December due dates?

This is my third and I still get anxious over when the baby will come. I am not sure that gets easier with each pregnancy at all. As far as contractions go-I know everyone says it, but when you are in labor you will know-it won't stop:)

Being due on Christmas adds so much extra stress. I have been shopping and wrapping the past two days trying to get everything ready. And people keep asking about making holiday plans. I am not sure what more I can say other than "Pick what works for everyone else, we can't guarantee that we will make it this year".

This weekend we moved DD#2 into the same room as #1. The first night in her new bed she puked in (and was up all night puking). It was heartbreaking to puke and dry heave for hours.
see her puke and dry heave for hours.

And on top of this all I am pretty sure that baby is no longer head down. I am so uncomfortable the way he/she is laying. This week has been my breaking point.

The good news ladies is that we are in the final stretch.

We are all getting close! I am 38 weeks tomorrow! I hopped on the bandwagon and purchased evening primrose oil from my doctor's office but I am not going to start taking it or using it until the weekend because I really want to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. Ha, how weird am I? I just love to eat.

Had my first NST test today and baby was moving around like crazy! Also had it confirmed for like the fourth time that it's a girl, thank goodness, I am finally reassured. I was worried about what to do with all the girly items and clothes we got if it turned out to be a boy. I am starting to get much more nervous and excited.... just waiting and waiting for my life to change 100%.

@mrsmenow: Oh no! Hope you're wrong about baby being head down, or that baby moves soon!
@gracecat: Glad to hear the NST went well.

Had my 37week checkup today. 1cm dilated and slightly thinned. Negative for strep b. Just in the "watch and wait" group now.

Well, I had quite the fun last night. I ended up with either food poising or a nasty virus which lead to an evening of losing bodily fluids like crazy. I swear I threw up more than my stomach could possibly hold. Every time I took the smallest sip of water I was throwing up way more than I took in. After 4 hours I decided to play on the safe side and go to the ER where I was admitted to L&D (but with the knowledge that I would be sent home and not actually have the baby). Baby was doing great and I was having some contractions. I was on an IV all night to hydrate and get meds for the vomiting and diarrhea (which was pretty much liquid). I felt a lot better this morning, but got no sleep in those crummy beds and with an IV in me. When they monitored me again this morning I was still having contractions, but I couldn't feel them anymore. I was discharged after 12 hours and a prescription from my doc. Man, I am not excited about seeing that bill in the mail. At least baby is good and safe. I hope not to see those rooms again until baby is on her way out.

@rawrasaur: Wow that sounds awful! So sorry. Do you have any idea what you may have eaten to prompt that?
Glad you were able to get some fluids in you at the hospital.

@travelingbrit: well it started after I at Pei Wei, but I would hate for it to be that because that is one of the few places I will eat at. The leftovers are for sure going in the trash though.

@rawrasaur: Oh no! I'm sorry you had such a crummy night. Glad you're feeling better and baby's fine.

Had my 38 wk checkup today (38w2d). Still not dilated at all, though apparently all this cramping/BH has helped with effacement. I'd still like to make it to December though. As much as I want to meet the LO, I've still got stuff to do to get ready!

TODAY WAS MY LAST DAY OF WORK!

You guys- the Nov mamas are making me get so excited bc WE'RE NEXT! My DH came home last night from offshore, he's been gone 3.5 weeks so I finished my last day of work and am excited for this last week and a half with him before baby comes! I actually quit the EPO bc I realized that we have some last minute things to do for baby and I'm looking forward to spending all next week- just he & I being excited about her arrival... So I'm not going to try to force her out or stress about it. Dec 2nd is perfect and DH and I will have a fun week and then we'll cap it off with having a baby girl!

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and eat a ton of good food!!!!

@rawrasaur: yuck sorry you had to go through all that! I have had two rounds of food poisoning this pregnancy but not as bad as yours. I think our immune systems must be down because I normally don't get sick so often. Stay hydrated!

@rattles: we are only a day or two apart! I want to get through this weekend but I am all game if she wants to make an appearance starting from Monday. No big plans, I am pretty impatient and ready to meet her. Of course I have no idea what I am in for but that's just my excitement talking.

