@chelsearose yay, congrats!! love that name!!
Had my 37 week appt... OB said that baby is free to come whenever he pleases! Would not complain if he showed up prior to his due date!

@mrsjyw: Weee! Thanks for updating the list. Can't believe some of the November babies are here already. So exciting!
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@mrsjyw: ahhhhhhhh I hate being at the end of the list. I'm getting so antsy/impatient!
honeydew / 7687 posts
@mamamoose I know, right! The anticipation is killing me, I over think every twinge or tightening.

@mrsjyw: Can I please be added to the list? 11/5!!!! Let's see when this baby wants to come, though!

Thank you all so, so much. I'm really hesitant to share the details yet before you all have your babies because there are parts that were truly horrific. Overall I'm recovering and baby got a clean bill of health both last night (at birth) and today by the pediatrician.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@ChelseaRose: oh no! Maybe start a separate thread with your birth story so people can decide if they want to learn from your experience or stay in the dark. Either way I'm glad that you and baby both came out of the experience safely in the end.
honeydew / 7687 posts
@chelsearose yikes I am sorry to hear that hope your recovery is quick, and I agree with @mamamoose 's suggestion

@ChelseaRose: awww yay congratulations mama! Love the name and so happy you're both doing well. Was it the c section that was horrific? I'm having one Tuesday. You can answer on my wall if you don't want to scare everyone, lol.

Anyone want to share favorite meals to freeze? So far I've been trying to freeze portions of what I'm making for dinner since we have a small freezer, and I don't want to get sick of something. So I have taco meat, cooked ground beef for chili, and 4 portions of lasagna...
Picked out our Christmas cards & Birth announcements! I'm going to send them together, with a little insert I made with our new address. Hit everyone with 3 things at once and save some postage

@scg00387: I have a TON of freezer meal ideas! You're smart to freeze portions of what you're already making (because you know you actually will eat them and it's not much extra work).
Some other ideas that are living in my freezer now:
Cooked Meatballs - for spaghetti, meatball subs (italian or philly style), with greek fixings in a pita, with an asian sauce over rice with veggies.
Enchiladas - Also easy to make extra one night with dinner and freeze a small pan with just two servings or so in it.
Soups - make a batch of your favorite and freeze flat in quart ziploc bags before stashing in a stack. I like Chicken Tortilla, Broccoli, and Spicy Black Bean.. basically flavors that I don't find in a can, an already cheap and easy option.
Crock Pot Dumps - do you have/use a crock pot? If so you can find a bunch of recipes online where you bag and freeze all the ingredients for a crock pot meal (meat, spices, veggies, liquids) that you can dump in a crock pot in the AM and have ready for dinner without any measuring and with minimal cleanup.

I keep freezing things like enchiladas, chili, sauce, and then I get lazy and cook it for us now! I better get busy!!!

@ChelseaRose: I'm so sorry! Just keep focusing on that healthy baby! I hope your recovery goes smoothly.

Does anyone else notice LO is not moving as much? I think she is running out of room. Still worries me though.

@mrsjyw: my due date was changed to 11/12... who knows when she will arrive though!
pear / 1992 posts
@kml636: Haha! I'm guilty of that too! I was super gung-ho about cooking though during the last month so I'm not too worried about our stash, just can't make it a habit
And yep, she's not moving as much - or at least it's different movement. But just when I get worried, she starts pushing on me again. I had to figure out her new routine because she was active at the same times for a while there and now it's very different. Always when I am laying down to go to bed though... haha.

@lindseykaye oo meatballs are a good idea! i love our crockpot but have never frozen a crockpot meal before, so i'll have to weed through our recipes for them thanks!
@kml636 LOL I wrote "DO NOT EAT" on all my freezer bags and vaccum packed them - I normally used Pyrex and I know that would be too tempting
I definitely feel less movement. I've had weekly biophysicals and from 36w to 37w there was significantly less fluid, so I know he is running out of room. OB and sonographer said it's totally normal!

@scg00387: I went on a rampage with cooking freezer meals a few weeks ago. I found some great freezer-friendly recipes on Delish.com and tried the following:
http://www.delish.com/recipefinder/freeze-ahead-lasagna-primavera-recipe
http://www.delish.com/recipefinder/chicken-tetrazzini-recipe
http://www.delish.com/recipefinder/meatloaf-chili-sauce-recipe
I also added some of my favorite veggie soup and a pot of chili. I had been nervous about the food making it through the storm (we lost power for 48 hours) but I had added in ice to the freezer to keep it colder and I think we made it through. Food was still solid when the lights came back on

@scg00387: I just started on some of the prep work for my freezer stash yesterday!
I made a shopping list, put all the recipes into one word document, and made little cutouts that I can stick on the meals in the freezer with the date that I cooked it and the re-heating instructions. Here is what I'm making:
Tater Tot Casserole: http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,238,156177-232201,00.html
Baked Ziti:

Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup:

I'm also going to just pick up a few Stouffer's frozen meals also.
Will try very hard to eat everything with some kind of salad/veggie/healthy side since these dishes are pretty heavy and unhealthy. I may pick up some frozen veggie bags to heat on up the side and get some frozen fruit to make smoothies.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@kml636: I notice less/different movement. Baby is definitely running out of room in there. These days I mostly just feel general squirming as opposed to the direct kicks and punches I used to get.
honeydew / 7687 posts
@Meggo5 @highwire thanks!! going to click through and print some. I make smoothies ahead of time often and then just thaw them out - adding a little spinach is a great way to sneak veggies in you can't taste too I wish we had room for a deep freeze!! I bought some goodies from Costco too, we had a "sample lunch" last weekend, loved having my husband to push the cart haha!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@scg00387: I love spinach smoothies! It is actually the only way I can eat spinach LOL
pear / 1992 posts
@highwire: Yay!
That also means that @mamamoose and @PETUNIASANDPEARLS are almost there too!

You guys are up to bat! I'm going to be stalking this thread! I can't wait for you guys, just a few weeks ahead of me, to start dropping like flies- lol! I want to see some gorgeous babies and hear birth stories! So excited!

Hopefully we are going home tomorrow! I can't wait to be out of the hospital, although today we are having our special after birth fancy meal. I'd love to share a pic of my little guy, but I don't know how to do that until we are home and I have access to my computer. He's so cute though! Today will be his third full day on the outside and I'm hoping my milk comes in soon.
honeydew / 7687 posts
@chelsearose yay for home!! hope your fancy meal is delicious
@highwire yahoo 37 weeks! I resolved to walk at least once a day and sit on my exercise ball for a while each night... come out baby!
I broke down and bought new leggings, my jeans still fit but they're so tough to put on without serious gymnastics. Old Navy had their (non maternity) leggings on sale for $7 and I bought a man's XXL hooded sweatshirt off clearance. SO COMFY!!
