    @travelgirl1: I love that beautiful head of hair!! Did you have heartburn? Trying to decide if that's really a predictor - I've been heartburn free so I'm assuming I'll have a baldie.

    Feeling pretty ok - just waiting now - which isn't so fun. Jealous of those of you WITH a baby. I can't remember if I posted about it, but had another sono last week - baby isn't IUGR - they said "you're just having a peanut." Ultrasound estimate was around 6 lbs 7 oz last Wednesday, so should be fine, especially with another week or two of growth. "Bed rest" restrictions were also lifted, so I've gotten the bathrooms cleaned and done some Christmas shopping with DH.

    Hope everyone waiting is doing well and all you new mamas and babies are falling into a happy routine!

    @Mrs. Tricycle: so glad to hear you are off your bed rest!! Hubs and I went to the mall last night to do some Christmas shopping (and to try to walk this baby out of me!). Too bad we ended up only buying things for the baby!! Bad shopper!

    @Mrs. Tricycle: yay! So glad baby is healthy.

    I can't sleep at all. Due date is tomorrow, next appt is Thursday. I've been to two acupuncture appts and I'm also going again tomorrow. Going to get my hair did today and maybe my nails too! Good luck to everyone!

    @scg00387: you look great! I am a lot taller than you (5'7")! I always get told that my belly is "too small" and I think it's because of my height. I think we both look beautiful, short or tall : )

    @travelgirl1: feeding is going much better now. Latching is getting easier every day. She latches right on when she is hungry but when she is semi hungry, she will kind of just slobber all over my nipple and latch when she feels like it which can be frustrating. I am still using the football hold and kind of recline back, I think it helps when my milk lets down too fast since she is sitting upright and almost over my boob. It just takes practice for both mom and baby so don't worry too much! I also had the baby blues for the first 12 days and that was tough because I cried every day from feeling so anxious and overwhelmed by it all. But the last three days have been so much better! Damn hormones.

    What a gorgeous baby!

    @mama moose: @scg00387: you ladies look so lovely!

    @MamaMoose: I'm 5'6 and I got that a lot too. I feel like the baby had more room to stretch up rather than just out.

    @JessLC: I find the opposite is true when my little guy is hungry. When he is more frantically hungry it is harder to get him to latch. If he's just kinda hungry he'll latch easier.

    Ellora Jean was born yesterday 11/10/12 at 7:02 pm, 8 lb 3 oz and 20 inches long.
    Contractions started at about 3:30 am and I slept in between them as well as I could for the reat of the night. Timed them with a handy app starting at about 6:30 until about 8:30 and they got to be about 10 minutes apart and 45 seconds long. Woke my husband up and told him that we were probably going to meet our daughter that day! I labored at home and things picked up once I was up and moving around. I made us breakfast, showered, did my hair and we took 'last' belly shots. The hubs burned off nervous energy doing lingering chores and triple checking our packed hospital bags We made our way to the hospital at 2 pm and contractions were 3 minutes apart with me dilated to 6. Got into our delivery room at about 3, my water broke during transition at 6:30 and she was born half an hour later. I made it through unmedicated with the amazing help of my midwife, my incredible husband and an awesome nurse. She was even born into my husbands arms before landing on my chest. It was difficult (to say the least!) but so so rewarding to have made it through exactly how I had dreamed we would.
    Now we're soaking in our amazing new baby girl and all the incredible love. The last few days of waiting 'over due' were hard but worth it after all. She came exactly when she was ready and exactly how I hoped.
    Wishing the same to all of you who are next to come!

    @chelsearose: what a beautiful baby boy!!!

    @mamamoose: you look amazing mama! and I'm about 5'8" and get the same reaction a lot. NO one believes I'm due in a week.

    @scgoo387: allllll belly mama!

    Date night was great, got some QT with our couple BFFs who are expecting in Feb... and spent the day with my parents and brother today. Walked around a lot.

    I got horrible sleep most of this wknd -- woke at 5am on Fri, 3am on Sat, but slept til almost 8 today!

    I'm feeling pretty good for the most part, except extra tired from walking around today...

    Tomorrow's my next doc appt - still on the fence about getting the membrane sweep...

    How are you all feeling?

    I can't wait to read through all of the BF advice and read about more baby births in this thread!

    @lindseykaye: Beautiful story and name!! Welcome baby Ellora!

    Still quiet over here for me. Heading into my LAST week of work tomorrow, and for the first time I'm not depressed on Sunday night. I'm excited to get everything tied up and head out of work on my own terms (hopefully, as long as I make it through the week!)

    My MIL came in this weekend and she helped us do all of the last minute things we wanted to take care of (we cooked a bunch of freezer meals, cleaned and re-organized our entire kitchen, took her by the hospital, got the dog's nails clipped, and DH was able to get both of our cars all ready to go with inspections, tires, etc.)

