@fancyfunction: i had leggings for my last pregnancy and only 1 long sweater that went with them. If i buy new pieces this time around, it will definitely be in that category!

@californiadreams: I have gotten 2 pairs of jeans, some dress pants for work, and a few shirts. I also have managed to find long, stretchy, non-maternity shirts that I think will work for a while. I'm also all about the comfort now! I think I'm going to look for a few more skirts that can work both for the end of summer and with tights for fall and winter.

Anyone else not showing at all really? My DH and I can tell but I fit in all my clothes, even waistbands (except really tight ones). I'm not humblebragging I feel like bump (baby??) just hasn't grown. I don't have a heartbeat check til next Friday
I'm probably borrowing trouble but at 16 weeks i thought I'd be growing weekly.

@pachamama: I wouldn't worry about it, you're a FTM. I'm still wearing regular jeans and a t-shirt today, and I don't look pregnant at all. If you Google Image Search pictures of women at 16 weeks, you'll see such a wide range of shapes and sizes! Some FTMs don't start showing until 20 weeks or later.

@pachamama: I'm not showing at all, but I've had two ultrasounds and both times baby measured perfectly on track. Like Ms. Line said, you're a FTM and everyone's body is different. My ob said try not to compare your bump to anyone else's and don't listen to anyone that says you look small/big. She will let me know if there is something to worry about.

@pachamama: you definitely don't need to worry. with my first, i remember posting my first bump pic at 25 weeks on facebook and it was a tiny one. i definitely was not showing this early. now i am sporting a small bump, but honestly, i sometimes looked pregnant before i got pregnant too because i never lost my belly after my c section. so i don't think it's all bump now either, i just prefer to think of it that way

@pachamama: This is my second, I'm almost 13 weeks and really not showing. When we went for the NT scan yesterday I almost felt embarrassed that my stomach seemed so flat. The tech just said enjoy it and don't worry - obvs baby is healthy, you have plenty of time to show.

First time moms shouldn't worry. I was barely showing with my first, but this one is so different. This was at 10 weeks, so 5 weeks ago, but talk about a difference!

@ladybee: I meant to post this forever ago, but I laughed out loud when I saw your announcement. It was just two days after we had taken the photo for ours. I did the blog first, then Instagram today and I'll do Facebook later. We told most family and friends right away and then work at 12 weeks.

Still feeling like crap but it's so worth it and it'll go away eventually. Or in February

How's everyone doing? Any updates or news?

I got to hear the heartbeart for the first time at my midwife appointment yesterday - that was pretty cool! And I just scheduled my anatomy scan for 9/29 -still 5 weeks away, blah! DH and I bought a new car over the weekend - he talked me into a bigger model than I planned on, because according to him we need all the extra room and features "for the baby." Obviously it worked on me! Still squeeeezing into my regular jeans, although I'm definitely feeling like I have a visible "pooch." I've done a decent job of getting back into an exercise routine, although I'm finding that I'm tiring faster and taking longer to recover. Hoping my fatigue will start to lift pretty soon here!

    pomegranate / 3411 posts

@ms.line: that's awesome about heartbeat! and congrats about the car!

i just feel like time is going by SO SLOW! I want February to come now just because i hate working full time and i want to be home, lol. even if it is sleepless with a newborn. And i am finding pregnancy the second time around a lot less exciting, lol. especially in the second trimester with no symptoms. Perhaps it will get more exciting when i can wear all my comfy maternity clothes. i am like you at that in between stage where i still fit into my clothes, but have the pooch and i just feel like i look fat. nothing fun about that!

@californiadreams: Thanks! And I agree, February still seems so far away! I'm hoping that by late October things will start to pick up for us - we'll be more than halfway through our pregnancies, and there will be lots of holidays to keep busy with!

  18. californiadreams

    pomegranate / 3411 posts

@ms.line: that's true. i was thinking today i wish i could at least say i am halfway there, but that is still not almost another month! feeling the baby move will be exciting too.

  19. saboma

    cherry / 105 posts

@californiadreams: I'm feeling better now than I was last week. My bump has grown just a bit, and I love the way it looks now. Definitely not fitting into my old clothes anymore, and running out of maternity clothes to wear a different outfit at work every day. So I guess I'll just have to go shopping again. Bummer!

I had some cramps/pain yesterday that scared me quite a bit, but I talked to my midwife and also did some online research, and it seems to just be round ligament pain and just general stretching of all the muscles down there. It was just alarming and scary. But no other symptoms along with it, so I'm going to try not to be nervous about it.

I totally agree that time is moving so slowly! My next appt with my midwife isn't for another 2 weeks, and then anatomy ultrasound the next day. It feels sooo far away! I want to see my baby again and be reassured that everything is going well and growing as it should. I'm sure in a few weeks when we're all huge and uncomfortable, we'll be wishing for these easier, low-symptom weeks.

Also, I can't wait for Fall, my favorite season!