Evelyn Michelle was born on thanksgiving!! She was 6lb 7oz 19 inches! A quick run through of what happened - my water broke around 445am although I wasn't sure it was it till it started gushing out at 6am. Contractions started at 630am abt 2-3 min apart for 30 s. We got to the hospital at 7am. I was checked at 8am and was 4cm 90% effaced. The rest was pretty textbook. 1cm per hour after. Got my epi at 9am (loved it!). 10cm at 1pm. Started pushing at 1pm and the baby was born at 3:23pm! The epi wasn't as scary as I thought. The iv needle hurt alot more! Breastfeeding has been interesting.. Don't think my latch is totally there but we're working on it! Hope everyone else is doing well! Here's a pic of our sleepy girl!

Happy last November Sunday, December Mamas!

Nothing to report here, just hanging out with DH waiting for next Sun's induction... I'm so excited that tomorrow is Monday and I'm not going to work!

My dr said that Harper is really low, around a -1 or -2 station, so hopefully she'll be ready to come out when they start my pitocin....HOWEVER, I made the mistake of showing this photo to DH so he can see where her head is and told him the dr could feel where her head was, and now he is basically horrified at the thought of having sex and putting his penis "right where my daughter's head is..." So it doesn't look like we're going to be having sex as a means to starting labor, lol... And honestly, it's the last thing I want to do anyway:)

Ugh, today was the first day I felt really really uncomfortable consistently all day. I was at a big box warehouse store and felt pain in my belly and then felt faint once I got home, among other discomforts. At 38 weeks and 3 days, I think it is officially time for me to slow it down and take it really easy. The last place I want to be when my water breaks or I feel labor starting is in a crowded busy loud market by myself. I just want to go to sleep one night, wake up and have my daughter next to me on the outside!

We got a few more random baby errands done today. Got batteries for the swing and bouncer, packed the hospital bag some more, ordered some baby gear, etc....

How is everyone else feeling is week? Did you all buy any baby things at some good black Friday sales?

  34. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@gracecat: I agree with you on the slowing down! I went to the gym yesterday and once earlier in the week and even though I went at a grandma's pace, I couldn't finish and was so wiped out after about 40 minutes total that I came home & slept 3 hours. DH said he thinks I need to relax from here on out, it's time to prepare for the fact that she could come at any time and I need to be as rested as possible.

I didn't really have anything to buy for Black Friday, but I still don't have nursing bras and have been trying to find deals on them!

What did you guys end up doing for nursing bras? A lot of the ladies on here say not to spend a lot of money on nursing bras until your milk comes in, so I have procrastinated but I need to get something in the next few days!

You know what I was wondering? What happened to Cyneswith? The Dec mama who started this thread? I hope she's okay! I don't think she' s posted in a long long time!

  36. gracecat

    clementine / 878 posts

@PrincessBaby: I found some good deals at Target, they have a version of the Bravado line of nursing bras and tanks. I also splurged on a couple of bras at Destination Maternity. As for size I just got them in one or two cup sizes bigger than I am now. hopefully that will be okay. Also I would like to add that I can't believe you were still going to the gym!

  37. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@gracecat: Thank you- I will check at Target! I didn't know they had a Bravado line... I have only been going to the gym 2 or 3x a week the past few weeks and I'm super duper slow. I pretty much just do the elliptical at an easy pace and watch tv on it, then I'll do some light weights for 15 or 20 minutes...Yesterday after the elliptical I felt like I was going to pass out- literally. I have gained 29 lbs and don't want to gain anymore but it's honestly too much this late in the game!

  38. rawrasaur

    pear / 1769 posts

@PrincessBaby: I wonder what happened to her as well! I think there are a couple of other ones that dropped off, too. I hope everything is still well with them all.

  39. rattles

    grapefruit / 4903 posts

@PrincessBaby: I went ahead and bought 2 nursing bras (one Bravado Bliss and one Bravado Sublime) and 1 nursing tank (Glamourmom full bust long top) to get me started. I'm planning to revisit the shop a few weeks postpartum once things have kind of evened out to actually stock up. Being the size I am, I knew I'd need more careful fit/support than the cheaper options would give, and these felt great already. Even my bigger bras from pregnancy were starting to dig in, so I'm already wearing the new ones.

  40. rattles

    grapefruit / 4903 posts

@gracecat: This is exactly how I'm feeling and what I'm up to these days. Last minute errands for things I'll want to be stocked up on or know I'll need, a sudden compulsion to clean the windows and bathtub and other ridiculous chores, and then total exhaustion. I didn't buy much on Black Friday, though I did hit up Janie & Jack's sale for a Christmas outfit (one for a boy and one for a girl, since we still don't know).
