December due dates?

@rattles: @gracecat: Do you guys mind helping me figure out sizing? I was a 34C prepreg, and moved up to a 36D by around 4 or 5 months and have stayed the same. Should I buy bras in 36D, or go to like prepreg 34 with a bigger cup, like a DD? I don't know what I'm doing!

@PrincessBaby: My boobs are the bane of my existence I wore a 32F pre-pregnancy, and I went up to 32G or 34F during pregnancy, starting around June. Over the last couple of weeks, they seemed to cut into the top of my bump, but I think that was my tummy more than chest changing in size. I went to a specialty store to get their input for nursing bras, and the ones I got are a (terrifying) 34H/I (they came in F/G or H/I, and I already totally filled out F/G, so I sized up). They're a little roomy in the cup now but not huge. Like I said though, I'm assuming I'll have to revisit/resize once my body settles down. The tanks I bought are the full bust style but in a size small.

@PrincessBaby: hmmm... This might be a question for the more experienced moms. My breasts only increased one cup size from pre-pregnancy to now. So I just bought bras inmy current pregnancy size but in one and two cups larger. So in your case, maybe you can just buy one or two in your current size 36 but go up a cup or maybe even 2, since I hear when your milk comes in your boobs will get even bigger and engorged before they calm down. Then you can buy some more bras once you have breast feeding down and have a better idea of your longer term size.... I haven't gone through this before though so I am kind of in the same boat as you.

Ugh I still haven't bought nursing bras yet nor have any idea how to start!

I feel super uncomfortable too. Kicking myself that I agreed to work ths week, but it is my last week....

    persimmon / 1479 posts

@travelingbrit: I only bought one to have at the hospital with me and then some breast pads in case I leak before I get another one. With my girls I only had a couple of days where I was really engorged and then they kind of settle into a regular size. So I figure that one will hold me over until then.

@mrsmenow: yeah I bought breast pads. I guess I'll wait to buy the bras until things settle...maybe buy one online beforehand.

@PrincessBaby: @highwire: I read what you posted in November about people wanting you to go out! That's driving me crazy. We keep getting invited everywhere and everyone's like "but you haven't had the baby yet". No, and I just want to stay home. what's worse is SO agrees with them. I got dragged to a potluck today and was there for like 4 hours and was so uncomfortable. Now I'm being pressured to go to SIL's birthday BBQ next sat if I'm still preggo. Trying to put my foot down on that one.

@travelingbrit: I am so hoping I go early just to get out of a family birthday party. Who really needs to do a birthday party for an adult 2 weeks before Christmas? And do I really need to go when I just saw these people for a birthday dinner for another relative 2 weeks ago. It is an hour and a hlaf away, just what I want to do when I am that pregnant and probably needing to get Christmas stuff wrapped up for our older girls. It is DH's family though so I jsut smile and go along with whatever he decides:/

  9. wheres_c

    pomelo / 5789 posts

@mrsmenow: yes! I don't get the whole adult birthday party things. SO has a huge family and it seems like there is always an "event" to go to. Most of the time I shut up and go, but this is 12 days before my due date! My birthday is 4 days before my due date and the best gift would be some peace and quiet but no, FIL flys in from Peru that day.

@travelingbrit: I'm feeling the opposite. While I'm not comfy out and about, at least it's a distraction from the waiting. At this point I'm not comfy at home either, so I'm enjoying seeing friends before my self-imposed baby lockdown the first weeks. I'm definitely unapologetic about sitting/doing whatever I want and wearing yoga pants though, ha.

@rattles: makes sense too. I wish I had more yoga pants!

@travelingbrit: I'm already done with work though, or I think I'd feel like you. I'm impressed you're hanging in there and hope the week flies by for you!

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@gracecat: @rattles: Thanks you guys! I went to target and got a couple of bras-I don't love them bc they make me look kind of weird-shaped, but they're comfy and will do fine until my milk comes in and I see what's going on with my size!

