Got back my last beta today and it was great, 12000+ when 8000 would have been just fine, with a doubling time of 46 hours 5-6 weeks.
6 weeks today and the nausea is starting! I broke out my first stick of ginger gum today.
Also, between the progesterone and the natural fatigue, I am SO tired. I am taking a 2 hour nap or going to bed 2 hours early every day. Thankfully DH & I are on summer break so we can take turns with LO!
Excited for the 4 ladies getting appts this week! Trying to live vicariously through you, haha. Especially excited to see if @dominobee is carrying twins!

@DesertDreams88: that's so great! Although sorry about the nausea. No fun. We got a big tub of ginger chews, although just thinking about them makes me feel a little queasy; I think my body associates them with being sick during my pregnancy with my son. Haha.

@MaryM: I am so, SO happy to see you here Congratulations!
@skate13: congratulations and welcome!
@theotherstark: I couldn't stand ginger when I had morning sickness. Anything cool like ice, lemon and mint (combined with chocolate) worked so much better for me.

@MaryM: So, so happy to see you here - I was thinking of you and wondering how things were going Sending all my best wishes for you and this babe

@MaryM: So happy you're here!
@skate13: welcome and congratulations!
@DesertDreams88: I want to be able to eat ginger so badly but I can't stand the thought of eating it. Ugh I've been trying to eat small carby things throughout the day to ward off hunger and that seems to be helping. The evenings are the worst time for me.

@shellio: Thanks! It's still a little shocking to be here after two years of TTC. Also I am realizing how difficult early pregnancy is. My nausea and fatigue are in full swing. I guess I thought it would feel magical... or something... LOLOLOLOL silly me.

I've found water to be really helpful for nausea.
I have celiac, so I can't do most carbs. But sinking a glass of cold water in the morning really helps.

@theotherstark @DesertDreams88 @bushelandapack @travelgirl1: I was really into the ginger chews during my first day of nausea. Now it's just too much flavor. Saltines and LaCroix are where it's at. I can usually eat regular food by the end of the day so I pig out (on carbs, heh) at dinner. Weirdly, yesterday afternoon I was craving plain chicken breast like it's nobody's business (though typing it now makes me want to gag) - and I'm pescatarian! I'm going to go for it though. I've been seriously lacking on protein on my diet so I'll take what I can get. Usually I eat a lot of beans and veggie sausages and fish and all of those things sound totally disgusting to me right now. I've brought a veggie sausage to work the last two days for lunch and just couldn't even stomach the thought of it. Oh and today I brought a coconut popsicle to work and I feel like that's going to be a really nice afternoon treat. TL;DR: Pregnancy food aversions and cravings are so weird!
@desertdreams88: You and me both sister! Should find out tomorrow. Both DH and I have been counting down the days.
@Tionn3: Ahhh GL for a great u/s today! Can't wait for an update!

@MaryM: I agree! Super, super cold ice water first thing in the morning has been really helpful for me.

@bushelandapeck: the evenings are the worst for me now too! I think I do a decent job of staying full throughout the day, but at night I guess my dinner digests fast or something? I've had to do little late night snacks.

@theotherstark: my nausea has kicked in full force since last Friday. I must have jinxed myself because I told the nurse on Thursday that I haven't had any nausea and then BAM here it is Friday. and has been running constant since. it's all day. and its awful. Thankful for the symptoms.. or at least trying to be.

@dominobee: I just got back from the ultrasound and it was great! Baby was measuring 6 weeks 6 days today, and had a measurable heart beat of 160bpm! We got to hear it to! They said everything looked great and discharged me to regular OB! My first OB appointment is next week and I'll be 8 weeks. =]

@MaryM: water is great too! I have gluten sensitivity so I avoid it but I've been eating GF cereal and pretzels on the regular
@Tionn3: yay for a great scan!

On the food...ugh. I was at a conference with my boss today, and of course she had to pull out an egg sandwich to snack on. It smelled SO bad!
And my GF lunch, is a wrap made with rice paper. The first mouthful of gummy wrap made me want to heave.

Feeling slightly more like this is real now that I had my first US so....
Location: MA
EDD: 2/13/18
First child? Yes! After 29 months ttc. Second IVF transfer in late may; let's hope it's the one!
Any symptoms? Sore breasts, maybe some exhaustion, possibly a hint of nausea but nothing serious.
Who have you told? DH, one friend and her BF.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? After an early loss and such a long time TTC just worried it won't work out. Stressed wanting to get the house ready.
Oh! Edited to add I had my first US this morning at 7w1d. Baby measured exactly at 7wk1d at 10mm and heartbeat 141 bpm. RE thinks it looks really good and released me to my OB....which I don't have yet, haha. Recommendations north of Boston?
pomelo / 5720 posts
@skiierchck99: welcome! we are north of Boston too. PM me if you're more comfortable as to where you are and I can try to help with the OB rec's I go to MGH even though it means driving into the city.

@MaryM: OMG that must have been awful! Haha. I've barely been eating from the morning til at least noon.
Today my co-workers got Mediterranean so I asked them to get me a side of rice pilaf. Ate that, then felt good enough to eat some chicken a co-worker couldn't finish! And I haven't eaten chicken in 2 1/2 years! But it was great.

Ugh. I just called my doctor. They couldn't work me in until July 19. I'll be 8 weeks then.
I might call back if (more likely when) I have an anxiety attack. I'm pretty sure last pregnancy I was seen two or three times before my 10 week appointment.
I didn't want to be seen before 6 weeks...but of course right then, we're hitting a holiday, then he's in surgery, out of town for a couple days, and then I'm out of town for a couple days.
I hope the next three weeks go by quickly...

@travelgirl1: @MaryM: yep, super cold water is helping me too! Not in the mornings, because I just throw it up, but during the day it is the best. Cold fruit is good too, and I just got some popsicles at the store as a treat.

@dominobee: it's so weird how the cravings and aversions wax and wane! I usually try to force myself to eat, even if it doesn't sound good, and I usually feel better afterwards.

@dcrumlish29: sounds like we are in the same boat! And yes, I am very thankful for the symptoms!

@dominobee: ha, we are all dying to know!! when is your appt tomorrow??
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@bushelandapeck: yes, I've been keeping little baggies of pretzels in my car!! They've helped as a snack between activities with my son.

@skiierchck99: welcome and congratulations!! And yay for a good scan!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@MaryM: is there another dr. That could do the scan? I would hope with your history that they could get you in earlier, just for some peace of mind.
pomelo / 5129 posts
@theotherstark: My doctor is a solo provider. I saw someone else in his network last year when he was on vacation and we found out our baby had trisomy...but for that reason, I wouldn't want to go back to her office.
If I'm really concerned, I'm pretty sure he'd work me in at the beginning or end of the day, but it would have to be next week because of when we're out of town. And I'm afraid next week could possibly still be too early to see a heart beat.
