@dominobee: interesting! I'm almost never set off by smells or anything; it's almost always hunger related, or just totally random.
So exciting you are telling your family in person!! I can't remember, did you plan any special way to tell them?

@bushelandapeck: that sounds like so much fun! Have a great weekend!
My husband is back from a trip tonight, so I'm excited about having him home, since I've still been feeling pretty crummy.

@theotherstark: I just got my mom's "retirement gift" today! I'll wrap it up and give it to her. It's a print on canvas.

@dominobee: perfect!
@desertdreams88 I'm also having a symptom-light day and it's kind of freaking me out but I guess it's normal? Yesterday was my worst day so I'm thankful to not have a total repeat.

I just read a paper that said the average time of nausea and vomiting cessation is 9.2 weeks gestational age. If the nausea was mild it was 8.2 weeks. The study said that there was nausea cessation much later and earlier in pregnancy too, but it was on the other ends of the distribution. So 8-10 weeks it's normal for nausea and vomiting to stop. Definitely made me feel better.

What kind of prenatal vitamin is everyone using? I bought some gummies today because I was dreading getting the huge tablet down every day that I was taking. But that one was a whole food vitamin with actual folate instead of folic acid. The gummies are just cheapies. Anyway, what are you taking?

@Tionn3: I didn't feel nauseas at all on Wednesday. I felt great. But, also worried. I'm only 7 weeks! But, I threw up this morning and felt crappy pretty much all day, so I think the hormones just fluctuate. Scary though and sucks to just not be able to enjoy feeling good!

@CatchAFallingStar: I'm taking Target prenatals and Target prenatal DHA bc they are both manageable sizes. That's what I took for LO1, conception - 16 months of nursing, and despite my limited diet he is doing so well.
I was taking NatureMade for a little bit bc that's what was available on Amazon but they were huge and didn't have 100% of the vitamins.

@CatchAFallingStar: smarty pants gummies have folate if you want to stick to that.
ETA: I get them off amazon. I set up a subscribe and save to get a bottle monthly

@CatchAFallingStar: I take the Rainbow Light one. It's the one I've taken with all of my pregnancies and doesn't bother my stomach. There was a week or so right around 7/8w when I went back to taking regular gummy bitamins due to extreme nausea but I've been okay with them since then.
My nausea is okay most of the day but then, around dinner time, it gets bad and stays that way until I go to bed.

@CatchAFallingStar: I take the smarty pants gummies too. I like that they have folate and dha/fish oil in them. They don't have iron in them so if you need iron you'll have to get a separate iron supplement. I was taking a separate iron supplement but it was make my nausea worse. Now that my nausea is gone I think I'm going to start taking the iron again.

@CatchAFallingStar: I'm taking just Folic Acid and DHA bc prenatals have always made me sick. My OB said it was fine but now I'm nervous about the folic acid vs folate thing. Ugh

Dh and I had sex this morning and I immediately started to have light bleeding afterwards, there were two tiny clots that I passed too. I'm so scared, and of course it's the weekend and my ob office is closed. It seems to have stopped over the last hour. I think I'm going to schedule an appointment for this week to get checked out. I'm worried the Sex aggravated the hematoma and that is why I had the bleeding. It's so hard to know. I hope everything is ok .

@Tionn3: That makes sense. There's always a range to everything in nature and some women don't have nausea at all! I'm sorry about the bleeding, that's scary. But everything I've read is that if it's not combined w/ cramping it's probably fine. I hope everything turns out ok for you.

@CatchAFallingStar: I'm taking a generic Rite Aid prenatal. It's big but that doesn't bother me, it's got all the stuff I need and it's inexpensive.
You guys, I've been a total bump on a log today. I realized my nausea/gagging seems to be worse on the weekend because I sleep in and thus eat later. So I laid on the couch a little this morning. Then I developed a headache and took a nap to get rid of that, which thankfully worked. But now it's 4 and I've literally done nothing today! And I don't really want to either!!! Haha.

