father's day and we'll call my grandma in HK together to tell her, then I'd text my aunts that live there as well. After that, I guess I'll text some close friends that should hear it from me?? And then after that, I think we'll just decide what to do once we find out gender....
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@whenoceansrise: Beautiful video!
@winniebee: YAY!!!! I hit 12 weeks last week and my uterus is FINALLY not putting so much pressure on my bladder! I've been able to actually sleep through the night the last couple nights! How is your bladder treating you?
