Okay, a number of us are starting to find out sex. Any thoughts on names yet? Share your list even if you haven't narrowed it down to one yet.

@MamaG: thank you!!! what names are you thinking about for your little girl?
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@littlek: I'm a July mama just snooping in this December thread but I have to say Darcy is adorable! I love it.

I have a short list, but DH and I really haven't talked names yet.
Sadie
Parker
Raeven

If it's a girl, it's gonna be Kara.
If it's a boy, it's TBD... Current contender is Elias.

@littlek: I love it. Evelyn is on our short list too.

We haven't started talking names yet! We won't find out sex for another month until our anatomy scan.

Not even attempting to narrow down a list until we know the gender....3 more weeks at the latest hopefully.
Cute names so far....

@littlek: Seriously SO cute. I have a friend named Darcy and she is one of my favorite people!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@littlek: love it! My LO's middle name is Evelyn...it was a front runner for her first name for awhile there
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@winniebee: @littlek: Evelyn is on our list too! It's a family name. And I love the name Darcy
We have a few options for both boy and girl right now, although we are more firm on boy names. We won't find out until the end of July (UGH!), so we're not too stressed about narrowing things down yet
Sadly, we tend towards the more classic names, which are really becoming popular right now. So, we'll see how we feel in another few months!
nectarine / 2834 posts
@theotherstark: I agree! I've always loved the classic names. And it's definitely bothering me that they're rising in popularity now!

@Tidybee: Several of our favorite names from before we even got engaged are now in the top ten (both boys and girls), so we have had to rethink our lists It's frustrating! But I like to think it means I have good taste in names??
pear / 1895 posts
@Tidybee: @theotherstark: Yep, my son's name is Elijah (Eli), named after his grandfather. I don't regret choosing the name, necessarily, but there are SO MANY Eli's! I've met at least 5 here in my town, and we don't really know that many people. It sucks.
If it's a girl, she will be Nora Fair (after my grandmother and husband's grandfather). I LOVE that name, so I really hope I get to use it!
For a boy, we're less decided. Husband's middle name is Walter, and I like the idea of naming a boy Walter and calling him Walt. But I just can't seem to be satisfied with that. I also like Owen. Maybe Owen Walter? Not sure.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@allison: I love the name Nora, and I feel like I usually see it spelled with an h, so it's a bit different too. And I have a coworker who named her son Walter!! Such a great name.

@littlek: That name is soooo pretty!!! Love it!!!
@MamaG: I love all those options! But I'm definitely partial to Raevan - something about it is just so pretty to me!
@snowjewelz: Love Kara!! That was on our list last time around!
@allison: I love Nora! And I'm biased, but I like Owen, but that's because I have a cool cousin named Owen!
We haven't really talked names this time around yet. But last time, our girl name was Kaelyn, so we may still use that. Although Hubs recently said he liked Zoey. And for a boy, our second choice last time was Logan, so we might go with that this time, but again, we haven't really discussed it yet!

@littlek: so pretty!
I am just dying to know if this little person is a girl or a boy! We are still mixing first and middles names, my husband is so picky lol!
persimmon / 1168 posts
I love everyone's names!! We only have one we've been able to agree on so far because we are both picky. But I don't think I'm ready to share yet....
@snowjewelz did you find out sex yet
nectarine / 2053 posts
I love everyone's names! I feel like choosing a name is going to be a rather difficult task for us. I can't find ANY that I want to use. So frustrating!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@magnolia: Yes, so annoying, but kinda funny at the same time. I really need to know if we need to ramp up the boy names!
@whenoceansrise: It's okay, there's time! My friend just had her 2nd and at birth his name was still TBD

Thoughts on the name Desirae? I can't decide if its too sugary sweet or stripper-ish. DH likes it and I do think it's unique without being something that is hard to pronounce.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@MamaG: I don't think it's stripper-ish! I actually had a co-worker named Desiree (pronounced the same, I believe, as your above spelling: Des-ih-ray). It sounded unusual to me at first, but I love it! And I also have a somewhat unusual name for a girl, so I'm not one to judge
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: I think the name is pretty but have you thought of "ree" instead of the "Rae" spelling at the end?
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: Actually I was a little surprised to see that the common spelling is 'ree instead of 'rae.
We seem to be leaning toward the following:
Sadie Leigh
Sadie Bella (or Sadie Belle)
Parker Leigh
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@magnolia: So we found out this morning that we're having a so she's gonna be Kara I'm opting for no middle name but DH said she should have one (we both don't have middle names, it's technically our Chinese names but we don't use it)
@MamaG: I like it! And I kinda like the diff spelling for a new spin! Sadie Leigh totally goes and so cute!
persimmon / 1168 posts
@snowjewelz: yay for your girl!!! Of course I am biased bc it's my mom's name but I love it. Dumb question, it's pronounced Kar-ah? Versus Care-ah?
I am don't have a middle name but I think my SO wants bb to have one.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@magnolia: We're going with Care-ah. Very cool that it's your mom's name! We chose it b/c it means joy in Greek and I don't know anyone named Kara so it's good for me haha (I'm so picky, I don't like to use any name that I associate with anyone I already know!)
Yeah, I need to work on that middle name!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: I really like Parker! I also like Sadie Leigh!
@snowjewelz: Love Kara! That was on our list too! Hubs LOVES that name. And I definitely like your pronunciation the best.
We still haven't even really talked about names. I think we still like Logan for a boy, but we haven't really discussed it. And we liked Kaelyn for a girl, though Hubs recently said he likes Zoey. Guess we'll figure it out once we know the sex!
