@travelgirl1: Good luck tomorrow! I did have a cesarean, but that was actually the least bad part of my whole experience! I hope you and baby are healthy and happy!

@Mrs. Tricycle: my baby is now 3 weeks behind so I'm getting another sono today. Eek!

@mrsjyw: wow, exciting! I haven't felt any contractions yet, one more week to go...

Finished my last iron infusion and was so looking forward to skipping rush hour traffic and chilling alone at home for a few hours...got out to the parking lot at the hospital and I have a flat tore. Ugh. Waiting on DH to come rescue. And then have to drop money on New tires, sit in rush hour, and have a meeting tonight. Boo. Tired.

@kml636: My last fundal height at 38 weeks was only 35, yet my baby was over 8 pounds and was 21 inches long.

Flat tire, not tore. The curser on my phone is disfunctiomal so I can't edit.

We just got back from my doctor's appointment and they have scheduled an induction for Thursday night into Friday. I had a feeling that this was going to be a possibility since they will only let me get to 41 weeks, but I was somewhat surprised that they are doing it so soon (or to me, at least). I have not progressed since last Wednesday's appointment and the doctor just wanted to get something scheduled.

We were discussing why 41 weeks and the doctor told me that in our area (Northeast), that tends to be the norm. I had really hoped to go into labor naturally but am actually more OK with this than I initially thought I would be. There's still a chance that I will go into labor on my own, but of not, there's at least an endpoint in sight.

It's kind of crazy to think that in just a few days, we could be holding our baby!!!!

@ChelseaRose: oh good... Yeah how exact can it be when they use a tape measure...

@Meggo5: yeah I think the 'deadline' for me will be 41 weeks. They don't seem to be letting too many go to 42 weeks as far as I have noticed lately

@highwire that stinks hope this is the end of car troubles for you!

@Meggo5 hoping you go into labor before then, but I can imagine that an end date is a relief! I asked my OB last appointment and she said 41 is the latest she'll go too.

@kml636 My fundal measurement has been small each week because I carry so low, so I wouldn't fret. I've been having weekly biophysicals anyways so my OB can see he is growing how he should, even if my measurement isn't

@mrsjyw: Ahhh good luck at your appointment tomorrow!

@PurpleUnicorn: I know, it's been ages! We should defo meet up when we have our babies. My baby's breech and I didn't want to have the turning procedure so unless she's turned since Friday, I'll have the c-section tomorrow. Super excited though!

    @ChelseaRose: Thanks so much!!!

@highwire: Oh no, that's the last thing you need! Hope you get it sorted soon!

@Meggo5: How exciting! Not long at all to wait!

Ahh!! All these babies are coming! Good luck ladies as you get closer to your inductions/due dates!

I'm pretty ok with the whole measurement thing being off -- I've read so much about how it's most likely just the baby's genetic body proportions, and not really anything to worry about, so managing to stay relatively calm.

@highwire: Did you try to have your tire patched? It's sooo cheap(<$20) it might be worth it before buying new tires.

Extra shout out to @travelgirl1 and @lindseykaye: how are you two ladies (due date twins) doing?!

@travelgirl1, I know you're getting ready for your big day tomorrow and hope you're able to get some good rest tonight. Like I said on the other board, I can't even imagine how I would shut my mind off, but hope you're well and enjoying this special time.

    @lindseykaye: how are you feeling?!

  20. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

@Mrs. Tricycle: yeah they just patched it for free since we have a warranty...but we still need new tires in general at some point soon

Baby girl is already almost 7 lbs according to her sonogram! I am just shocked because they kept telling me she would be small! 6 more days, 1 CM dialated, and NO Braxton Hicks... I think she'll be late.

    Thinking of you today @travelgirl1!!

@Meggo5 - I'm doing alright. At work again today, and with my next appointment set for Friday at 10am I've officially decided that Thursday will be my absolute last day (should I make it there).
I'm still feeling really good - good baby movement, good energy levels, good attitude mostly. By the time the late evening rolls around though my back starts to ache and the braxton hicks kick up a notch and I just can't get comfortable. It never feels like labor though, not that I know what that will feel like...

I had a good cry last night though after passing my due date. But it was mostly happy tears with some nostalgia mixed in, thinking about how fast this pregnancy really did go by and realizing that I will most definitely miss her being on the inside. Such a crazy mix of anxiety and excitement and wishing she would come while also trying very hard to remember to pause and really treasure these last days together (with me and her, and with my husband and myself).

And now I'm getting all teary thinking about it all again...