@saboma: I get off and on cramps and backaches - I'm sure it's just round ligament pain, but it's not the most reassuring feeling!

Anyone's boobs reaching epic proportions? Mine are HUGE and won't stop growing. I'm a high school teacher and it makes me feel awkward ....

  22. saboma

    cherry / 105 posts

@pachamama: I've actually been surprised that mine haven't grown that much. They're definitely bigger, but I still fit into my regular bras. So I guess it varies from mom to mom...

@pachamama: Mine have gone from a D to a DD. Not bothering me now but I hope they don't get too much bigger after my milk comes in!

@ms.line: I made the leap to maternity clothes this week... it is glorious!

@californiadreams: The second time around is for sure a lot less exciting, and I feel like it's a lot more tiring. I long for the days when I could just come home from work and crash.

@pachamama: Mine have definitely gotten bigger. I still have all the larger bras from my first pregnancy though, so I just move up a size when I need to. V-neck shirts are off the table right now though... way too much cleavage!

I feel like I"m finally coming out of the first trimester funk. Way less nausea and not quite as tired, though there are still a good number of days I just want to nap in the afternoon. I have another Dr. appt tomorrow and am looking forward to hearing the HB.

I've had a few instances of spotting in the last few weeks and it's made me kind of nervous. I called the Dr., but she just said what I knew she would. If it's not a constant flow, not bright red, not accompanied by cramps, it's probably nothing. It's just not a good feeling to see any amount of blood on the TP. I feel a lot more sore this pregnancy than I did with my first too. Lots of achiness in my pelvis and hips. Man, if I'm complaining now, what's going to happen in another 5months?

Hi ladies! I am on the March 2016 board but since I'm expecting twins, I eill probably be a February mom! So figured I'd say hi 😊

I have a 7 yr old son so this will be my 2nd and 3rd! Found out at 6 weeks 3 days when saw two sacs n two heartbeats! Next u/s was at 8 weeks 5 days.. Baby B measured 8w4d with 188bpm and Baby A measured 8w3d with 115 bpm... I was concerned about slower hb but dr wasn't worried at all.. Im still nervous and next appt is finally mext week at 12w4d! Praying hard still two going strong i definitely feel HUGE and actually felt lil flutters last night for a few moments and was amazing! This is my 3rd pregnancy (10 week loss before). I've been nauseous 24/7 and 95% of food and drink sounds gross lol... Oh and super tired! Sorry so long...

Due date March 10 but most likely end of Feb...

@kiddosc: It's good your doctor reassured you but I'm sure I'd be nervous if I were spotting, too. Hopefully it stops soon!

@saboma: haha i can't wait for Fall because all my nice maternity clothes from last pregnancy are for Fall and i want to start wearing them! Otherwise summer is usually my favourite season. This is the first time in my life i've been anxious for summer to pass and for winter to come! I am excited for next summer though when i will be off work and home with my kids!

@pachamama: my boobs never got that big with last pregnancy and so far not this one either. I did have to go up a bra size/cup but i think it seemed proportional because i gained a lot of weight all over. my bras have felt tighter and more uncomfortable recently though so maybe they are getting bigger and i don't notice!

@kiddosc: yes i really miss being able to crash right after work! i am actually looking forward to starting my mat leave 2 weeks early and LO will still be in preschool during the day. I am going just to sit and watch TV all day, lol. Last time i worked until 2 days past my due date, so happy i don't need to do that this time! And spotting of any kind would make me super nervous too. Glad it hasn't been a concern for the doctors for you so far.

@sassymama34: congratulations! i am always so amazed at mamas with twins, i don't how or if i could handle that, but you seem genuinely excited and ready for it, that's amazing! and cute bump!

    @kiddosc: that's great news!!

Our anatomy scan is September 14th. I keep bugging DH to do an elective gender scan for $75 but he won't cave.

  37. kiddosc

    grapefruit / 4278 posts

@ladybee: I think we're going to do an elective scan... October is too long to wait. We did one with #1, so that my family in Wisconsin could see the baby since we were living in Texas at the time. It was a lot of fun.

  38. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@kiddosc: I agree!! I'll only be 18w4d at my scan but that's when my high risk doctor wanted to do it. I was surprised, I thought they wanted 20w. Either way, if I had to wait two more weeks Id do it without DH's blessing. 😁

@kiddosc: t@ladybee: exciting that you both have dates for your anatomy scans! my next midwife appt is Sept. 9 and i will be 18 weeks, so i am assuming they will give me a form to book my scan right away.

i had a crappy day yesterday. second trimester was going well until i had a terrible migraine that started saturday afternoon. it was worse on sunday and i threw up because of it. then after a 3 hour nap, and sleep last night and some tylenol, i still have it this morning I was also brushing my teeth last night and it triggered my gag reflex and i threw up everything i just ate. I hate throwing up hoping i feel better soon.
