@allison: @winniebee: thanks! It feels different then the sort of sharp ligament pain I've had. This is dull, more crampy. I have a routine OB appointment tomorrow so I'll mention it. I'm sure it's nothing!

@littlek: Love it!!! So cute!!! I was a dummy and forgot to get a picture of Xander in his big bro t-shirt and now it's stained. Ugh, I suck.

@Adira: How did it go yesterday?

How is everyone feeling? How was your weekend? I can't believe I'm 2nd trimester and still sick. I got sick 5 times last night and 2 times so far today. This little girl is a diva, like mommy. I can't believe I don't get to see the baby until July 3, that feels SOOOO far away. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

@littlek: It went well (besides getting into a fight with SMIL)! Everyone was super excited for us! And now we're telling my family tonight!

I'm also telling work today. I'm soooooooo nervous. I've been on this team since April, but I still feel like I don't REALLY know any of these people and I'm not sure if they'll be excited for me or just stressed to know I'm going to be out for 12 weeks...

I'm good. 13 weeks today and I feel great. Still really hungry and tired at the end of the day but I will take it. My NT scan is tomorrow and I haven't seen the baby in 7 weeks. I am so excited. Last time I never went that long without seeing baby until the end!

@littlek: have you considered trying zofran or something? That's a lot of sick for the second trimester.

    @Adira: good luck!

@winniebee: I had been averaging about 3 times a day, with it being worse first thing in the morning and late at night (by late I mean 7 p.m. LOL). I have doctors appointment July 3, if I don't feel better by then I'll ask doctor for something. I just started progesterone and I'm not a big fan of taking too many medications.

  8. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@littlek: it could be be progesterone that is heightening your symptoms.

@littlek: Ugh, I'm sorry you're still getting sick so much I'm still getting sick, too, but it's just early in the morning.

And love the pic of your LO with the big bro shirt!! Super cute

We had a relaxing weekend with a bbq at a friends' house and lots of World Cup watching!

@littlek: Great picture of your son. Sorry you are still getting sick. My nausea still comes and goes but is better than in the first trimester.

@Adira: Glad you have shared the news. Hope the rest of the sharing goes well.

I'm 16 weeks today and have my anatomy scan on Wednesday. I'm very anxious as my only u/s so far was at 10 weeks. I had so many u/s in the last half of my first pregnancy that I forgot what it's like in the earlier stages. I'm really hoping that we will learn sex this week because the waiting is killing me.

@MamaG: I am dyyyying too, my appt is Wed as well! I don't even know what scan this is, but I'm def gonna try to get them to take a look! The appt cannot come sooner!

@MamaG: They won't do my anatomy scan till 20 weeks. That's awesome you get yours earlier!! When are you supposed to get your from maternit21? It took 8 business days to get my results.

  13. MamaG

    pomelo / 5298 posts

@littlek: I was told up to two weeks for results. Keep in mind this is my third attempt so I'm getting less patient. I know the last failed test they had the results within 6 business days. I called to check on Friday (5 days) and the test was pending.

I will have two anatomy scans (16 and 20 weeks) with an MFM.

2nd time moms - Did you know w/ your 1st when they kicked? App tells me I can start feeling movement in the next few weeks, but that for 1st time moms I can miss a lot of them since I can't really tell. What are they like?

  15. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@snowjewelz: The first kicks to me felt like gas bubbles. I thought I was just gassy (like blurp blurp blurp in my stomach). That started around 17/18 weeks for me and it wasn't until closer to 22 weeks that I knew it was kicking!

  16. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@Adira: So cool! I'll be 17 weeks this Friday so I'm gonna watch out for some blurp-ing!

  17. Adira

@snowjewelz: Eeeeh, exciting!!! Hope you feel something!!!

  18. theotherstark

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

@MamaG: Ahh, I hope you can find out!!

@littlek: They won't do mine until 20 weeks, either! Ahh, I'm dying to find out.

@snowjewelz: I was wondering this too! I was thinking I maybe felt something last night right before bed, but figured since it's still early and my 1st, it probably was nothing

  19. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@theotherstark: But maybe it was! Haha, that's the problem, I'm just oblivious, I probably won't know until it's so painfully obvious!

  20. cram88

@snowjewelz: I started feeling flutters with my first around 15 weeks, but very sporadic until 18 weeks. With him it felt like little pops!

I first felt this baby a week and a day ago (13+6)! I didn't feel anything again after that until 14+4 and since I've felt him a few times a day. This one feels like brushes against me that tickle. It's always in the same spot where they've been finding his heartbeat!

@cram88: I love your descriptions! Helps me to 'diagnose' anything happening down there!