@Tionn3: Oh and my RE once said he has seen women who bleed all 9 months of their pregnancy and deliver healthy babies. Sounds strange but apparently it happens. I wouldn't let yourself get too worked up over the sight of blood especially if it's connected to something like sex. If something's really wrong you are likely to be in lots of pain.

@CatchAFallingStar: I'm taking the smarties gummies but I hate that I have to take 6 at a time! I have took sit down and eat them slowly in the am.

@dominobee: I've heard of this too. It's probably just that the sex bothered the hematoma and it was draining. Unprovoked bleeding would be more concerning to me. Still think I will try to get in on Monday, I need reassurance .
pomelo / 5720 posts
@Tionn3: I would go in too, just for reassurance. I'm sure everything is fine but I'll be thinking of you.

@Tionn3: hope you're able to get in on Monday. My OB said that it's common for sex to cause some spotting.

How's everyone doing? I'm officially feeling like I look like I've gained 10lbs and not sure I'll be able to hold off telling people until after we've told our families (would be 3.5 weeks from now). I haven't actually gained any weight yet but man do I feel bloated and huge! I also made my first baby purchase during the Prim day sale last week-a couple of burts bees zip up one-piece sets in gender neutral colors. I couldn't help myself
I hope everyone is having a good start to the week!

@Tionn3: Thinking of you today, I hope you get good news.
@bushelandapeck: Doing okay today. Again this morning I was a good neighbor and picked up my dog's poop from someone's yard... only to exchange it for my vomit.
I feel bad but what was I supposed to do? It just came out! If anyone saw me they probably thought it was a really crazy sight!
I'm finding that I'm super hungry early in the day and less so in the evening. Especially after throwing up my breakfast! I need to get in the habit of keeping more food at work so I can eat a second breakfast once I get here.
Oh, and I'm 9 weeks today which means I've officially graduated to fetus-land! So that's exciting. Really looking forward to my appointment with my midwife this week. I think I am going to call back and try to get more info about a possible u/s - and have a nurse or the midwife call me back since the receptionist didn't seem all that knowledgeable.

@dominobee: Ugh. Sorry about throwing up! I ate too much last night for dinner and threw up a while later. I felt much better but then ate a bag of popcorn and felt gross again. I'm trying to be better about eating small meals instead of large ones but it's hard! So excited for your appointment this week!
pomelo / 5129 posts
I feel the worst I've felt today. I had to lay down (naked and under a fan) after my shower to keep myself from throwing up. I'm not sure if it's nerves (my follow up is today at 1), not sleeping well because of nerves, just plain pregnancy, or all three.
I'm *trying* to actually get work done from home because I was off all week last week. I'm not sure if I can keep it up for another hour though.
pomelo / 5720 posts
@MaryM: I'm so sorry you are feeling awful! I'll be thinking of you as you head into your appointment at 1pm.
I definitely haven't been sleeping well and I notice that I feel a lot worse on those days. I hope after the appointment you can get a nap in or at least relax a bit.
pomelo / 5129 posts
@bushelandapeck: technically I'm supposed to keep working after it. Ugh. Hopefully at least we have good news that will help me feel a bit better.
pear / 1553 posts
@MaryM: Thinking of you. Sorry you're feeling so terrible. I hope you get good news today.
If it's any consolation I think I've air dried from every shower in front of a box fan laying on my bed for the past 3 1/2 weeks or so. That means I've rarely had time for a morning shower (plus an air dry) so I've definitely gone to work stinky. C'est la vie.

@dominobee: I called to get an appointment, but since I have Kaiser, they have to send a message to the OB department first and then they have to call me back to schedule the appointment. It is really annoying that I can't just call to make an appointment. On the bright side, the bleeding has completely stopped today, and yesterday there was barely any, I was just spotting brown/pink.
kiwi / 680 posts
@dominobee: They had the advice nurse from my OB call and reassured me that everything I told them sounded normal, including the loss of nausea and the decreasing breast tenderness. They told me to do pelvic rest. They basically didn't give me an appointment. =[ I didn't really push for one either though. I'm gonna give it a few days to see how I feel.

@MaryM: SO happy for you!!!!!
And how nice that they said you can come in weekly. That's amazing!
