We Lost the baby.
My dr is on vacation, and his backup doesn't do D&Cs. I have to wait to call and hope that they can find another backup that will squeeze me in immediately.
We're completely devastated and I'm not sure how well go on.
H&H 9 months to you all.

@saboma: @ms.line: @ladybee: @TemperanceBrennan: @californiadreams: @fancyfunction: @kiddosc: @misolee: @NeonPink1234: thank you all for the kind words and support.
We ended up having the D&C last night. The ER nurse and on call OB took pity on me, thankfully. I was a bawling mess the whole time so I think they could see how fragile my emotional state was, even if it wasn't an immediate medical necessity.
I'm home now and resting. Cramping a lot, but not as much as I expected.
We were so close to being out of the danger zone, and had already seen a heartbeat... It just seems unfathomable...
I wish all of you the best of luck and a healthy and easy next 6/7 months. I'll be hiding this board for awhile, I hope you understand.

@Crystal: my D&C recovery was pretty easy and was a blessing for my mental state. I very much understand hiding this board. Please take care of yourself.

@ladybee: I'm really glad to hear it was easy, I hope I have the same experience. I appreciate your compassion. ️

@TemperanceBrennan: well today is kind of a rough day. I'm feeling super emotional and having sad thoughts that I'm too embarrassed to share here. I'm sure everything's fine, but I should probably call my midwife to just feel better.
I'm also still very sad for Crystal, and have been thinking a lot about her. I feel weird talking about her in the 3rd person, though I hope for her that she's not still checking in here. But I was sad over the weekend not to have this community, but also wanted to allow enough time to pass before posting. So thanks, @TemperanceBrennan for getting the conversation started again.
One fun/happy thing is that I totally popped over last weekend! Is anyone else really starting to show? I can't believe it!

@TemperanceBrennan: I had my 14 week appointment and HB was great! I'm back to work and my son is back to daycare so it's been hard so far. Luckily students don't come until Monday. How are you doing?
@saboma: I've had a hard time thinking about it too. My anxiety is pretty bad this pregnancy and all I can keep thinking is I could lose this baby at any point. It makes me crazy because I have no control over it. This is my second, so I've looked pregnant for awhile.

@TemperanceBrennan: thanks for getting this thread going again. i was really sad about Crystal too and almost posted a few times in the past couple of days, but felt weird doing so. But then i was also sad that this thread seemed to have stopped being active, so i am glad you got it going again :). How are you doing?
@ladybee: yay for a great HB, that is always a good thing
@saboma: what an adorable bump! i am really starting to pop too, but it still depends a bit on what i wear as to whether you can really tell.
I am doing good, nothing exciting to report...except that i am planning to tell my manager this afternoon that i am pregnant and i am still nervous about it. I am sure it will go fine though, i just want to get it over with.
I am thinking of signing up for prenatal yoga classes. Is anyone doing anything like that? I did it with my last pregnancy and really enjoyed it, especially near the end.

@californiadreams: Good luck! I just announced at work yesterday and it went really well. My boss was super excited for me and gave me a hug. I have been doing prenatal yoga videos from Yoga With Adriene so far - I might consider taking a public class down the road, but I have weird performance anxiety.
Speaking of anxiety, I've been a wreck. Crystal's m/c plus my PAPP-A lab results sent me over the edge - I spent most of Friday night and Saturday morning crying. I'm still feeling "off" and impatient for my midwife appointment next week. Libbylou and Crystal both got their BFPs with me in the 6+ months TTC group - I feel guilty that I'm the only one of us still pregnant, and simultaneously convinced that something bad will happen to me soon, too.
On a lighter note, I'm not showing at all yet. Can't wait until I have a cute bump like yours, @saboma!

I'm happy people are jumping back in. I feel like as people in this thread have had losses, it seems callous to then talk about how the rest of us are doing, but like @saboma: said, hopefully they are taking their time away from this board (so happy hiding boards is an option). It was quite (understandable so as we all process what happened to Crystal), but I was truly interested to see how everyone else was doing as well.
I'm doing pretty well. Still waiting on NT results, should get the soon, but since the ultrasound went well I'm trying to not stress out about it. I was pretty busy with work last week but a big project FINALLY wrapped up, so I'm enjoying the lighter load and less stress. We have a lot of vacations lined up back-to-back at the end of this month which should be fun, but it will be a lot of traveling. I'm trying to relax while I can. DH is out of town and we just got rid of cable, so I'm trying to get things done around the house.
@saboma: I understand having those kind of thoughts. I think it is natural. Hopefully your midwife can reassure you and those thoughts will pass. You and your bump are adorable! I'm jealous!
@ladybee: So happy your appointment went well! Hopefully the school year starts smoothly for you!
@californiadreams: I did hot yoga regularly up until I got my BFP. I just started going to prenatal and mild (not hot) slow flow and I'm really enjoying it. A lot depends on the teacher - I feel stronger, more flexible, and more centered/relaxed but I'm not sure how much it will help with actual labor. Good luck talking to your manager!
@ms.line: I'm sure that is a tough spot to be in - happy you are pregnant, but grieving for Crystal and Libbylou. I can't imagine the anxiety you must be feeling. I hope the time flies by.
I'm not showing at all. Can't wait to have a bump now that most people (expect work) know.