*sigh* just got the call from my doctor's office that my 3rd Panorama test has been ruled insufficient. I'm quickly becoming a non-believer in this process. I'm glad for others that have been successful but I'm ready to throw in the towel and just move on. Unfortunately, we didn't do a NT scan, so I don't know for certain what my other options are at this point. I guess the Quad Screen which is much less precise.

  23. MamaG

    pomelo / 5298 posts

@snowjewelz: My doctor could feel the movement against the doppler or the change in sound on the doppler and ask me if I could feel it. At this point (even with my 2nd) the movement is very subtle and it's hard for me to distinguish. You will get to the point where it's obvious. My favorite as far as freaking my husband out is when the baby has hiccups. My first had them often (still does too!).

  24. Adira

@MamaG: Wow! That is so frustrating!!! I'm so sorry!

  25. littlek

@MamaG: you are too late for CVS. You could do amnio at 16 weeks if that's allowed.

  26. theotherstark

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

@MamaG: UGH, that is so annoying I'm so, so sorry. I can't believe it failed AGAIN. Blah. I'm no help, but just wanted to say that really sucks.

  27. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@MamaG: Want to say I am sorry to hear that too

  28. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@snowjewelz: I didn't feel anything until 20 weeks but I had an anterior placenta and you feel movement a little later with that. But I never had a question of "was that it". For whatever reason it felt obvious to me (maybe because it was later?)

  29. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@MamaG: ugh I'm so sorry. How frustrating!! Do you think you have specific increased risks or just AMA?

  30. MamaG

    pomelo / 5298 posts

@winniebee: I really believe my only risk is AMA. Honestly, I would have done the NT scan and quad screen again like my prior pregnancy if it was the only option. This seemed very convenient and more precise and early gender confirmation was an added bonus.

@littlek: Doing better pregnancy symptom wise, only really get sick feeling after I eat....chalking that up to indigestion......

I understand about u/s I haven't seen our bean since 9weeks and won't until the 20week anatomy scan
So heart beat will have to do

@Adira: Yay you finally came clean :))))

  32. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@FaithFertility: I ended up not coming clean to work though because the meeting I was going to announce in got canceled!!! Ahhh!!! I hope it's rescheduled for tomorrow because now I just want to tell people!

  33. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@Adira: Can't you tell them individually? That's what people in my office do, they just walk around and tell people individually.

  34. snowjewelz

@Adira: Lol all that build up! Hopefully tomorrow's the day!

@MamaG: Man that really sucks. I'm kinda afraid of that happening to me, but I did do the NT scan so know everything looked ok at least.

@Adira: Yay for telling part of the family.

I had my appt this morning. Did the GD test & was going to redo my Harmony test (was not enough fetal DNA the 1st time), but drawing blood when you haven't had a lot of water (due to the GD test), is a pain so I'm going back tomorrow to redo my Harmony part. Also got to hear the HB again (155 BPM) and got to hear the baby moving around on the doppler. lol

  36. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@AngelicOne: Aww, that's great! I'm sure you already said this but I'm lazy and don't want to scroll back through this massive thread, why did you get GD test so early?

  37. AngelicOne

    persimmon / 1050 posts

@littlek: They didn't say, but I'm guessing it's because of family history because my grandma has diabetes & my mom had GD with my little brother 5 years ago (yes I have a 5 yr old brother...30 yr age gap between us )

  38. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@AngelicOne: Agh gotcha. At least it's over. I don't mind the drink but I hate getting my blood drawn.

  39. AngelicOne

    persimmon / 1050 posts

@littlek: Yeah the drink part wasn't too terrible, but the phlebotomist was a fill in and was having trouble. My veins like to play hide & go seek, so that doesn't help matters either. Hopefully with lots of water, tomorrow goes smoother as I hate needles.

Hi ladies, been MIA recently as my husband is still in and out of hospital feeling numb. Very stressful as they can't figure out why. Anyway, we are praying it will go away on its own. He is a rock climber and getting very scared he won't be able to do it anymore. Poor thing

On a lighter note, I told my class that I am pregnant. I teach reception (5year olds) and when we are in the playground (do you guys call it the yard?!) , they use me as 'base' when they play tig. Anyway, they kept running into my stomach full pelt so I felt it was time! I told a couple of them and it spread like wildfire. Unfortunately, when we talked about it during a lesson, they wanted to know ALL about the facts of life. It was very funny / awkward! They kept asking how the baby got in my tummy and how it comes out. I told them to ask their parents! Eventually, one little boy said "don't worry guys, my dad knows everything, il ask him tonight and let you all know tomorrow!" I couldn't help but giggle. I expect there may have been a few funny conversations at home tonight with the kids! I'm going to try and find some age appropriate books to read to them!
