    @Meggo5: good luck!! so exciting

@travelgirl1: congratulations!!!! i can't wait to meet her

@mrsjyw: i appreciate the description because i have no idea what to look for. i've had nothing like what you described though, which is good cuz i want another week still!

    @highwire: same here!

@ChelseaRose: i never would have though to send a thank you gift, but that's really nice of you. i guess that's something i will decide in the moment, depending on how close i feel to the nurses and if i feel like i really want to do something extra.

In my own news, the only thing i am struggling with is that i had a bad cold for over a week, which is pretty much gone now (that's a good thing)....but last week i was blowing my nose and coughing so much that i pulled a muscle just under my ribs and the pain is crazy and constant i am terrified of going into labor before it heals. i've been putting a heat pack on it. and yesterday it was starting to get better until last night when my baby kicked the exact spot that was sore!!! now i am back to square one witht the pain .... i am seeing my doctor tomorrow and will see what he says i can do about it. just another reason i want this baby to stay put for another week at least so i have time to heal. wish me luck please!

@highwire: i kind of wish i didn't have these lil symptoms/phantom signs.... it's making me more anxious!

@purpleunicorn: i'm kind of confused. i had clear snot like yesterday (but not in the gobs as previous posts have described their mucus plug to be) and today is just extra discharge tinged with brown... i think i've had mild mucus plug/bloody show bits; but i don't know if they come in one full shed or in bits/pieces like i've described. (sorry for the TMI)

@mrsjyw: i have also noticed a slight increase in my discharge as well, like i had to change my pantiliner yesterday, rather than using one for the day and i noticed a slight hint of brown. but when i go to the bathroom and wipe, i see nothing out of the ordinary, so i am not sure if i am imagining things.

Anyone with a late November due date putting out holiday decorations early? I think our tree is going up this weekend LOL

  7. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

@MamaMoose: Yeah, I'm pretty sure the hospital gets filled up rather quickly since everyone in my area wants to deliver there. That is probably why they went ahead and put it on the calendar to hopefully reserve the space (although people in active labor obviously get first dibs)

@mrsjyw: It sounds like you're going to be one of the lucky ones who goes into labor naturally a little bit before your due date. Your little boy is going to be here before you know it! I'm super excited for you.

@highwire: too overwhelmed to think about decorations - if the bare minimum (a tree with lights) happens this year, I'm ok with it.

  12. immabeetoo

    honeydew / 7687 posts

@highwire no decorations here, fingers crossed without any trouble or complications we'll be moving around Christmas.. and they're all in a bin at the very bottom of the bin stack in a closet. next year!!

My feet are officially swelling, ack! How am I supposed to walk and induce labor if my tennies are too snug?!

I've been super crampy all day today but as soon as I got home and laid down its starting to go away. Boo.

@highwire: hubs has been given full instructions on how he is expected to decorate! I will not sacrifice Christmas!! : )

@scg00387: Oh gosh I am so sorry! I am officially relegated to sandals and have been for WEEKS. I can't imagine if I lived in a colder climate what I would do, because I seriously have no shoes that fit right now (I guess I would have had to buy some new shoes!

@MamaMoose: Haha good, get those decorations up! I thought I was having a contraction a minute ago, but it was definitely gas.

@highwire I have to confess, I've been using my flip flops with socks on to let the dog out & get the mail.. so heinous LOL!! I think I'm going to buy a cheap pair of fake Uggs maybe.. I am envious that you can still wear sandals!

@mamamoose maybe they'll come back soon! but seriously, you're not allowed to have your baby before me. stay in due date line

  19. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

@scg00387: Haha oh my goodness. I really wish I could sneak in a pair of booties or uggs or something that are sized up a little, but I can't bring myself to waste the money since I (hopefully) will only be able to wear them for a couple of weeks.

  20. MamaMoose

    GOLD / squash / 13464 posts

@scg00387: hahaha. Sorry I will try not to cut in line! I have to say it has been very strange to make the mental switch from praying this baby would stay in there to being SO ready to pop him/her out!! It doesn't help that at my appointment this week my doc said "wow, I really thought you would have the baby as soon soon as I took you off your meds!"

  21. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

@MamaMoose: Oh yeah definitely a big switch! I just found out my doc is out of town 11/17 - 11/25 (my due date is the 23rd) so I am not on "Evac Mode" until he returns LOL

  22. immabeetoo

    honeydew / 7687 posts

@highwire I bought 3 pairs of leggings in a bigger size last week, so bad! I've been wearing them day & night though haha

my OB is out of town through Sunday, so I thought maybe that would tempt baby to come out... husband is gone sunday through friday for his new job... we'll see how contrary this little boy is!