@travelgirl1: thinking of you today mama! hope everything goes smoothly!!!

@lindseykaye: awww hang in there mama! i am starting to feel the amp up of overwhelming emotion that comes in these final weeks before baby!

just got back from the doctor, the only change has been another .5 to 1cm dilation and baby being completely in my pelvis (though he didn't mention a station reading)....

just playing the waiting game. back to bh contractions, and minor cramping... doc said again "see you at the hospital" or "see you next tues" where I will have my membranes swept~

thinking of all of you... crazy how fast this month came.

@kml636: @lindseykaye: @mrsjyw: Yay, good updates from everyone!

I am paying the price for how busy we were this weekend. I am in so much pain. UGH. Sitting on a heating pad this morning...

We had our prenatal visit with our doula last night and it was great to talk about our birth plans and whatnot and she came up with some good questions to talk over with the doctor at our next OB appointment tomorrow.

This whole maid/MIL cleaning debacle is continuing on. Now MIL is offering to pay for the maid instead of coming to clean herself. I'm too beat up to deep clean my bathrooms, she doesn't want to do it, DH doesn't want to do it, let's just bring in a professional and call it a day like I said originally! LOL. Then if MIL still wants to come visit we can just spend time together and enjoy each other's company, and not have to deal with the cleaning stuff. That's why maids exist

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone! Just waiting to go to the hospital now - it feels like we're about to go to the airport or something, just sat with our bags packed! I didn't get much sleep last night - too much in my head, I guess. And I'm not allowed to eat all day, ahhhhhhhh! Anyway, we're booked in for 3.45pm ET and if baby girl hasn't turned we'll meet her soon.

Good luck to everyone still waiting and if you go into labour before I get online again then I hope everything goes awesome - so excited for us all!

    Have a great day, everyone!

by the way, i just want to say that today is my official due date!! and i am still at work. Here is to hoping I make it to friday!! a few more days after that would be nice so i can relax at home and get a few more things ready. So far, i have had zero labor symptoms. but i have had friends tell they had no symptoms and then just went into labor or water broke all of a sudden, so i am still a little nervous from moment to moment.

i don't even know what a contraction is supposed to feel like! I never got any BH! my friend told me i will just know when it happens though. i hope that's true. i am also paranoid about my water breaking while at work!

@highwire that stinks! We had both cars' check engine lights go on last week and took them in - $400 in repairs on each car. Ugh. Trying to look at it as at least it didn't happen with a brand newborn in tow!

@mrsjyw you're missing @purpleunicorn in the list! and yay for more dilation! I am excited to be checked on Thursday.

@travelgirl1 thinking of you today, hope it is all going great.

@kml636 eep almost 7 lbs! I have 'sizing' done on Thursday's biophysical and I'm nervous!

I bought a pineapple today to eat... ha! I would never try anything radical to induce naturally but I figured that was a pretty low impact way to.. suggest it. If there is any truth in it anyways. My skin is so darn stretched out it looks like shiny glass, as if I were in a burn accident. Frankly, I am terrified at what it will look like post-partum, which is really vain.

We got iphones for the first time -anyone have fun/useful apps to suggest? I'm coming from a Blackberry so I don't have any know how.

@highwire It is literally blinding when I step out of the shower !! I cannot even wrap my head around all the lucky jerks without any stretch marks at all My stomach officially looks like the stomachs I googled in the 2nd trimester and said "OMG I hope I never look like that" aka, painful and purple/white on the front and sides. Of course, my mom had zero and my sister carried twins and had zero. Lame!

  39. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

@scg00387: The other night DH was like "OMG you scratched yourself all over!" And I had to be like, "no that's not what happened here".

I actually already had stretch marks on my belly before I got pregnant so I had no hopes that I would be escaping from pregnancy without any new ones. And actually, I haven't gotten too many new ones, but the old ones have just started to get longer and higher up on my belly.

So un-sexy LOL. I'm assuming the new "stretches of road" will fade to white like the ones before them.

  40. immabeetoo

    honeydew / 7687 posts

@highwire LOL LOL that is hilarious. My husband tries to be nice and says "theyre cool, like a free tattoo" "tiger stripes, rar!". I had tiny silvery ones on my thighs I think but nothing like this Some of the ones under my stomach are so deep you can see/feels the ridges. I measured around my belly button and I'm 42" when I started at 26". Where on earth is all that extra going to go!! Haha. OH well. Vanity rant over, very happy that baby is still cooking healthy even if it is making me look like a road map I did buy one of those belly bandit things in 2 sizes so hopefully that will help!