    Tomorrow, the maids are coming to actually do all the nitty gritty scrubbing and whatnot since we all agreed none of us wanted to do that and would rather just pay a professional. So, as of tomorrow, our house will be totally 100% ready for LOs arrival!

    My aunt and uncle threw a big 60th birthday/anniversary bash Saturday night so DH and I got dressed up and went downtown for a last little date-type thing and to celebrate with my family. It was fun.

    Anyway this is so long. Feeling okay physically today, for some reason! Yesterday was rough and my back was KILLING, but today I've been doing stuff all day long and I feel fine...eh I'll take it. Baby girl keeps on bouncing around...doesn't seem like she's out of room yet at all! Keep growing little lady.

    @ChelseaRose: Aw, thank you! I'm seeing a lactation consultation again tomorrow and then back at the doctors on Tuesday so should get it all under control. I'm getting enough through pumping though so at least she's getting fed properly now.

    @highwire: Won't be long at all until she's here!

    @scg00387: Thank you : )

    @mrsjyw: Sorry your sleep is rough but glad you're feeling okay!

    @lindseykaye: Aw congrats! Well done and beautiful name!

    @JessLC: So glad BF is getting better for you! I haven't had the baby blues as such but am very emotional. I think it's because I'm so in love with her... someone tells me she's cute and I well up! So glad you're feeling better about everything, it is a very overwhelming time! I cried on day two actually when she was trying so hard to latch but was crying her heart out with frustration. That was definitely hormones but it hurt to see her struggle.

    @Mrs. Tricycle: Congrats for coming off bed rest! And yes I had heartburn - like a bitch, all the way through : )

    @kml636: Happy due date!!!

    Hey ladies. Just a quick check in to say so much for waiting until Monday morning to be called in for induction - my water broke Sunday at 1am. I wasn't sure at the time if thats what it was, and so I slept the rest of the night and stayed home getting ready until about 6pm and then we finally went to the hospital. I had also been having pink discharge since about 2pm.. After waiting forever in the assessment room, doctor confirmed my ruptured membranes and said I should stay to be induced because my blood pressure was also high. So here I am at 2:30am, attached to a pitocin drip and baby is being monitored and has to be until the end - which means no getting to use the jacuzzi :(. Anyway between contractions (which are getting a little worse over time, I think I will be getting the epidural when the time comes!), I can't sleep and am pretty bored so I thought I would post here! Wish me luck on getting thru this!

    @mrsjyw: I had cramping and spotting after my appointment...and i hadn't shown any progress in 3 weeks (1cm, barely effaced). LO was born 3 days later and came all on her own! Cramping and spotting means things are starting to turn on down there! Hang in there - it'll be time soon!

    @scg00387: Oh my gosh they are probably there RIGHT NOW lol.

    This morning it felt like baby girl's head was swiveling on my cervix and my water could break at any moment. But that has since gone away.

    So, the maid company emailed me to compliment us on our sweet puppy and to say that they stayed a little late just playing with him and giving him some extra love! What service! I hate that we have to leave our pup home alone all day during the work week. I'm so glad someone was there to love on him a little today.

  36. Mrs. Tricycle

    blogger / pear / 1964 posts

    @highwire: That's awesome. I just got done vacuuming and mopping my floors -- I vetoed the maid service, and decided to chip away at it myself, then spend the money on a pedicure. I have to say my toenails look quite lovely and floors are sparkling (at least for the next 24 hours), so I guess it was worth it.

  37. DillonLion

    GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts

    @Mrs. Tricycle: Nice!! Awesome job on doing the floors yourself. I am just a hobbly mess that it was impossible for me to take care of LOL

    I have an old gift card that someone got me for a prenatal massage at a spa - and then the massage therapist quit, so I'm subbing in a few smaller services (nails/wax/etc.) instead of the massage.

    What color did you get on your toes? I'm thinking of doing a bright pastel baby pink in honor of LOs arrival

  38. Mrs. Tricycle

    blogger / pear / 1964 posts

    @highwire: you should totally go pink! I actually had a bottle of green in my hand, but didn't think I'd want to look at green toes for a few weeks, as fitting as it would be. I picked a plummy-red instead.

    @highwire aww that is so sweet that they played with your pooch! I was on the phone once with the maintenance guy when he was in our apartment and I mentioned that I hope our dog wasn't bothering him.. he made my heart stop when he said "what dog!". Our little furball wasn't greeting him or objecting to a stranger... he was snoring on my pillow and had not even noticed. Not a guard dog, for sure.

    Rented Magic Mike from Redbox for tonight... gotta love a cheesy movie!