@ms.line: did you call and ask anyone about your results? I've been thinking of you!

Not much new to share, I've been showing for weeks now! No denying that I'm pregnant, I felt the baby move last night it wasn't much but it was undeniable. We are moving in less then 2 weeks so life has been crazy with a 2 year and trying to pack and relax as much as possible. I have my next midwife appointment next Wednesday so I should get my ultrasound date after that to find out the gender, I bought a Doppler on the weekend so I've been listening to the heart beat quite a bit so I'm feeling more relaxed now.
I'm looking forward to settling in once we move and starting to buy some of the baby stuff. And to start decorating the nursery

@ladybee: Thanks! I emailed my midwife and she basically responded like I was nuts. Since my screen was negative and it seems they don't consider PAPP-A as an independent value, she doesn't recommend any more testing or screening. I am going to broach the issue with her again during my next appointment - I'm not *looking* for a problem, but I also want to ensure that I'll be getting adequate monitoring to catch potential issues. I'm trying to console myself with the fact that tons of women never even know their PAPP-A values and still have perfectly healthy pregnancies.
@TemperanceBrennan: Thanks for the kind words!
pear / 1998 posts
@ms.line: I think for this reason exactly, my practice doesn't release the results of the screening to our online patient portal.
It's impossible to forget and worry once you know but once you follow up at your next appointment hopefully she can explain why she isn't concerned and you can try to forget the numbers.

Is everyone enjoying just one long thread? Anyone interested in a bump or nursery thread?
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@ms.line: is there any OB at your practice? Hopefully your midwife hears you out. Worse case, bring it up at your 20 week scan and see what the MFM doctor says.

@TemperanceBrennan: I like the idea of separate threads! I can't wait to find out the gender so I can start working on a nursery.
cherry / 105 posts
@TemperanceBrennan: I'm notoriously bad at keeping up with multiple threads, but I do think it's a good idea to separate them, so I say go for it! I'll just try harder...
pomegranate / 3411 posts
@TemperanceBrennan: i've always wanted to try hot yoga! i bought 2 groupons for it a few years ago and had like 12 sessions included.....and then i found out i was pregnant before i could start them! and then breastfed for 2 years. After that, i just kind of forgot about it! Perhaps in another couple of years, i will finally do it!
I also like the idea of multiple threads! I think it is time to start a bump thread
@ms.line: more hugs and support and i can totally understand why you would be stressed given everything. another thing to remember is that regardless of statistics, you are an individual case and anyone else's experience really has no bearing on what yours will be. It sounds like you are having a healthy pregnancy so far and will continue that way
@mrskrumpet: that's so cool that you felt the baby move!

i told my manager today! it went really well and now i don't feel like i have to hide it from the rest of my coworkers anymore! so that is a huge relief. I got teary eyed while i was telling her, those damn hormones. I think i was more nervous to tell her than i realized and it was such a relief when she had a such a positive reaction.
pear / 1770 posts
@TemperanceBrennan: I know, I wish I could un-see my report!
@ladybee: No OB, but I will definitely get a second opinion elsewhere if I'm not satisfied with their response.
@californiadreams: Thanks for the hugs and support! So glad your manager was excited for you!

Just started a bump and nursery thread. I expect them to be a little slow for a while, but it will be nice to have them.

hi everyone - sorry i'm so bad at updating on the blog! I love reading everyone's updates though Is anyone else having bad round liagment pain?? OMG my groin area feels like I just wrestled with the thigh master; it's horrible! I went for my morning run today and I think I'm paying for it now.
As for yoga - I am going to start doing prenatal this week. Really looking forward to stretching and getting some deep breathing in
Besides exhaustion and some groin pain! I have been feeling good. We find out the sex on September 17th. I have had some crazy dreams about this baby being a boy and have felt it is a boy since finding out I was pregnant. We shall see if my intuition is right!
Hope your all feeling well, happy Wednesday

Good to hear how all you ladies are doing! Yay for being done with or almost bing done with first trimester!
So if you're in your second now-is your naseau subsiding? Mine kind of is but still not all gone...

@TemperanceBrennan: Thanks!
@Bella214: I have round ligament pain on and off - I worked out late yesterday evening and then it bugged me all night!

Hi ladies! Glad to hear things are going well. Just got back from our NT scan and 12 wk appt and everything looked great. We got to see baby boy moving around and waving at us, so that was fun. I think my nausea is finally starting to subside so I'm really happy about that! Still no real bump to speak of but the tech said I shouldn't be complaining
pomegranate / 3411 posts
@Bella214: i haven't had round ligament pain, hope yours gets better soon!
@mrs.kiwi: i never had bad nausea, but now any that i had does seem to have gone away completely!
@fancyfunction: yay for a great NT scan!

Has anyone started wearing maternity clothes yet? I haven't because I have some dresses that still work, but i feel like my wardrobe has shrank so I just picked up some maternity clothes from a friend that I am going to go through this weekend.
I have a bunch of Fall clothes from last pregnancy that I guess i will really by next month!
grapefruit / 4085 posts
@californiadreams: thanks!
I wore maternity leggings the other day and they were so comfy! I only have 2 maternity tops, all the others are long, flowey shirts I've been finding. I have a few pairs of jeans and want to get 1-2 more leggings. I think my uniform is going to be pants, long top, open cardigan