@travelingbrit: omg YES! I know people mean well and their train of thought is "Well once the baby is here, you won't be able to hang out for a while, so wouldn't it be FUN if we could do it now, RIGHT before you're due?" Um NO, it's not fun! I am in nesting mode and just want to relax and be left alone. Maybe I'll feel more gracious on the topic once I've had a few days of not working but it agitates me now! DH has an identical twin that lives downtown w/his GF, and they want us to drive out to their place for dinner on Wed as a celebration of H coming into the world...I get it and that's sweet, but if you want to honor H's arrival into the world, you two have dinner downtown and toast to her, and my 39 weeks pregnant ass will stay at my peaceful quiet home in the Burbs in my PJs!!! Going out is not fun!

Ladies the last of the November mamas just checked in for induction. That means we are up, aaaahhh!

I had my 36 week appointment. I was 0 cm dialated, and 50 % effeced, head down. Doctor said very soft. Only up 1 lb from 2 weeks ago, but I am feeling so huge. I was not this uncomfortable with my DDs.

@mrsmenow: eeeeexciting!! I have my 36 week 2 day appt tomorrow. 2 weeks ago I was up 29 lbs. I've been eating like a cow and we just had thanksgiving so I'm anticipating a 5lb gain at least. I feel a lot huger this time around than last .. Gained more last time, but my belly is ginormous.

    pomelo / 5789 posts

@mrsmenow: I just read that and was coming to post the same thing!!!!
    ARGH! So nervous!

I was 1cm and "soft" at my 37 week appointment last Wed. I'm hoping that I have made some progress by Thursday's appointment.

Wednesday is a FULL MOON! I am betting at least one of us gets things going a little early this Wednesday.

    Full moons FTW!

How's everyone feeling? Is anyone else getting some pre-labor action? Apparently I've been getting BH contractions and didn't even realize it! I just thought it was the baby pushing his/her little backside out and making my stomach firm...doi.

I've also been monitoring baby's position like a crazy person. Baby is LOA and seems to be engaging/engaged. Meeting with my midwife tomorrow, hope she says as much! (If you haven't tried it yet, belly mapping can be fun: http://www.spinningbabies.com/baby-positions/belly-mapping )

I haven't had any BH, or any cramping, or ANYTHING. No mucus plug, no bloody show...Nada....

And my appt isn't until Friday, which is only 2 days before my scheduled induction. So it's really looking like Dec 2nd I'll be going in and starting the Cervadil....I was really hoping to avoid induction, but whatevs.

The only thing new that I've had is that H is either punching or headbutting me in the vagina. It hurts SO BAD coming from the inside. I would much rather someone headbutt or punch me in the vagina from the outside. It's like a burning pressure- a searing pain right THERE in the vag. It is so painful!

She does it to my bladder too, but the vagina is just a little too much!

Hi everyone! I am 37 weeks and 2 days today. This morning, the OB told me my cervix is totally closed - which is fine with me because I'm having such a little baby and I'd like her to bake for longer.

I have eight days left of work and my nesting instinct is starting to kick in at home. We got a dresser and some storage cubes over the weekend, so I'm doing laundry and putting things away, which makes me feel super productive even as I'm putting off other chores like cleaning the fridge/freezer (need to get rid of scary ancient leftovers so to make room for freezer meals!).

I'm having SO MANY bh contractions (39 weeks today), but I'm still not dilated at all. Hubs is convinced I'm going early since I'm constantly uncomfy and contracting, but my gut says I'm not that lucky...I hope someone goes with the full moon!

  23. wheres_c

    pomelo / 5789 posts

@Minnie_Girl: @rattles: I never though I had BH contractions, but I keep wondering if the "baby pushing out" feelings I have are actually BH contractions. I dunno.

I am feeling a general crampy, tight, squeezing sort of sensation, especially at night. I don't know if that's considered "contractions" either.

People have been telling me I will know them when I feel them. I havent felt anything super-obvious at this point.

@PrincessBaby: Hopefully something starts happening for you before Friday's appointment.
Are you giving birth in CS? I'm going to be giving birth in HW, but live in BR. Dreading a 45+ minute drive in labor!

