@Adira: I think I had to do it early due to being overweight and family history of diablo, so they wanted to catch it early if I do have it. I'm 16w3d as of today.

@Mrs.Lilac: So sorry that you and your family have been through so much lately. I'm glad to hear that your DH finally has a diagnosis - I hope everything gets better from here!
@snowjewelz: Sorry that you've been so uncomfortable I know what you mean about feeling like an old lady. I think I have some kind of complaint for DH every day! I hope you're feeling better soon!

@Mrs.Lilac: After my ER visit last week I started some medication for gastritis (irritation of the stomach). They put me on nexium and pepcid and recommended a low-acid diet. I hope to stop the meds after my stomach heals a little bit, but I'm definitely feeling better. Maybe you're going through something similar? Hope your midwife has some ideas!

@snowjewelz: I hear you! I think DH is afraid to ask me how I'm feeling each day

@josina: I'm 17 weeks today and it's the first day that I can say that I am definitely feeling baby move!! I've been sort of unsure the past 1.5 weeks but now I'm feeling lots of little thumps My OB said it's common to feel movement earlier the second time.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: That's so cool! I'm 17 weeks too, and I feel a lot going on down there but I have no idea what's what... A lot of it is just ligament pain, I think

I received a call from my doctor today, that my 3rd Panorama test was SUCCESSFUL. The covering nurse miscommunicated with me last week, unfortunately. She was able to tell me that my risks are all low and that we are definitely having a girl.
The unfortunate result is that I had another test done at MFM (Harmony) and will probably have to pay for both tests. That's a very costly (approx $1500) mistake for the staff to make at my doctor. I'll be curious to see how the billing issues all resolve. As of right now my doctor is trying to see if they can cancel the Harmony test. I pray she's successful. This is the scenario I was trying to avoid when I called her office to see if they had results... best laid plans..

@MamaG: Congratulations on your Panorama results and your ! So exciting!
That's horrible about the second test. I would hope that the Dr's office can cancel the test or help you with the billing since it was their mistake. Yikes!

@josina: I don't know if it's because this is my second, I can tell the difference between baby moving flurries and indigestion flurries! LOL I've actually been feeling them on and off for a while now.

@MamaG: Congratulations on your baby girl!!! But that's AWFUL that they told you it wasn't successful and you ended up doing another test because of it! I hope you don't have to pay for that!!!

@snowjewelz: I literally feel your pain I can't sit in my office chair or lay on my back in bed to watch tv for long without getting shooting pain. It also happens randomly when I run or make a sudden movement.
@mrsF @aegie @josina I think I might be nuts but this is my first and I definitely have been feeling little bumps and bubbles for a few days. It's really strange but also amazing. I am only 16.5 weeks but he has been measuring big all along and I am pretty petite. So maybe that's why so early?
@mamag congrats on your girl! My doctors also did a test twice and I keep waiting to get a giant bill in the mail that's a LOT of money for you to pay for their mistake!!!
@mrs.lilac sending positive thoughts to you and your family.
*****I'm behind on updates but I have my next Dr. Appoint on July 7 and my anatomy scan on July 23*******

@Mrs.Lilac: So sorry about your grandmother! My husband's uncle who he was really close to passed when I was 8 weeks so we also didn't get to tell him - really sad b/c DH promised to name our first born child after him, since he helped to get us together.
@MRSF @aegie @magnolia This is my first so maybe I'm crazy, but I definitely am noticing movement. I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow. Such a cool feeling though! I read that 16-18 weeks is when women might start to feel movement? And I'm also pretty petite.
My next appt/ U.S. / anatomy scan is moved up to July 11th! Dr is going to be out of town the 14th so I got it moved up instead of moved back. Excited!!

@mamag: Congrats on finally getting the results! I'm glad everything is low risk.
@angelicone: Hope the results come back ok. The 3 hour is not fun.
@mrslilac: I'm sorry about your grandmother

To all the mommies who had their blood work done at 16 weeks. Did anyone's results come back with elevated ratio for downs? My doctor recommended either the MaterniT21 or an Amnio. I opted for the MaterniT21 but I'm wondering if I should have just gone with the Amnio? anyone with experience with either?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aegie: I have my blood work tomorrow, so I'll let you know after that, though it'll probably be too late to help you. Sorry you have an elevated ratio. Hopefully the MaterniT21 gives you good results!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@aegie: Not with this pregnancy, but it did for LO. We choose CVS. Everything was fine. For this pregnancy, I got materniT21 just because I was freaked out, our NT came back low risk but I'm glad we did MaterniT21 regardless.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: So, your blood work is at a separate time than the US? For mine, they did both at the same time.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: I got what's called "Integrated Screening" or something. I had my u/s, then did blood work, and then have to go back 3-4 weeks later for more blood work!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Adira: Intersting.. that's not offered through my practice. Just the 2 part NT scan and then the anatomy scan at 20 weeks.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: I don't actually remember doing this last time around so I wonder if I accidentally signed up for more screening than I meant to, haha. Or if because I'm 30 now, they do something different?? I have no idea. Guess I'll hopefully find out when I get the results!
clementine / 806 posts
@Adira: I also had blood work done at 12 week NT scan in addition to the ultrasound. Then I had blood work done again at 16 weeks and the 20 week ultrasound scheduled 4 weeks later.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aegie: I think that's what I'm having. My NT scan with blood work was at 13w5d, then I have blood work tomorrow at 15w6d, and then the anatomy scan is scheduled for 19w1d.

Hey guys!! Sorry I've been MIA for a while. I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and when I had my nt scan everything came back great. Feeling really good except reflux which can be pretty horrible at times lol. Hope everyone has been doing well
**3 July for gender scan (my doctor offers this during my routine appointment so figured id take him up on the offer)
** 31 st July anatomy scan

@MrsF: that's interesting. I will definitely be asking my midwife next week. I can't google 'natural indigestion cure' enough! Lol
@MamaG: how rubbish about your test. Hope it gets resolved for you. Congrats on baby girl!! X
@josina: love the idea of naming baby after your uncle. I am going to ask my DH if I can use her name as our middle name. It's Elizabeth so a pretty name (if we have a girl that is).
Thanks again for kind words from you all. Annoyingly, DH was back in hospital yesterday and was told they had got diagnosis wrong and we are back to square one now! He is being admitted for more tests this week. It just goes on and on. Unfortunately he is at the other side of the country to my nana so I'm thinking about how to split my time between them. Not fun. Anyway, I'm not going to talk about this on here as I realise it is all very depressing.
@whenoceansrise: very cute bump!
I feel like a whale right now. My friend has a tiny bump and is also 16 weeks. Im triple her size which scares me! Let's see some more bump pics!!!
