It's a girl!
We're very excited. LO is a boy, so it will be nice to experience both. I'm also excited to shop for girl clothes - I've always been envious of all the selection!

@mrsbookworm: Congrats! Enjoy your little girl. As a mom to one already, they are a lot of fun and you can seriously accumulate some clothes issues, quickly! (Says the mom with BOXES of outgrown barely worn clothes)

@mrsbookworm: Awww yay congrats
I am afraid to have a girl b/c I might have no self control anymore and just buy way too much cute clothes!!

@Adira: Glad you had a good appointment! It's always so reassuring to hear the HB at this stage
@mrsbookworm: Congrats on the and the other results! I'm biased, but little girls are wonderful!

So I've been having bad upper abdominal pain for a few days and actually ended up in the ER last night. I probably wouldn't have gone in but pregnancy makes me so much more worried about everything and the on-call OB pretty much said better safe than sorry. I figured it was my gallbladder but they did labs and an ultrasound of my abdominal organs and everything was fine. They just sent me home on meds for gastritis. They also did an ultrasound of the baby which I was so grateful for, just for peace of mind.
Baby looked great and it was so nice to see him / her again but DH wasn't there (had to stay home with DD) so I had to ask them not to tell me the sex because it didn't seem fair. Now I'm going CRAZY because I should have asked them to write it down for us to look at later! I didn't even think of it Oh well - at least everything looked great and my anatomy scan is only 12 days away (but who's counting?!).

@AngelicOne: I failed the one hour with my first and passed the three hour. It wasn't fun, but you'll get through it. Sorry you have to go through it though.

@FaithFertility: @cram88: @sandy: @genarator: Thanks everyone. I'm just hoping I can distract myself from being hungry since I won't be able to eat until 11:30am (bringing something to munch on as soon as they're done)

@AngelicOne: And I'm the ray of sunshine, I failed the 1 hour and 3 hour in my first pregnancy. It was a blow to the ego and I thought the world might end Honestly, managing gestational diabetes isn't that bad once you are armed with a bit of education. It really helped keep me focused and I ended up gaining very little weight for the remainder of my pregnancy. After the initial shock wore off, it really was a blessing for helping to keep me healthy. That being said, I wanted cake after delivery

@winniebee: thanks for asking about my husband. He ended up back in hospital this week again as he thought the symptoms were getting worse. He had another day of tests and they have found out it is something called guilian barre. It's an auto immune virus. I'm trying hard not to google it as apparently it can make you paralysed!!! They said he should be fine as they found it early. He needs steroids we think but they are hopeful he should regain feelings soon. It's all been so stressful I just want it to be over now!
Anyway, it's lovely to start seeing some genders. So exciting. I literally can't wait now to find out. It's so exciting!

@mrslilac: So glad they figured it out! Hopefully, the steroids will work and he'll be feeling back to normal soon!
@angelicone: How did the 3 hour test go? I hate those things. The drink makes me nauseous.

@Mrs.Lilac: so stressful and scary! But I'm glad they figured out what's going on with him and he can be properly treated.

@mrsbookworm: I get to do it tomorrow morning, so wish me luck. The 1 hr test had me a little shaky, so hopefully this one isn't too bad. (making hubby come too just in case)
@Mrs.Lilac: Hope the steroids work & hubby feels better soon.

@angelicone: Good luck! Definitely bring a snack for as soon as you're done. Eating something made me feel better.

@Mrs.Lilac: thinking of you and your DH. So glad they have a diagnoses and plan for treatment!

@AngelicOne: @cram88: Ugh, sorry to hear about the 1 hour glucose test failures! How far along are you ladies?? My OB doesn't do the glucose test until around 28 weeks, so I won't be doing this for another 10+ weeks!! So surprised you ladies did it already!
@Mrs.Lilac: Oh wow!!! So scary about the virus your husband has but sooooo thankful you guys were proactive about it and they finally figured out what it was!!!! Hopefully now he'll be a-okay!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: Glad to hear you're okay & baby's okay!! Take care
@Mrs.Lilac: Oh my goodness, I'm sorry your DH is still not feeling well. Hopefully finding out the gender will bring some excitement!
I am having terrible ligament pains! I could barely sleep last night b/c I keep feeling all these tugging and painful-ish feelings all over my lower abdomen, and sometimes when I walk I get shooting pain in my hip
I'm also anemic (I already have an iron deficiency unrelated to pregnancy), so everyone's been asking me if I feel back to my normal self and I'm like, not really...
I feel like an old lady

Exciting to see some genders! Counting down until we find out, July 14th.
Has anyone been feeling baby move yet? I am almost 17 weeks and *think* I've been feeling baby move the past few days when I'm relaxing and paying enough attention. Can't wait until DH can start feeling baby too! So exciting.

I went to my appt on June 20 and I got to hear the heartbeat. It's always a little scary when they have to search for the heartbeat but it was there ... nice and strong! Hurray!
*** I have the anatomy scan on July 18 ***
Woohoo! Can't wait to see my baby again!

Thanks for all the kind comments ladies. It means a lot. I'm going back to hospital for my grandmother now. She has cancer and she is in a very bad way so I'm getting the train up and missing work tomorrow to go and say goodbye. Sorry to been all depressing on here. I'm just so sad I didn't get to tell her I'm pregnant. She isn't conscious now and I'm so mad at myself for not telling her a few weeks ago when I visited. I swear, it's one thing after another at the moment. I hate hospitals and I have spent far too much time there recently hopefully the next time will be for baby and nothing else.
Hope you are all feeling well. I'm really suffering with what I think is indigestion every time I eat. It is very uncomfortable and lasts for hours. I'm going to ask my midwife about it on Monday. Anyone else got this? What do you take? I'm just trying to think about feeling movement which I hope will happen now I'm 16 weeks?! Need something positive to think about!!!