  25. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@travelingbrit: Yes, @ CS Medical....That is a long drive to go from BR to HW! But you'd be fine though:) I'm feeling like H is not coming early. I have walked and elliptical trainered myself lots these past few days, & not even a cramp. I've never even had a BH. Other than her moving around, just as happy as can be in there, there's zilch happening. Here's to the full moon pushing some Dec babies out early!!!

@travelingbrit: I think that could be BH, though like you I hear I'll know when it's the real deal.
@PrincessBaby: Even if Harper hangs in there until your induction, you could be up next! So exciting!

Just got out of my 38 week appointment. 1-2 cm, soft, and 60% effacement. My doctor delivered a baby today to a FTM who was due a few days after me - jealous.

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@rawrasaur: yay for progress! Getting closer!!!!!! Very exciting!

DH and I did the deed last night. It wasn't fun and it didn't feel good to me (It made me crampy the whole time!) but it was all about Get Harper Out. Not lusty sexy times. I woke up in the middle of the night with what I swore was a real contraction- I've never felt that before! And I thought- "This is it!" But then nothing after that.....Waaaaaaahhhhh:(

  29. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

Oh and is anyone else taking their impatience & anxiety out on their credit card? I was doing so well with being DONE bc H has so much crap- especially stuff like clothes. But in the past few days with all the online deals, I've went nuts again! Things keep coming in the mail and DH is totally giving me the Stink Eye every time a package shows up...

I had bought H pink Uggs for fun, but the smallest size is HUGE so I ordered her these super tiny Uggs yesterday from Zappos and they're going to be delivered today...I'm so excited!

ETA:This is ridiculous bc we live in South FL. It gets cold for about 8 minutes a year, but I couldn't help myself!

@PrincessBaby: I surf online every day for stuff to buy. So far I've been able to hold back on infant shoes but I have a kind of wish list of shoes I just LOVE. Here are just 3 of them.

The first two are white Stuart Weitzmans: http://www.amazon.com/Stuart-Weitzman-Layette-Infant-Toddler/dp/B0055QQN5K/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2HGCUBBVX6BIH&coliid=I2YUMZKQ99X4TJ

And the obligatory light pink Uggs (which could actually be useful if her feet were going to be big enough this winter, but they won't be...)
    http://www.amazon.com/UGG-Australia-Erin/dp/B005TRFPAO/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2HGCUBBVX6BIH&coliid=I1F0IDIXCZUONE

I am REALLY trying to control myself now that I already have a closet full of cute stuff.

  31. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@gracecat: OMG LOVE THE WEITZMANS!!!!!! The pink Ugg Erin's are what I bought H, but even the Small is huge, so I am going to send them back bc it looks like from reading reviews that they fit a 6 month old, and it will be May/June in FL when she hits that size, so we definitely won't be wearing Uggs then:).

Self-control is so hard! I need her to get here so I'll be too consumed w/her to buy any more stuff!!!

Just had my group b test and ob checked my cervix.
3 cm dilated and 75% effaced..

@chopsuey119: Wow that sounds really promising!

Does anyone else feel like movements have slowed down a little? I'm debating whether to be worried or not. Doc says as long as I feel 10 movements I'm fine - and I have felt 10. He's just really quiet in there today.

@travelingbrit: I'd love for him to stay in for as long as possible though!

Movements have slowed down a little for me.. I think he's getting cramped in there

I am at 35w2d and have been having lots of BH's. I have recently started waking up in the middle of the night but just once a night so far. Our induction is set for December 22 but we have an appt on Dec 5 to do another growth ultrasound and so it may be moved up. It definitely won't be after the 22nd! I can't wait to meet our little girl. Oh, and I should be done with work around the end of next week, first part of week following.

  37. mrsmenow

    persimmon / 1479 posts

@MaisyMay: Are you being induced because of their concern about babies size?

@chopsuey119: Holy smokes mama, that is some great progress.

I am off to bed. I worked a really busy 12 hour shift last night and then had to stay for a meeting afterwards that went for 3 hours. Way too long of a shift, but my cervix seriously hurts from carrying this baby around for so long last night hopefully it will do some good:)