@mamamoose I bet that is strange! I guess baby changed his/her mind

  23. PurpleUnicorn

    persimmon / 1035 posts

@MamaMoose: i know what you mean about wanting the baby out. practically, i want my baby in for another week, but physically and emotionally, i am DONE being pregnant! i no longer fear delivery because now i see it as ONE day of hell compared to this day to day suffering of uncomfortable-ness and insomnia and not being able to use my body like i used to!

@highwire: oh i hope your LO stays in until the 25th!!

i have 2 days left of work to get my awesome paid leave!!!! please tell my LO to stay PUT until the weekend!! my due date came and went yesterday!

I do wonder about due dates though. I have heard that if your cycles are longer than 28 days, then your due date should not be calculated 40 weeks from the day of your last period. November 4th was due date based on my last period, then my first ultrasound estimated November 6th....but my cycles have always been around 30-33 or 34 days, so maybe i am late now not just because Baby Unicorn wants his mother to make money, but because his due date is actually later than i think?

how did all of you calculate your due dates? Are they based on first trimester ultrasound estimations or some other calculation using LMP and cycle length or just LMP?

@Meggo5: ahhhh thinking of you! Hope everything went well!

Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone. Ariela is perfect, good as gold. Because she was breech she has a bit of a funny shaped head, and likes to lift her legs up, but she's so adorable, I can't believe she's here! We're still in hospital -she's all snuggled up against my chest now - and I had some horrible pain today, but very happy and relaxed now. I Had a bit of a cry earlier because she was sobbing and fighting nursing and I felt SO bad for making her cry, but that's pretty much what babies do, lol. So excited so many of you are getting close!

We welcomed our precious son into the world on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Caleb Max was born at 1:13pm after a relatively short labor and weighed in at 7lbs2oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

When we arrived at the hospital at 5:00am, I was already 5 dilated. Two hours later, I was at 8 and by 10:45am or so
I was at 10cm and ready to push! I pushed for about 2 1/2 hours (difficult, but amazing too) and our beautiful baby boy arrived! I had a very, very strong idea that he was a boy all along and we are just both so incredibly in love with him.

He was taken by the NICU nurse immediately because I had meconium in my water when it was broken at the hospital. I was disappointed that I didn't get to hold him right away but thank goodness, he was healthy! My husband brought him over to me and we nursed for a full hour! Watching my husband carry him was one of the most beautiful sights in have ever seen

More details to come but I had to share our mini birth story!!!!

@PurpleUnicorn: I've been thinking about this too - I know exactly when I ovulated, and if I use that number, it makes my due date 11/20, but the Dr is sticking with my LMP and ultrasound to get 11/14. I know babies never come on time, but if I get close to 42 weeks, those 6 days could make a difference if they start talking about an induction.

@PurpleUnicorn: I ended up having multiple ultrasounds in my first tri and every one showed a due date of 11/25 even though my LMP showed 11/28. We are going with the ultrasound. I think even if you know the exact ovulation date you can't always rely on that because after ovulation it can take anywhere from 6-10 days for the embryo to implant and that's when the pregnancy really begins.

@Meggo5: Big congratulations!! So happy for you that labor and delivery went so smoothly (and pretty quick!). Love the name

@PurpleUnicorn: I charted my cycles (we charted to avoid for about 4 years so I was very familiar) and my ovulation due date would have been Tuesday while my LMP due date was Monday - so not much change between the two. I'm thinking she's just snug and cozy People keep saying she was waiting for the election to be over, or that she's waiting for a lucky birthday of 11/11 - we shall see!

@highwire: since I am technically an early November due date I haven't even been thinking about decorations - I always put them up the day after Thanksgiving and that weekend so I figured I will have plenty of time to rest up before wanting to decorate. But if she decides to actually be a full two weeks late that would put her at 11/19 - right before the holiday! I still don't think I'll decorate early but if I wait that long I might just have to in order to have something to do and keep my mind off of things.

@Meggo5 yay!! congrats hope today is a beautiful day for all of you.

@lindseykaye my best friend says she is pushing for 11/11, I told her I'd be totally okay with that!

My periods are really irregular so I have no clue and had a dating ultrasound that put my due date at 11/23 but it hasn't changed much as more ultrasounds have happened. Fingers crossed it isn't too far off
