@littlek: I think I'd feel weird walking up to some of them to tell them because I'm not really that close to them, so it would be awkward. I could see doing that with our team lead because he would need to know, but I want the rest of the team to know at the same time.

@mrslilac: Hope they figure it out soon! Not knowing is scary.

Anybody who's officially in the 2nd trimester get their energy back? I'm looking forward to not going to bed at 8:30 anymore

I have my nuchal ultrasound tomorrow. Babysitter just canceled on me so I'm bringing LO along. Should be fun

@Adira: I can read it just fine. He's so cute!

@mrslilac: Hope they figure out what's going on soon. That has to be scary.

@mrsbookworm: @winniebee: Good luck with the NT scans!

P.S. I still have no energy & want to go to bed early every night.

Had my NT scan and all is well. Baby is so docile compared to how his big brother was in utero! But their profiles look so much alike. One interesting thing is that the ultrasound tech said they aren't allowed to even look for sex before 16w!

Also met with the perinatologist (high risk doc) who said that since I ultimately delivered at term last time, he is treating me like it's a normal pregnancy until I prove otherwise. No progesterone unless my cervix shortens prematurely. I will have more cervical measurements taken after 20w though.

    ***due date change to 12/21
    ***anatomy scan change to 7/23

    And here's baby!

Thanks for listening to me whine yesterday about my test. I'm feeling more optimistic today and will be given my option of all the tests of this variety tomorrow at the perientologist. After doing some research, I'm leaning toward the Harmony test as it seems to have a higher success rate and based on the pricing I found from last year, is considerably cheaper. Even though my insurance is "covering" the test, I have a $4,000 deductible so I will be paying for this out of pocket.

And since littlek and Adira shared their little ones sporting their big bro clothes, here's my girl.

    @winniebee: Aww cutie pie!

I went in & redid my Harmony test so hopefully there is enough DNA to process it this time.

@winniebee: how precious! we are now due date twins!
    @MamaG: what a cutie!

has anyone started researching how much their insurance will cover everything? i just found out that mine will cover one manual or one electric breast pump per pregnancy up to $300. definitely had no idea about that!

i have no idea what to expect for labor and delivery except that my primary insurance covers all but 15%- i have a secondary insurance and i'm hoping that will cover the rest, but i know that's just wishful thinking.

2nd time moms, if you don't mind sharing, do you remember a ballpark number on labor and delivery costs?

@whenoceansrise: Costs! This is based on my c-section birth in 2011 in Texas. The prices I'll list are after insurance adjustment/negotiations. My dr's cost was only mariginally different for a c-section vs vaginal delivery. My hospital stay was longer!

    Dr Fees: $3300
    Hospital: $8500
    Anesthesiologist: $4000

This is only for the delivery and doesn't include all the labs and sonograms I had done as part of my prenatal care.

eta: This doesn't reflect what my insurance or me paid (but rather the combined total), it's simply the bills as submitted to insurance less adjustments to get to insurance negotiated rates.

@littlek: You are so fortunate. I have crummy insurance and my first cost me about $4,000 and this one will be right around $5,000.

@MamaG: funny though my insurance is great for pregnancy but AWFUL at infertility coverage.

    Okay, here I go

    EDD: Decemeber 25th, 2014

When Did You Find Out?: Good Friday

    Child Number: 2

    Where do you live?: Canada

What kind of provider will you see?: OB

When's Your First Appointment?: I have already had a few, my next one is on June 30th

What kind of birth do you want?: I am okay with whatever as long as baby and I are safe. That being said: Epidural please and thank you.

What You're Most Excited For: Right now, to find out if I am having a boy or girl

What You're Most Scared About: Not getting my energy back , even a little. It has been a long first trimester.

Symptoms so far: Night sickness week 7 through 9 ( just felt awful but never actually got sick ) and tiredness. I have been pretty darn lucky so I can't complain.

    @winniebee: Great ultrasound pic!

@mamag: Your little girl is adorable. I'll bet she'll make a great big sister!

Had my nuchal u/s today. It went well - I got to see the baby waving his/her arms around. Very cute! I'm anxious to get the results of the Harmony test back. Hopefully, we'll get them by the beginning of next week.

@MamaG: what an adorable little girl you have!

@mrsbookworm: glad it went well today! I hope the test works this time around.

@whenoceansrise: with my first everything was covered minus a very small bill for hospital services when I had preterm labor. It was amazing. With this pregnancy (and different ins) I have had co pays for all appts and for labs and ultrasounds. We will have yet another insurance come September and I haven't ventured into figuring out what it will cover.

  28. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@whenoceansrise: I'm not a second time mom, but the OBGYN office went over my coverage/costs for labor&delivery

    I pay $15 co-pay every visit
I had to pay a $75 up front blood work fee, but that will cover me until the end
I also pay monthly to the hospital starting 7/9 $130 a month or we can pay the $800 fee out right, that covers labor&delivery
She said extra $200 for epidural
Extra $100 payed in advance if it's a boy and we want him circumsized

That is with our insurance, not too bad I think

@whenoceansrise: Call your insurance and find out your max deductible! I think mine is like 1400 or something. I have not had to pay for my OB visits after the initial co-pay. I probably won't know about the hospital costs till later on, but as long as I know what is the max I have to pay OOP, I'm good to go!

Ahh, 6pm EST is my appt... I reaaaallly hope they can see the nub and figure out what it is already! Or I'd have to wait till 7/7 for my next appt. I'm dyyyyinnnggg!

@whenoceansrise: our insurance blew the first time around and we paid about $8000 out of pocket! We have much better insurance this time and thanks to infertility I met my deductible long ago!

@theotherstark: This isnt even anatomy scan (I don't think). It's supposed to be a 2nd part or follow up from my NT scan... I just read that a lot of people already have luck finding out so I hope they can tell! If not, I'm asking for some good pics to nub theory them myself haha

  36. theotherstark

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

@snowjewelz: Ha, no, I figured yours wasn't. But my anatomy scan is my next u/s, so I won't even be able to theorize until then

I hope you get some good shots!!

We had our first anatomy scan this morning (16+2), and everything looks great. We were able to see the heart (all four chambers), stomach, spine, hands, feet, brain, etc. Everything looks good. Baby is right on track for size at about 7 oz. And the great news was that the doctor was able to get a good shot to determine sex. Our little girl is going to be a big sister to a little SISTER! We are thrilled.

I also had a blood draw for Harmony today. Hopefully that will be able to give us some genetic reassurances. I was shocked at the risk factor numbers I was quoted solely on my age.

    ***Anatomy scan #3 7/9***

@snowjewelz: how many weeks are you? I had an impromptu ultrasound with #1 at 14 + 5 and it was clearly a boy! I bet they would be able to tell as long as they're willing!
